How It Works:
Simply take a picture of any text with your device and the app reads it aloud or displays it with a connected Braille display. The app uses high-quality speech to text and OCR for accuracy.
The app helps you get a good photo with viewfinder assist, tilt assist, and automatic text detection. It navigates by line, sentence, word, or character and has synchronized text highlighting. It can read multiple pages and is fully accessible using Google TalkBack.
It works in multiple languages, including, but to limited to English, Norwegian (Bokmål), Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, Danish, Turkish, Russian and Polish. More details below.

Every blind / vision impaired individual with a smartphone or tablet should own this app - it makes organizing paper documents easy by saving the captured text to your device it's an excellent way to go paperless. The only two minor issues that prevent a 5-star rating are 1. It's tricky to capture document field if you have no vision at all and 2. If you happen to own both Android / iOS devices there's no way to download a single app on both devices without purchasing twice...

This app works very well, (if your phone's camera is up to the job(. I use KNFB reader on the Google Pixel, and my older Moto G3 2015. While KNFB runs well on the Moto G3, the Moto G3's camera is very average quality. You can get the Moto G3's camera to produce convertable quality captures, but lighting and focus need to be spot on. On the other hand, the Pixel's camera is very sharp, quick, and captures very readable shots most of the time. It always helps to be in a decently lit area with bright-enough lighting. It's very good on the Google Pixel.

This app works excellently as intended. Note: place documents on a stand like the Fopydo or stand the document upright before scanning to get the best results. KNFB needs to mention this to users in the app description.

This works so accurately - taking an immediate photo of a whole A4 printed sheet and reading it out immediately. Using a dark matt background behind the reading material and checking that the light is good helps accuracy.

Two main issues I had were the need to double tap while holding the device still resulted in blurry pictures. The bigger issue, though, was that while reading, the recognised text is displayed on the screen. TalkBack can see there is text on the screen, so TalkBack also starts reading the text out but slightly behind KNFB's voice. You can't make out what either voice is reading to you as they both do it together.

It was working fine at first so paid for the full version. Was very happy with it until it started saying knfb reader has stopped. It won't even let me report it because it goes off straight away I was very happy with this when it was working please get it working properly and I'll give you 5 Stars but I would like it to work properly all the time. I paid for the app. Please help.

It does not talk, the directions, when trying to get ALL four corners to take a picture of document.

Field of view report sometimes does not work. Its really ausum. Adding hindi will atract a lot of indian buyers.
