Samsung Smart Switch Mobile

Stupid. What kind of backup doesn't transfer text messages between phones by the same manufacturer? This seems to be the curse of Samsung phones for all the generations I've owned. (Galaxy 5 to Galaxy 8)

I ve backed up all my data on a pendrive through this app . But now i cant restore those data. Plz help how can i restore.....

THANK YOU! For so long I've been wanting to transfer my messages to my current phone. I've tried many many programs and they turned out to be duds. This app did it in 5 seconds :)

I Needed to transfer as much as possible from a Samsung Android 4.2 OS to a new Samsung J7 Prime, both of which were purchased at a T-Mobile Store. The store couldn't even tell me if all Contacts fields would be transferred. And Text history/data, apps, etc., could not be transferred. On my own, I found this app and wirelessly - at home transferred: 1) Contacts w/all data fields, addresses, Notes, websites, etc., included, 2) Texts - Every text ever sent/received, 3) Email - All Folders and Mail intact, 4) Photos & Videos, 6) Calendar - All Events & Reminders, 7) AND ALL SELF-INSTALLED APPS. I couldn't have expected that this app handled it ALL. BUT, IT DID! Unbelievably great. EVERYTHING any user wants when changing machines, of any type, phone, laptop, tablet, desktop, etc. All users accumulate personal data and APPS for a reason. And they don't want a lot of work reloading and restoring all data that they had the day before changing machines. That is critical, Job 1 on machine upgrade/conversion. I believe it may have also transferred all of my Chrome Favorites/Bookmarks, but a Google Sync app may have transferred that data. Just not sure, but again, thrilled as I still have them. Unfortunately and perhaps understandably, the T-Mobile store wouldn't committ to anything close to a full restore of personal data and even misinformed me that Texts could not be transferred over. I understand that T-Mobile probably doesn't want to be in the business of spending the time to transfer that much data, (20 minutes for my mostly utilized 16 GB), but they as Sellers of Samsung phones could have at the very, very least, informed me that this application even existed. What a shameful or purposeful Oversight? I wondered how many of their customers have been let down by losing data and APPS on their new phones since they never expected, and were never informed by T-Mobile that this Smart Switch app exists. Samsung & T-Mobile need to talk. AND FAST. T-Mobile should send a new/Welcome Text and email and Notification with a link to the app in Playstore with a short, bullet point list of the APP'S capabilities and any limitations. Thank you a million Samsung Team! AN EXCELLENT product. Please try to market the app far and wide. Literally millions of your customers need to know what is possible and it will increase user satisfaction and build brand loyalty. Best Regards, Gary Parinella.

This app is POOP! Supposedly supports Android 4.3 and my old phone is 5.1. When trying to download to old phone to transfer data to NEW Galaxy S7, can't download to old phone because the Android 5.1 isn't a compatible device. Really? You can do better Samsung!

Hi, I've used this app last year to sync my old Samsung to the new one. Now the new one got broken and all data is lost because the phone was brought to reset. Is there any chance to get the data back?? Kind regards Hannah

Im surprised how well it did its thing moving from iPhone 6S plus to SGS8 plus. Contacts and notes transferred which i expected. Music i was surprised transferred as well. Videos transferred but purchased ones didnt play. All in all a solid effort and a lot easier than I've ever seen before. Nearly 33 GB and only took about 70mins.

This is just another malfunctioning, untested piece of software from Samsung. After a whole series of hangs and errors, the app finally says "all done", when in fact nothing has been copied. Instead of wasting several hours of my time, it should have just shown a pop-up instructing me to root my phone and install TiBU, which is what I'll have to do in the end. When we pay premium price for these gadgets, this level of quality is just unacceptable.

Well everything works great but there is a bug on my core plus. When i try to transfer Wi-Fi passwords or something else in basic info it says no storage avaliable please deselect some basic items and it is kinda annoying please fix that and i will give 5 star

Probably, the best thing since sliced bread!!! I was able to get ALL my ish from my Blackberry Q10 (even when i didn't know i had already installed it on the BB!), so i was able to get my text messages and my notes into my Android and the world is a happier place

Was very easy to done. Transfer was smooth just I just had alot of apps that were being reloaded to the s8 from s7. New phone will need hrs to load if you choose to restore. So if you don't have it saved save it first then start over.

that was very quick if using cable i transfer 10 gigs of files using cable only need 5 minutes to finish that was a damn fast. okay that was the pros, here the cons.. 1. you cannot transfer apk file.... 2. the ui is not friendly at all, i prefer it using our MY FILES to choose which files we want to transfer 3. transfer using wireless is bad though i have 50mbps of download and 25mbps of upload but still slow.... 4. after done transfering it force user to close the apps and if you want to transfer again you must re-pairing again. this is troublesome..... okay that's all if these 4 you can fix them all your apps can beat down any single transfering file apk on the playstore.

How many file switching services does one phone need? (Can't help but notice that your "reply" was not in any way replying to my comment.) This app is not only obsolete it is an unwanted waste of memory on MY device... In my mind that is the exact definition of bloatware. Technically MALWARE as well... in that I cannot control or remove it. It is an unwanted presence. Not to needlessly quibble with you, but... "Providing" something would mean that it is an available app to CHOOSE to download on to MY PROPERTY. It does not mean, to my understanding anyway, that you get ZERO CHOICE in the matter . What you are doing is not providing, it's FORCING... But hey, the second reply could actually be construed as a reply, so thanks for that I guess.

Tried doing the transfer more than one time thinking i was making a mistake. But everything single time i did the tranfer i went to look at the pictures it was supposed to tranfer it didnt work. When i would click on the picture at first i thought that there was a delay loading the picture because the picture would look half complete. A part of the picture would show and the other half was gray, other pictures would be other colors instead of the actual image. No video transferred.

Last time when I creat back up my phone system application like Google YouTube etc are not re-installed of my latest back up and samsung Knox is not able to creat back up its better to create another app back up at least I'm able to reinstall my latest app if I have to download from play store again then why did I waste my time make it smart not lagy dog ?

Just more bloated garbage that you can't remove. This is for people coming from Apple who can't find the same app in the Android store that they were using on the iPhone end clueless people who use the built-in applications for texting and contacts etc, because anybody with a brain is using an application that syncs to the cloud making a program like this worthless. A perfect example of this is the text messaging program I have the same app installed on multiple devices if I delete the application from any device and reinstall it all my text messages are there after I enter the account information because they're really in the cloud.

Doesn't work on iOS 11 iPhone smart switch. Hate my iPhone wanna go to my s8 but no data. Sucks. And icloud option doesn't work either.

This device can only send cotent. Why? I have Mi 3S and when I want to transfer data from my old Tizen Z2 but can't as it displays message in my Mi phone "This device can only send content." Now I can't transfer my data. It's pathetic.

Have a Sony Xperia XA and won't let me download the Samsung smart switch on my old phone so I have no way of transferring all of my data from my old phone. Other than the old fashion way

It is amazing BUT, when transferring my music regardless if by us or wireless, it messes everything up. None if the music has the correct artists name or albums title. It's a mess now. Please fix this!

I inadvertently destroyed my very first Samsung J-3 that I owned outright. I say the first one because it is such an amazing phone I replaced it with the exact same phone only further updated! Because of the data that I assume I don't know I don't know how works whatever when I started my phone and I assume it's because of this software that some somewhere somehow somebody had that file that would restore my new phone to my old phone as it were. Fantastic lifesaver a godsend I don't know how else to put it I did however just install it on this phone because I forgot to when I first activated it 3 days ago. Could work a little on the voice recognition it never post a, when I say, sure now it did it maybe it's the upgrade whatever the case Samsung I love your products and all the doodads you have working in the background all my data my whole life is in my phone including a video to my children in case I die. Whatever it was I just want to say three thumbs up! You came through when the pressure was on especially in light of the fact I had destroyed the phone your system still restored my phone! Including the videos!

My oppo f1s (model no a1601)cant download the app. It tell its not compatible. I cant switch my old phone data to my s8..any idea??

I don't understand why it's telling me there's not enough space to transfer my messages when my new phone has twice the storage space of my old phone. Literally makes no sense whatsoever

Super Fast, straight foward, no guessing, and best of all...it displays everything thats tranferable. You check and choose/it calculates time and Giga bytes. Excellent App for Android.

Randomly misses out files to transfer. Albums will transfer but be missing a few songs, other albums won't transfer at all. If you use it, check it afterwards!

I've been using this app for years and it use to transfer my WiFi names and passwords. I tried several times to transfer Settings with no luck. S7 Edge to S8.

I tried this but what happened to my photos and mp3s. I cant access them on my new phone and also on the old phone. It says format not supported

Won't transfer from nexus 6p to galaxy s8+. When a connection can be established app crashes at around 10%. USB transfer doesn't work at all.

This app is a godsent. From Samsung to Samsung, Sony to Samsung, and even iPhone to Samsung... This is amazing. I have used it successfully since my Note 7, my wife's S8 and subsequently on all my kids' phones. 10 stars to Samsung!

Pointless app... The previous galaxies had a regular NFC transfer option. This is a scam and you should feel bad.
