Need my 20 bucks back... doesnt work even if the card is kept on top of the phone

New and do not work at all. Setup went wel but after that locate card only white screen does not work anymore

Still locks randomly when neither the card or phone moves! even when Bluetooth is off and the phone's been manually unlocked and I'm using it. Still can't set and keep the notification light setting, and not being able to set notification sound as anything other than system default or none is still annoying. WiFi loses connection randomly (when the app is running and bluetooth is on). Nexus 4 on 5.1.1

So I set this all up, and it says the card is activated but it will not find the card. But Now with the card right in front of me it shuts down as if the cars is no where in range, what's going on, I thought this was something good but not really when it acts like the card is not in range but is right in front of me

Wifi will not turn back on if turned off when app is running. App keeps loading when restarting phone even though the setting is turned off. Deactivated administration rights and it is still locking the screen and trying to turn the Bluetooth on. When it is running the app keeps loosing the Bluetooth connection with the card when it's only 2-3 feet apart.

Has been improved since the first launch but this app still uses a ridiculous amount of battery. Literally has hogged 26% of my battery all to itself. For me, this project is officially shelved.

After trying this app on multiple phones across multiple versions the longest I can get the card to stay connected is maybe a couple of seconds even if it is sitting right next to the phone. Then it disconnects and locks my phone again.

I lost my wallet and this thing cannot find where it is. The maps feature which is the only feature that needs to work does not work at all on my flagship phone. Even the developers know this app is trash. To the salt developers i say... YOU HAD ONE JOB.

The SALT card works as advertised, but I anxiously await the promised update that will allow SALT to work with the trusted devices unlock - as is, I cannot have SALT and Android Pay at the same time, due to Android pay's secure lock requirements.

Updated Review! After reinstalling the newest version for the droid the app has worked flawlessly. The phone always stays unlock when its within the range of the salt card and it no longer locks unexpectedly!

Pick a short password, you are going to be using it a lot. I am holding the card in the same hand as my phone and it only stays "in range" for 10 to 15 seconds. Definitely not ready for prime time. *Update* After being updated, it now completely locks me out of my Galaxy S4 and I can't even uninstall it. It should be called Assault, because that is what it does to your phone. Lowering to 1 star only because I can't go lower. 2/20/16 Just reinstalled the app to give it another shot. I am more convinced than ever that Google needs to have a negative star system for rating this app. I am scheduling surgery for next month to have two more thumbs attached in order to give this product and app the four thumbs down it so richly deserves.

I was so tired of entering my code each time I looked at my phone. SALT has solved the problem. It works flawlessly on my Galaxy S5!

After latest update, it works like a charm for me. Thanks to developer.

Downloaded update, SALT added new features such as start on device power up and distance control. Still need to test it out but I'm happy the devs have pushed an update! Will update my review after a few days.

Recently updated to the new app in the hopes that this would help return my SALT card from piece of junk status. Looks like either my phone can't find the card, or in the time it took to fix the app, my card's battery is now dead.

The app was actually working nearly perfectly before I upgraded to the new version. Unfortunately, it no longer works with my HTC One M8 after the update. The app sees the card but doesn't lock/unlock.

The new features are great! Still working really well on my Nexus.

Great app. Works perfect with my LgG2 phone. Great for anyone who wants extra security without the hassle of putting in code every time you want to access your phone. 5stars!

The salt card doesn't play well with Android 5.0+ smart lock. The card completely skips the notification screen of the device and goes directly to unlocked. If you press power it just goes directly into the device without the lockscreen. My hope was that you could just bypass the pin lock and still use the standard android lock screen. This combined with smart lock and trusted places would be ideal, but I guess I need to wait. After more use I am also finding my Nexus 6 can become stuck on a black screen

Edit: still not working 2 months later........on 5.0+ Note 4 vzw on 4.4.4 and it just changes the fingerprint scan to swipe and never let's the phone auto lock. Even with the card 8 feet away. Also, there is no adjustable range as was promised in the kickstarter update emails. Get it together SALT!!

The most important quality of any security system is its reliability, and this system fails miserably at it. I can never tell if my phone is locked or unlocked whether my card is or not in range. The app crashes, has an unreliable connection to the card and drains too much battery. The only reason for 2 starts instead of 1 is the potential.

Still not working very well after the latest update that was supposed to fix WiFi disconnecting unexpectedly when using the Salt app. Now non of the methods work to unlock the device automatically even though the card is in range. Bluetooth still can't detect the card so I can use it with Smart Lock instead.

Issues: 1- Can't add my SALT Card ("Network Error: Unable to establish connection to server"). 2- The app drains too much battery. 3- It does not work when killed from Recent Apps. Why don't you use some kind of background service? 4- Takes a while to detect when the card is in or out of range. 5- LED setup does not work properly. 6- My device vibrates when card enter or exit range even when "app is disabled" setting is configured. Hopefully these (and other) issues will get fixed soon.

The update added the distance feature and I don't have to start the app when I restart my phone. So far so good

I doesn't actually keep people out of the phone, it just keeps locking the device. And if you're diligent you can get in and change settings or occasionally it doesn't lock it correctly. Also need the back up pin just in case I lose the card or something of that nature

Locks using standard Android security, and ignoring the card. All setup correctly.

Doesn't work on oneplus one lollipop version.

It was working okay for a few days then the app started degrading. Now it won't even open. Tried to uninstall and reinstall. Still the same. HTC M8. Lollipop. 5.01

As I'm typing this, the phone locks because it losses connection with salt card. Utter piece of crap

This card doesn't do 2/3 of what it said it would be able to and currently is failing a what 1/3 of the features it can cough out. It's extremely saddening to have bought three of these cards as gifts when they do not do what they were made to do. They not only now have more bugs than the initial launch, they are sending my phone, my partners, and brothers mobile phones into a frenzy and ringing sounds as the card can't be detected, regardless of the distance. Two months without an update? This is not looking good. I have three that are essentially worthless without the polish the app really needs.

Only issue for me is that the app sometimes closes itself. Only need to input code once and start the app again, but would be perfect if this was fixed.

Did not work at all , I am wondering if it is even real? Do not buy.

Cannot even get the card connected to the app. No response to emails to salt. Lame.
