Ia lahir pada hari Rabu tanggal 1 Ramadan di 470 H, 1077 M selatan Laut Kaspia yang sekarang menjadi Provinsi Mazandaran di Iran. Ia wafat pada hari Sabtu malam, setelah magrib, pada tanggal 9 Rabiul akhir di daerah Babul Azajwafat di Baghdad pada 561 H/1166 M.
Ia adalah orang Kurdi atau orang Persia. Syekh Abdul Qadir dianggap wali dan diadakan di penghormatan besar oleh kaum Muslim dari anak benua India.[6] Di antara pengikut di Pakistan dan India, ia juga dikenal sebagai Ghaus-e-Azam.

He died on Saturday evening, after sunset, on the 9th of Rabiul end in Babul Azajwafat area in Baghdad in 561 H / 1166 AD
He is a Kurd or Persian. Sheikh Abdul Qadir considered a guardian and is held in great respect by Muslims of the Indian subcontinent. [6] Among the followers in Pakistan and India, he is also known as Ghaus-e-Azam.
