CapTune for Android
I love sennheiser headphones, but this app is a joke. It doesn't support flac and the interface is clunky. Swiping to navigate would be much more intuitive than pressing panels. Here's a tip: if you need a tutorial to to explain how your music player (one of the most basic apps on a smartphone) works, then it's horribly designed.
Needs to support more streaming services like Spotify if it wants to stay relevant. Just supporting Tidal is lame & greedy. Otherwise it just becomes another iPod type music player, with a big fat MEH. Will not add any goodwill to Sennheiser headphone users.
Can't check battery life, which is why I would only use this app in the first place. Not pretentious enough to use Tidal. On top of it, the eq settings only work within the app; unlike the UE Roll app. Quite rubbish actually.
It Killed itself upon all the startup. Make it more usable. And upon using once it was hanging bad. Had to in install. It's really good app but needs heavy bug Squashing and fixing UI.
This is by far the best music app i have used. The soundcheck feature is great. But there is problem with UHQ files. Please fix this issue, as i cannot play UHQ files. Could use a homescreen widget too.
The sound quality is great, but my biggest concern is how much of a battery hog this app is. I listened to music stored on my phone for about half an hour on the way to work and then left the app running in the background, with the phone sitting idle on my desk, for about another hour and a half, and Captune used 42% of my battery.
Ok. I'm biased because I've been a Sennheiser fan for years. Having said that, I've lost count of the music players I've tried...and uninstalled. But this one seems to fit the bill perfectly. Now. Where can I get some Momentum headphones from.....
Custom EQ presets for preferred hardware and unique BT devices, custom behavior/FX profiles for each mood and room and playlist. I am very satisfied. This is an equalizer first with scalpel precision, the music player is almost irrelevant. Calling this app a music player is like call a formula one racecar a jalopy because it doesn't come with a cupholder. This app does everything it needs to because it is a machete, not a Swiss Army knife.
Next to useless. Unless you subscribe to Tidal Music or actually live in the 20th century and consume your music via files on your device this application does absolutely nothing at all! Love your Headphones, your apps suck big time.
The interface is really complex and unusual, but sound quality is really amazing as expected from Sennheiser. So a new, clean interface, a few big fixes, and a home screen widget would be worth 5 stars.
Below par considering its from Sennheiser! Basic audio functionalities and tweaking. Can't hold ground in front of Poweramp! Uninstalling it.
Awesome player for audiophiles.. Disagreed with a few small UI choices, hence 4 stars.. Make sure you have a good headphone and the best 'ranged' mp3 for the sound check..
Still no widget, still no flac reproduction, are you freaking nuts? And playing from folders take ages. I don't need volume buttons, I have them already. Make seeker. Optimize player for all formats and add widget. IF YOU DO THIS, DO IT LIKE YOU DO CANS. NOT THIS HALF DONE PIECE OF APP!
It is draining significant amount of battery while not even being used or opened. Battery usage statistics reports 17%! Uninstalled it.
I was just checking out music apps and I saw this app "captune" and thought that same boring music apps but....... It changed the way of listening , you can amplify the song , save it as your profile music , damn it is super cool . Boring music = awesome music . Thanks to the creaters
Great concept but it lacks stability, when I select a song it, after having to search way to long because I can't select a standard path to my music library, it just freezes a couple seconds and occasionally crashes. Sometimes it randomly starts playing on my internal speaker while it is in my pocket. It doesn't have a build in album art download option and it just feels slow most of the time. I currently still prefer Poweramp but I'm sure you guys can achieve something similar.
The tweaking and subtle tunings enhances the hearing experience but disappointed with the design and lack of widget. If you don't care much about the design and love music above everything, this is THE app for you.
needs work. Lack of customization options, especially media library/folder management tools. Oh yeah, and it has no widget! Widgets are important.
Great player. But surely support for 192khz files should be an absolute must for an app from Sennheiser? Can't be 5 stars until that is rectified.
As music quality, this music player is great, offering one of the best equaliser I've ever used, but the app itself is frugal, slow to respond and without possibility for personalization
It has need to some more improve for example landscape, sleep timer or double tab for pause/resume. But don't forget main work or main duty in music player is good audio process, audio process in Cap Tune is Great and Cap Tune did his duty in best form and saved me from jetAudio, player pro or Poweramp! Thanks because no ads and free! In the end: Soundcheck is truly GREAT! Excellent
First thing I noticed when I used the app was the non user friendly UI. The look was OK but the usability really sucks. The problem was that the slide menu from the left does nothing but to switch the audio output; it would be better if you put home control menu in it (e.g. album, artist, genre, etc.). And for the audiophile features, it doesn't have replay gain, audio upsampling, sound FX, etc. This music player had potential, so I hope you can improve it in future release.
Please add option to delete media files, the app keeps showing songs in the list even after they have been deleted from the SD card. I have to manually clear "media storage" data everytime i delete or add audio files. Sound quality wise this app is among the best ones out there and the 'Spatial Boost' FX works very well. +10 for the Spatializer
It is great compared to others I've used plus if you add devices like what headphones you are using it will keep your eq it is more user friendly if you have what is in the list but you can add your own OK and for those audiophile or people who wanna try an complex media player check out foobar2000
Missing some basic media player functionality like shuffle or viewing the queue of music currently being played but the huge issue is how inefficient it is. This app hits your battery so hard, I listen to music for about 3 hrs a day during commute and after 3 hrs my phone battery is guaranteed to be dead with this app using up over 50% when I check. I uninstalled and went back to Google play music where I can do 3 hrs and still hav 60% battery left.
I edited my comment, somehoe NetCap do work withflac..not sure why it was crashing earlier..so far it is ok.... This app not really help my Sennheiser head set..I still need to adjust the equalizer....overall a very good player..much more needs to be improved if can tune to open or closed headsets.
The interface currently requires too many steps from sound setting view to library view plz fix that....the profiles should also have device specific auto load option...sharing this feedback coz jus love this player and would like it to better with coming versions
I installed this and it is constantly crashing ever so often, the song will be playing and suddenly it stops playing and you get a message stating that Cap Tune has closed. You need to do something dear developers to fix this issue.
Good music player, one thing that I love is 'sound check' where it will give you option for different equilizer setting and from your input it will set the right equilizer setting for you. So Cool..!
The app is great and looks good but it misses some default functionality such as a simple shuffle of the local library. Because of this I only use it to check my headphone status. The sound through my headphones is however better through this app then it is when played with poweramp for some reason
Good, very good sound, but app itself isn't as powerfull as PowerAmp I've been using for years. It needs lot of work to be really good and user friendly, I mean scanned directories, playlists, playback modes etc. Looking forward to see that kind of improvements, because sound quality is amazing.
Makes my Sennheiser CX300ii sound near perfect. Very Simple n Clean Inteface. Loved it !
It must work on battery draining issue, and it must add CX- 213 on their device list. Too much battery usage of this app. I am using it, since i have sennheiser device.
but you must fix the search bar problem
Add widget to homescreen. No recent list of last played music. Equalizer settings gets reset every time headphone is reused
Almost a great application. Why then does CapTune insist upon never remembering anything from previous sessions? Not the most-recently played album or artist, nor even the location of what it calls the device's "Music Library." Emphasis on glitzy settings like EQ. Few basic program settings: none of them useful. Despite shortcomings, CapTune manages to outshine most music players for the Android: if only because most others are worse. Sennheiser (or the developers you've hired): your app is severely in need of an update. Do it, and quickly. CapTune could be a marvelous showpiece for the Sennheiser brand. But for now, it's an embarrassment. *** Update: As of this writing (& after downloading v1.4.2) I find CapTune capable of recalling which album and track I'd most-recently been listening to. However, one must set this manually--how often, I haven't yet determined--using the Save Profile feature. Too bad it doesn't remember anything close to the precise minutes/seconds where you left off (important to me, as I listen to genres in which it's not unusual to have the entire hour-long piece as one track). Let's see whether the battery-draining problem has been fixed, also.
Nice app but battery killer. Leave it in the background and your battery will be dead so quickly. Does not continue from where you left off. Love the sound and eq. Random tracks not the easiest to set up. Smart pause kept stopping the music so disabled it. Now Google play has removed the equaliser this is easily the best music app. Sennheiser pxc 550 headphones. NEEDS TWEAKS SENNHEISER
It has been quite a while now. I was almost done with searching for third party music players on the Store. Almost when I had ended all my hopes, then I came across Captune. It is sleek, and silently superb in its work profile. Sound tweaking, FX, Library and support for profiles are amongst its strong plus points. Tbe only place where I am disappointed is whenever I exit the app, the next time I open it and I have to reselect all the music again and again!
Sorry but it's 2017 how come Sennheiser can't afford its customers a proper music apps?? I switch from Parrot to Sennheiser for the momentum 2.0 wireless but I'm totally wasted by this apps. Totally dispointed with the lack of update and showing how uninterested the developers and the brand company care for its customers. I really hope to see an apps doing better than Poweramp or Spotify interface on Android. You can't filter your directory and it take minutes to load songs..

No landscape mode for tabs and mobiles with larger screen. No need to have volume seeker, volume buttons are there for that job, enough if you have song seeker. List skips to the 1st album/song while browsing through a list of songs/albums. Sound settings resets to flat on restarts. Bass and treble settings don't get saved either. Song list goes to the 1st song on restart.Using in MI PAD 1st gen running android 4.4.4.
