Samsung Health for Android
I strongly disagree with Knox protection being mandatory on Nougat. Just because I like to tinker does not mean I appreciate you nearly completely invalidating my Gear S2 purchase and forcing me to stay on older firmware. I can protect my own data, give me that option. EDIT: No need. I've found my way around it, but this is far from convenient. Denying access to hardware features is a low blow.
S health do nothing to stop the cheaters presenting ludicrous step counts and making the whole walking challenges worthless. The winning result equates to 97 miles a day. Each day everyday. To accomplish that he would havechad to have walked 17hrs a day without breaks. It must be obvious from the results generated when people are cheating. The generic responses to feedback is also a waste of time. Pointless leaving feedback.
Not bad, seems to track my steps pretty well. The problem is with people cheating on the monthly global challenges - 200000 steps in a month and less than 2 days in people have completed already. I walk around 14000 steps a day / 7 miles and people are doing 10 times that somehow... Seems a little unfair.
When it worked this app helped me lose 5 stone! But now after the latest Android and app update, it wont work and says my phone is rooted. Which it isnt, Iv never rooted my phone. I dont even know how to! I want it to work again with my Samsung s7 edge so I can keep going with my fitness!
Haven't really even used it yet but can already tell that I don't like the water tracking feature. Would like to just enter in the amount rather than select an entire glass full and preferably in milliliters instead of fluid ounces. Everything else seems fine.
This is the best app ever! I love the easy use and keeping track of everything! I'm a dialysis patient, so it helps when I don't feel well to take my pulse and pulse ox. I also like keeping track of my weight, food, and water. Too bad it can't take my blood pressure too lol. Wish this was on the old gens!
Lost ALL my data, I have been using this app to record my activities and its connected to my samsung account. Had to factory reset my galaxy S5 here. Nothing was restored from February thru June 2017. Just last year 2016. This app SUCKS.
My orginal gear fit did a little better than 3 days on the battery but I upgraded to the gear fit 2 when it came out and up to the 2 updates ago I was getting 2 days. The update prior to 6/28/17 I'm down to only 1 day end of day at 47% battery left. What up samsung? Yes the only back round app is sheath turned on. I give the watch a 5 star for tracking health but a most us less if I have to charge every night when I get home.
Since the latest app and Android update unable to sync gear fit workouts with app. Step counts still transfer over though. Tried disconnecting and re syncing manually but still not happening. Can't find number for uk support centre or how to roll back update on Samsung s7
Does NOT track Heart Rate in "Other Workout". So u forced to use Run, Walk or Pilates to record Pulse. For a normal Gym session, Useless if u want proper calories burned!
A really nice health app that doesn't have a feature for tracking body measurements when current scientific health data supports waist circumference as an important measure of risk. Totally misses the mark as a health tracker. Add a body measurement tracker then the app becomes a 5 star app.
Worked great for the first week to track steps and distance walked. Now it NEVER gives me a step count...yes, I made sure it is on, and it tracks the amount of time I walk but says distance is 0.0. Could be a good app...if it worked consistently. :( Very disappointing. Also infuriating that when I activated Samsung Health that it installed a whole folder of about 50 other Galaxy apps that I absolutely DO NOT want.
The step counter on this app is bizarre. I just ran 5k (recognised by another app AND the trail signs), this says I have done 2672 steps and 3.1 k. It has always underestimated my step count, the new update briwfly fixed it, but now it's even worse.
It's pretty good for the most part, with a few caveats. First, my phone (ZTE Axon 7, USA version) complains about it (and the Gear Fit2 plugin) using a lot of battery. Second, it only seems to sync steps when I launch it, but my Gear Fit2 gets prompt notifications from the phone. So there's regular communication going on, but not with steps. Not sure what's going on there. Last, the global challenge leaderboard needs to be purged of cheaters. 4.3 million steps in a single month? Zero chance that is legit.
Good health and fitness app. However, since I downgraded from a galaxy s7 to an s5, (and didn't use S health for 2 months) I've lost all the meal data as for some reason it didn't sync back to my s5.
I like it with the exception of the challenges. Our current broccoli challenge winner is apparently VERY active, as he/she has walked/ran the equivalent of over 67 miles per day. How is that possible? I don't really ever expect to win a challenge, but it should be realistic.
Overall app is really nice, especially considering it's free. However, how do you not have paddle boarding, but you have things like yachting? And ballroom dancing? Is there anyway we can get paddle boarding added? Otherwise, great app. Well done.
I love the app for the most part. My only suggestion is I wish we could have half cups to the water and caffeine intake, and I wish the servings were broken into 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 2/3, 3/4 cups instead of tenths. That's not a very accurate way to measure food, at least not in the U.S.
Just walked 1.4 miles according to GMaps, and S Health reports 0.3 mi for the whole day. ¿! still using it, not relying on auto detect for workouts.
Says it integrates with Strava but doesn't do much. Doesn't integrate with myfitnesspal either doesn't seem to talk to any other apps at all. Would be nice if S Health acted as a hub but it doesn't an ANT+ heart rate monitor isn't even used to monitor your heart rate in the panels. Not exactly sure what it does other than (badly) record footsteps.
Something changed. For the last few days this app has stopped recording my steps. Seems to be a problem since this activity tracking feature was added. This is why I gave it a low rating. UPDATE: 6/29/2017 - Everything works fine now. Putting the rating back up to 5 stars.
Wrongly interprets cycling as walking. Before it was not a problem as you could have it synced through Google Fit but now its over, they deactivated this possibility. So overall nice app but with not so complete data.
I have been using this app for a month. It has really helped me stick to my weight loss and healthy eating goals. My only suggestion would be to be able to set activity reminders for tomorrow instead of just today.
Great! Best of all other free aps by far! Even many that are paid. Some small errors in tracking and repeating workouts, but many great options make up for that. I expect it to become perfect!
I don't keep my phone with me all the time and I don't have a samsung stepcounter of sorts but of a different brand which can't connect with this app. Samsung also does not allow linking with my wearable counter so in order to track my steps or other things, I need to keep my phone on me all the time and makes it tedious to track health items because of multiple apps to use. Also cannot uninstall this from my phone.
Love this app! My only complaint is about the Global challenges. I find it really hard to believe that people are getting over 200,000 steps a day. That's just not even possible. The guy that won the challenge last month had over four million steps for the month. I think something needs fixed.
Verify my device because together hasn't been used for a long time. Funny that seeing as I verified my device three times in the last two weeks! I'm done with this together thing, how do I permanently disable and hide the tab?
App is great. Only problem is I will be walking for an hour or more and it will think I did 20+ mins of running, which I did not, but it will correct itself later in the day. This inflates the calorie count. Strange bug, only noticed it since the start of June. Please fix it.
It's good and I was so excited to be able to sync with my fitbit but.....it only syncs sleep...please scyning with Googlefit too! I love being able to add exercises especially ones that can't be tracked- the improvements have been awesome...a few more & it's 5*
I'm updating my review for this app. Last time I mentioned adding more tracking exercises (sets and reps) and the devs listened! Nice job. I think next step would be to add a bar code scanner to the food section!
5 stars for motivation, one only for execution. Did not one notice that the battery drain has increased 3 fold? Other negatives are flaky scale updates (I have to open the an every single tine) and erratic "Together " and tracker data updates.
Great app. Works with a lot of different gear. The voice coach is just the right blend of energetic and irritating to help with being motivated to finish the workout. Keep up the great work! :D
Very helpful. I use it everyday to track my activities and food intake but I wish you could add activities that is not preloaded. I do PiYo and it's hard for me to track how many calories I have burned because it's a special workout.
Is there another App that can be put on my Note 5? This one NEVER works! I'm tired of trying to use it and it states my finger isn't over the probe. Come on! I'm not pressing too hard either. It was just updated yesterday. Sad thing is, I can't delete it because it came equipped in my phone.
The steps daily goal should be changed from 6,000 to 10,000. The 6,000 steps is preferred to be achieved in one batch. However, the daily steps needed for a healthy heart is 10,000. Perhaps, this heart heathy info has not reached South Korea or Samsung USA yet.
App is good. Only big problem is the floor count, does not always work. Maybe watch or phone, but very unfortunate. Hope it will be updated.
Love the app. Really helps set goals. Only issue is syncing challenges... they don't sync right away with the gear so who knows who really won & then it kicked the loser back 4,000 steps once the winner won & when we added up the days to see if we really walked that much it wasn't accurate... Mine was 3,000 less then the winning goal & my partner was 10,000 less then what the challenge had him at.
It's a useful app WHEN it works. But everytime a new update hits, I have to remove, unpair, restart or something to get it to work. I'm using a S6 with Fit2 and they ARE compatible, but it's always something. Luckily I have a Samsung account and if I need to uninstall I can usually get my info back. U gotta be patient or else ur gonna loose ur mind.
New message: Feeling more healthy with this app. Enjoyable!

I use the app to monitor how many steps, hours of sleep, and ounces of water I'm taking a day. It has a nifty week overview to show you how yoi messures up to the previous week. It also pushes you with some monthly step challenges that you can compete with people around the world. All in all, a really fun tool to help keep yoir health on track.
