About SWIFI | Auto Switch Best WiFi

while you're moving around, you get further from a network and closer to another one. swifi automatically switches you to the closer network.

----------- FAQ -----------

Can this app switch between repeaters?
No, if two Access Points have the same name and encryption settings, they are saved as one wifi connection, they would have the same ID, apps like 'SWIFI' use the ID to connect to an Access point.

Why do you need 'Location' enabled on Android 6.0?
It's an Android bug that will be fixed in a future release, but in the meantime, you have to enable Location for SWIFI to work. I know this is annoying, sorry :| https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=185370

Does this app consume a lot of battery?
No, it barely consumes any battery, it only runs when you have a signal that is weaker than your 'Minimum Strength'.

This is a good app but I'd like to see the dB decreased again... Is there something preventing this? I have several access points and this dB range doesn't allow a useful cutover. I end up manually switching networks. If this were a root app on systemless could you circumvent the location requirement ?

S70%
by S####:

Well this is fantastic have multiple 5g and 2.4g networks in the house and with a bit of tweaking in settings seemlessly switches between maintaining the strongest signal whereever I am in the home works just as well on my S7 wifes S5 and sons S3 like the 5ghz priority overide too.

S70%
by S####:

It would be great if it worked 100% of the times I change area. Sadly it switches AP only a very few times, even playing around with the threshold settings. Most apps of this kind have the same issue. Anyhow, nice interface and stealth notifications.

S70%
by S####:

I have two wifi networks on opposite sides of the house. App continuously switches between them sitting in the same spot even though there is a 30db diff in signal. Useless.

K70%
by K####:

What a beautiful simple godsend of an app. Very well done. This feature should be standard android. Why the hell would someone want to hold onto a flailing connection when there a better one next to you..... Google vs this man...... ;)

Z70%
by Z####:

Tested it and it works flawlessly. Only con is that it needs location enable and that consumes a lot of battery even though the dev claims their app doesn't drain much battery..

K70%
by K####:

I tried out two other apps and was about to give up, then tried this one...and it works great. I have two routers at opposite ends of the house, and it's fun to manually connect to the weak distant router and watch it switch to the strong closer one. Thanks!!

S70%
by S####:

Can you provide a history log showing what it switched from, what was switched to, signal strengths at time of switch, and time? Also have a debug setting with audible ping every switch so I can walk around and see where the network decides to switch. Then I can fine tune. If the log and audible ping were unlocked paid version it adds value to paid version. Is there a page to submit improvement requests?

S70%
by S####:

really works! i shoulda downloaded this a long time ago ... does what it says! automatically switches weak wifi networks to stronger ones in the house ... ie: main router in living room to extended wifi repeater in the bedroom , A+++++

S70%
by S####:

Its great that you can see the signal strength in dBm. Works perfectly fine and no annoying advertisement.

S70%
by S####:

Very good app which (unusually) does exactly what it claims, unlike many. Use it in combination with Wifi Manager (the one by Kostya Vasilyev which is an equally competent app) and the two work very well together. Wish that all Android apps were as good.

S70%
by S####:

This works like it should doesn't switch back and forth if you have two routers sortof close together I have mine set on - 74 dbm so thanks and keep up the good work

So I gave a 5 star review and then after an OS update early Sept 2017 this app does not work anymore. I tried reinstalling and configuring it to act more frequently, but nothing works. Are you going to push an update soon?

R70%
by R####:

Very good. I rarely rate a product but this one just works with minimal almost 0 battery consumption. I live in a big condo with 2 routers, different ssids. This app spares me of manually changing the connection all the time. Thank you.

V70%
by V####:

UH...MY DBM IS -30 SO I'M NOT SURE HOW YOUR APP HELPS. I LIKE IT THOUGH, BUT IT NEEDS TO GO ALL THE WAY, AND SOON CAUSE YOUR NOT SD CARD COMPATIBLE, AND IT'S TAKING UP THE WRONG SPACE. TOO LATE, UNINSTALL :)

S70%
by S####:

It switches wi-fi only with display on. If I change room and leave display off, it doesn't switch. Other than this is great. It works on my S7, no ads. There is a short gap when changing wi-fi and that's normal.

F70%
by F####:

It just works. Set it and forget it...no more having to change between my 2 wireless networks when I go to the other side of my house. Thanks for this awesome app!

S70%
by S####:

This app changed my World! Automatically switches between my Wifi extenders! Never a dead spot anymore! Thank You for this app!!

S70%
by S####:

I don't notice that it's there and it switches between my two AP's, so perfect for my needs.

X70%
by X####:

I dunno why Android tries to cling on to the same ssid even when there is another ssid 10 to 30 dBm better than it (using in Android 6.0, Note 5). I have tried several apps, but NONE were as great and customizable as this one! It's always running in the background with absolutely no impact in battery life. I also like that the free version of this app has no adds or any other weird intrusions. It's so great that it should be built-in to the Android os.

X70%
by X####:

No ads and works great. Just turn on with slider and click save. Though you can adjust signal settings if you'd like to. Great app. It's a time saver from having to switch manually to our other router when I walk around the yard. Thanks.

A70%
by A####:

If you don't particularly care which network you're connecting to as long as it's strong then this app will work for you. However, if you want to establish preferred Networks like I did, then this will not work for you. I wanted to connect to my personal router over the local Xfinity routers in the area because I have security concerns. I could not do that with this app.

X70%
by X####:

Works exactly as you'd expect. Only tiny snag is that if you use wifi calling and move around during a call, this app will change wifi networks and your call will drop. Edit: uninstalled due to endless dropped wifi calls.

X70%
by X####:

Just found this after trying some other painfully slow / cumbersome / barely working apps... It is absolutely fab! You can set it up in 30 seconds and forget it... it does an amazing job!! A must have!!!

N70%
by N####:

It does not do anything. Been playing around a lot with the settings, restarted my device etc but the app simply doesn't do anything.

G70%
by G####:

I'm removing the application due to signal interuption and disconnected Voip calls. I would have given a better rating otherwise

I70%
by I####:

How would i know what wi-fi signal is the weakest and by what db to adjust the swifi settings, there is no indication to say which detected wi-fi signal would be a better connection, and to what amount the settings should be adjusted to, so that swifi would auto switch as and when needed. App is being uninstalled until a better solution is found. It's better to manually switch wi-fi to a known closer connection. This app should be fully automatic, by first detecting any weak signals that are connectible, then compare that signal to the current signal, then auto adjust itself for the best settings, otherwise, as I said, there's no way of knowing the best settings to use without the app constantly switching, and not staying on the strongest connection.

X70%
by X####:

It used to work very well and suddenly it is not switching WiFis anymore.

S70%
by S####:

Does what it says and well, should be a permanent part of Android. Only thing that screws it up is how slow android is at scanning networks.

P70%
by P####:

Works exactly as advertised out of the box. A little fine tuning was possible so I can control within 2 or 3 metres where the network will switch. Thanks for a great app.!

X70%
by X####:

Does not work. Does not switch to 5Ghz even when device lies next to AP for 30minutes. Effectively useless abd false sense of management

X70%
by X####:

Its great that you can see the signal strength in dBm. Works perfectly fine and no annoying advertisement.

X70%
by X####:

Can you provide a history log showing what it switched from, what was switched to, signal strengths at time of switch, and time? Also have a debug setting that pings every time it switches (ping for 3 minutes or something) so I can walk around and see where the network decides to switch.

Q70%
by Q####:

no frills design, simple enough to accomplish automatic switching... also offers positive accessibility with very basic criteria option anyone would need to make it easier to do all kinds of online stuff in potentially any arrangement where there are multiple, consistent AP's available in a general location.

It took me about 3 minutes to download, turn on and prove that it works. Well done guys.

X70%

I have 3 Wifi routers in my home for complete coverage from the alley to the street and this app switches seamlessly. This is especially important to me because I am in a Sprint dead zone and need to rely on WiFi calling on my Samsung phone.

C70%

I needed an app that switches properly between Access Points. I will be buying the pro version shortly.
