Smart WiFi Toggler for Android
A useful utility that keeps you in control of where and when your WiFi is active. Sometimes you'll need to manually toggle your WiFi on for more accurate map location in mapping apps, but it will automatically turn off again if you're not connected to a wireless network. The only problem I have with it, and I don't know if it's because there are hundreds of access points in its database, I have to keep manually turning off the wireless when I'm at work, even though I have it set to not auto-connect!
As far as apps go this is one everyone needs for longer battery life throughout the day. I keep forgetting to turn off the WiFi on the phone but this makes sure I don't have to remember. No more searching for power cords because my battery is down to 15% stays around 25% at the end of my day.
Tried it before when it was still in early stages, back then it didn't meet all my needs. I decided to check it again, now that it had time to "mature" and I'm glad that I did! Works perfectly and does everything that's noted in the description. Simple to use and works great unlike some other apps that I've tried.
Hey! Ive been using this app for about a year now and I can't recommend it enough! It does its job, and it does it good! I went ahead and donate to get the adds removed :) and go support you as a developer! Thanks allot for making an app like this! Enjoy the 1$
If I could I'd give 10 stars!! Works like a charm, I have multiple access point in my house and with this it switches / toggles perfectly between all. This by far blows other switchers out of the water. Thanks guys!
Have been using this for years on many, many phones and it worked perfectly. Set and forget - one of my favorite utilities. Don't know whether it is the most recent update to the app or the newest update to 7.1.2 on my Pixel XL, but it doesn't work at all anymore to activate wifi. Bummer.
Does exactly as the name suggests. The only issue is when you are out of range of wifi you connect to but are still in the area as it tries to connect but can't, then locks. There is no way to fix this "problem" but just a warning that this will happen.
I am a paid customer for this app. All these months it was working perfectly, but lately I see that WiFi Toggler seems to keep looping between WiFi locked and WiFi unlocked. And this is happening every 2 or 3 seconds. As a result, there is a heavy battery drain. Tried factory resetting a few times, but that didn't help. Please fix this issue ASAP!!
I loved this app on my Nexus 5. I recently upgraded to a Google Pixel, and now it doesn't work at all. It locks my WiFi when I leave home, and I have to manually unlock it when I get back. I really hope there is an update coming soon so this works on my new phone.
Still testing, I'm pessimistic about most tech; so far this seems impressive. I wish it had a built in prioritizer to specify which appears or ssid to connect to when there are 3 around me. I'd rather not connect to xfinity or att wifi all the time. I'm happy so far with the auto on off behavior, I wonder how much it can learn about me..
It is exactly what I need, an app that only allows my WiFi to connect to home and work WiFi. Why doesn't it work?? I have auto enabled active on those but it never auto connects to them. I'm using a Galaxy s6 and I'd be happy to get the full version if it worked!?!
This app is my penny pinching buddy! Trustworthy, auto keeping mobile data usage as little as possible, with no interruption to me. I have used this for several months and I strongly recommend that you download it.
Worked fine until I upgraded my Samsung S3 to Cyanogenmod 12.1. (Aka. Android Lollipop) On cm12.1, this app actually prevents WiFi from reconnecting to an access point after you disconnect. Hope author fixes it. Was useful.
The program is working as advertised. After one week I paid to remove the ads because I feel it's worth it. Takes some getting used to, instruction wise, but nothing one can't figure out. A winner for what it does.
App does what it says it will do. I'm a fan of anything that will save me time and money. This app does both by keeping me from burning through unecessary data.
Paranoid about WiFi grabbers but cannot remember to shut it off when leaving home? Give this app some time and it will learn about your connection habits and save your privacy and battery. Kudos to the developer and be sure to support them.
I'm not sure whether it's because of app recent update or my firmware update (I'm using MIUI 7.1 on android 4.4.4) but I noticed 2 things recently: 1. Wifi was turned off when screen was off for some time, although I chose "do nothing", 2. In general, it caused my phone to respond slower.
I had a problem with accidentally manually turning off wifi and then using up all my data! Took a while to figure out but now at home my WiFi is always on! Also I ended up liking how it shuts off wifi. Great app.
Upgraded to Android 6.0 and this app no longer works. Kept trying to go into the app to adjust the settings but couldn't because the "rate the app" box wouldn't stop popping up. So I've rated it at two stars, happy now guys?
This app works perfect on my S3mini. Switches automatic between mobile data to wifi and back to md when I leave home and get back. Heaps of additional settings and phone integration. Many Thanks !
Confusing horrible interface. No where to actually, you know, actually choose behavior for any Wi-Fi networks. If not a scam app, then the programmers did a very poor job.
It takes some time for the app to learn your Wifi spots. After 2 days I start to save battery. After I switch to S7 edge by using Samsung smart switch it does not work any more no matter what I do (reinstalled 3 times and tried every setting).
It works, but I can't get it to switch on and off unless I'm quite a considerable distance away from my chosen areas. Even when toggling the range settings, it seems that 5km is the closest cut in / cut out distance from a selected zone.
Most the time the app performs as you would hope but on rare occasions it locks or doesn't connect automatically for me. Still my favorite app for automatically toggling WiFi.
The only app I tried that actually worked. Wanted something that would just turn off the wifi when I went out of reach and turn it back on when I got back within reach. The one really bad thing that I felt was worth -2 stars was that there is no option to blacklist networks that don't connect. Instead the app will keep turning the wifi on and off attempting to connect which drains battery and defeats the very purpose of the app. Fix this issue and you will have a near perfect app.
Its really awesome, but with 2 defects. When wifi gets locked, it does not come out of locked state for a long time unlike what is mentioned in settings. secondly, there needs to be a signal strength option to choose between wifi and mobile data. Often it chooses wifi where signal is too low.
I guess it worked for other people but it was wholly ineffective for me. Would love an app that could do this though.
Does exactly what it's supposed to do. Spend some time learning how to set it up and it handles itself with no extra work needed. . The only small flaw I come across is that sometimes I'll be far away from home or work and it will try to turn itself on and off 5+ times which locks the WiFi. Haven't figured out how to stop it from doing that
Great GPS wifi switch and especially for my OnePlus One with LTE & wifi problems. Use this to turn off LTE when connected to (any) wifi, versus having to create profiles based on each wifi network you connect to. I've referred many on the CyanogenMod forums to this app. Hope it helps get a great product out to those that need it!
It locks my Wi-Fi connections and doesn't turn them back on when it should.
I got this app because I often forget to turn off my wifi, particularly when travelling, running the battery flat. This app does it for me. It does sometimes turn off the wifi when I am trying to connect to a slow signal, which is annoying. It also locks my home network after 5 failed attempts, of course it's going to fail, I'm a mile away from home!
First day, I downloaded it because my WiFi was turning itself on repeatedly no matter what I did, set, change or uninstalled and drained my phones battery within an hour or two. Even when I wasn't using it. This app didn't impress me at all. At first. But it did say something about it will learn what you want from it. Been 3 or 4 days now and it seems to be learning and is quite a bit better keeping my wifi turned off. Battery lasting longer. I think this might be the ticket. Few more days and see!
Does not function never turn on or off WiFi. After much internet search was finally able to uninstall this poorly inadequate app. Malware was less of a pain to remove this this app
I really like this app. I think this is a great idea. But I think the settings are a little difficult to understand. They're not very clear. Also it doesn't seem completely stable. I think it needs better notification when it's connected, when there is no wifi in range, if there's an unfamiliar wifi signal in range, and if the user wants the app to remember or ignore it and when it disconnects from a wifi signal. But, as I said, it's a very good app and the best I've seen for this kind of tool.
Solved my basic problem : normally I'll forget to switch off wifi when out of wifi range, but this app does that for me and saves lots of my battery. Also when i come home, it knows by my cell networks location that i am within my home wifi range and it automatically switch on wifi... great!
This app helps me greatly helps me reduce my data usage. Little bit of a learning curve to get going.
I live in the middle of a national forest and have satellite internet with a data limit and questionable connection for my phone data plan. This toggles back and forth so I at least usually have a connection and favors the wifi to minimize phone data use.
There are many android automation apps that can be setup to do similar to this app but this does it so much better. Still not perfect though. Freaks out when I am at my local shops cause they are close enough to trigger the toggle for my home WiFi but no where near close enough to the WiFi to connect. This is my only complaint.
Was trying to find an app that would auto connect to certain Wi-Fi connections and not connect to others. If it can do that, I couldn't figure out how

It is helpful, and it does toggle the wifi. Unfortunately, though, it isn't always accurate. There are many times where I'm near my hotspot and I still have to manually turn wifi on. The options for accuracy are based up cell tower strength and barometer (if you have one in your phone). I hope the developer will consider adding an option for GPS as GPS tracking is the most accurate of all methods. Some of the competitors do this by GPS, and those are more accurate and work more efficiently.
