About ClapIR

ClapIR is a tool for measuring the acoustic properties of a room. Simply start the app and clap your hands. ClapIR then analyzes the clap's recording to calculate the room's reverberation times and frequency response. It's acoustics engineering made easy!

ClapIR is based on research done at Northwestern University by Prem Seetharaman and Stephen Tarzia under Prof. Peter Dinda.

Very well-designed and functional app. Needs a reset option, though, and and the ability to start measuring a series of claps after a single click.

On my Huawei P6 it just show noise floor level. Nothing happens after claping.

I am an oldie ElectroAcoustical Engineer, had big tools to measure this. Now just with my phone or tablet, I get the whole analysis in a zap. This and AUDIOTOOL (on Play Store) just blow it all away. Great to try in churches and large halls. Thanx guys !

As a drummer and audio engineer, its aslway a chalange to guess the acoustics of a room.... With this, all I have to do is clap a couple of times and I know what's coming to me durring performances.... I just downloaded this and I'm going to use it starting tonight.... This thing is cool!

I teach a course in non-traditional amplification and we discuss room acoustics quite a bit. This will help demonstrate reverberation quite well! Thank you!
