THIS APP WILL BE DELETED SOON.

Thank you for purchasing DXFlights Pro.

DXFlights Pro is an app that maps long distance flights on google maps.

You get to see flights with their call sign. You also see the time of last contact between the airplane and the ground (Air Traffic Control), and the place it comes from (its origin airport code), and flies to (its destination airport code), and sometimes the intervening airports it may fly through.

Data comes from our own network of HF (shortwave radio) feed stations around the globe. These are all owned and controlled by us. The ability to get data from this network is un-surpased. No one has such data, and many other sites either don't have such data, or have estimated plane positions. We have actual airplane positions.

Not all airlines use this system. You can see the list of covered airlines at: http://dxflights.com/callsigns.html

We are also adding ADS-B receivers at some of these remote feed sites to add additional flights. In this case, all airlines are covered that fly over these locations, not just the airlines in the list above.

You also get:

- Ability to search for an airline, a flight number or anything else, and once a flight selected, get taken to your selected flight;
- When you pop-up a flight, click on the pop-up and get information on the airports used;
- Select timeframe before the present to see more data (1, 2, 4, 8 or 16 hours before the present);
- Select colors of an airplane icon;
- Select type of map, either satellite or actual street map;
- Select number of lines shown next to each plane : one line for flight call sign, two lines for flight call sign and registration (the alpha-numeric number you see on an airplane), or three lines to include the route of the plane.
- Click on flight information pop-up and then visit airport websites.
- and much much more...

We are increasing our coverage all the time and we will be adding data from additional feeds. These will be installed in central locations. We are also adding ADS-B data, to get additional flights, from remote areas.

*** THIS APP MUST NOT BE USED FOR NAVIGATION!!!!

Data comes from our own network of feeds. No information is stored. We now have more than 2000 flights per day. And all these flights are mostly long distance flights. Data that no one else has.

Reload often to get the latest data.

I decided to spend a euro or so and buy the pro version. I am glad I did. The pro version offers search, and with so many flights, an important feature. I can search for a flight or an airline. And as soon as I type a few letters, possible flights are listed. The pro version also offers multiple time segments for flights that last a long time. Dxflights also offers a status line: green for news and red for important issues, such as aviation events. Although it doesn't cover all the airlines, it covers almost all flights that fly over remote areas, like Emirates, Etihad, United, Qantas, Cathay, many chinese carriers and almost all cargo airlines. All in all it covers flights from almost 76 airlines. When you click on a flight look pop up, you see list of airports and then you can click on them and see the wikipedia entries. Nice feature! Worth the money. Recommended.
