Seafile for Android
It doesn't sync on android? O.o Also crashes when trying to upload MP4 videos from the camera folder. Oneplus 3, android 8.
Is it possible to synchronize starred file automatically? Feature request: show status of camera auto-upload.
I downgraded my rating by one star since this app crashes as soon as I click on any file on Android 7.1.1 using external SD memory. I can only browse folders and libraries. It's not possible to down/upload any file. I can't reset the preferences to use internal memory because the app crashes every time I try to change this setting. I've deleted the app, all its data and caches but nothing helps. I hope there will be a fix or workaround soon. I'm still using a self-hosted Seafile server with my desktop computers which is working quite well.
At the base level, it does the actual downloading and uploading of files that one would expect from a cloud server better than any other cloud service. It's more stable, more secure and far easier to set up than any other home solution aside from maybe syncthing... The only problem is that it literally does nothing else. No file syncing which is a massive failure for a cloud server causing me to use third party programs on Android to sync notes and passwords. No developed apps for sms backups or note taking. No local folder integration on the server side... BUT... It's still rock solid. Really if they'd just give us the seadrive alternative on Android that would fix 90% of my criticisms. I could just save files and passwords directly into a synced directory. But the complaint for syncing folders has apparently been an issue for over four years and is still a request that hasn't been addressed or filled so... Don't hold your breath. Good. Brilliant in some aspects, but its limitations keep it from becoming gold. Bittersweet.
Folder sync would be awesome!
Mysteriously cured it's self. All good now
...camera upload is broken.
It is nice and easy to use app. It is sad that there is no option to sync folders to a encrypted library. It would so nice to have this problem fixed.
Great app, and performs the actions needed mostly fine. Thank you for fixing the SD card cache issue in this version, and also the folder list position reset after opening a file (now it does come back where you left, it seems...at least for picture folders). And I LOVE that it shows as a valid document storage option, so it shows on many android file choosers as if it was just local storage....Albeit not the encrypted libraries, those are grayed out at the moment. However, after all this years, this is starting to be a pet peeve for me: Mobile pictures backup really needs improvement. At the moment it still has issues when selecting multiple folders for camera upload, and stops syncing. I'd very much like to be able to choose ANY folder I wanted for sync, not just camera ones.
The app is useless without any folder syncing capability. You can browse your remote files fine, and download individual files, but lacking the feature to synchronise entire folders between your device and seafile server. Desktop app can do this, yet the devs seem reluctant to implement such basic functionality in the mobile app. It makes zero sense. Two stars only because it "works" otherwise.
Why would any sync app not include folder sync!?
Great Thanks
小米安卓系统升级到安卓7以后不同步不了联系人了,希望能更新一下下 总之很好的app
Amazing app
Crashes evertime I try to open a video. File downloads and then the app crashes consistently when the video starts to play. Not wasting more time on this half-closed source project.
The only self hosted service currently not trying to be many things at once. It is a cloud service and its almost excellent at it. Yeah it's doesn't have the add-ons and looks of next cloud or Pydio but they're are painfully slow, most of their android clients didn't work and I have had enough of apps trying to be many things and end up failing at their major functions. Keep working on fine tuning this.
Crashes every time I try to open a folder that contains files. Seafile works great elsewhere, but this makes the app 100% useless.
I have my own seafile server. the android app makes it incredibly easy to sunc files between my laptop and my phone. the app itself is easy to use amd intuitive andbhas not let me down in any way. definitely recommend.
Great app, but it force closes ever since I updated seafood server pro to 6.11. Can't use it now.
Works fine with last update. Thanks for reacting so fast
It crashed when trying to view any file. Running Android 7.1.1
Fantastic way to sync files
It's working but it's not possible to sync automatically documents or what ever you want. Only pictures and videos. New update: sync the contacts doesn't work on Android 7/note 4 resurrection remix.
Fault in the app uses crazy amounts of data trying to upload files. When I download a file to my phone (Nexus 6p), the app keeps trying to re-upload that file back to the server. It fails, and then tries again. This happens over and over until I delete the file from my phone. I had to disable background data over cellular connections for this app to not use up expensive cellular data. Over wifi, I've had it use 30+ GB trying to upload a 5MB file all day. Thank God it didn't do this on a cellular connection. Other than that, it works great.
Dont worry about the bad reviews, they're mostly from people trying to do what Google Photos already does. Anyway... I recently switched from Dropbox to a private NextCloud server which was painfully slow so I set up a Seafile server instead and it's far faster and has much better file history! Sure, Seafile isnt as pretty as Dropbox or NextCloud but it works much, much better.
Works well, but it's only a netdrive client rather than a sync tool. Files have to be added/downloaded manually, no auto-sync function. Downloaded files are just "cache", meaning you have to save it elsewhere or they'll be removed when you clear cache (in settings).
Works well. Sadly there's no two way sync. I experience heavy battery draining since I'm running Android 7.1.1. It sometimes showes up to 15% usage in the Android Battery stats. I haven't had this on Android 6.x
Well, I can browse my files. Upload files? No. Backup photos? No.
That makes this app very limited in functionality. Please make this a priority function to add. I have been following this application for awhile and on a github thread you stated in version 1.5/1.6 we would get entire folder syncing on the Android client.
Cannot limit down/upload, cannot prevent it from trying (and failing to) upload two huge files at once, cannot sync local folders(!!!!), fails to upload large files if the Internet is too slow (even if it does upload, it cancels after a few minutes and retries forever, killing the connection for others), and the photo uploader sometimes uploads duplicates. That said it works and doesn't crash often, really digging the camera upload feature, and browsing through your uploaded photos in the app works well.

I'm using seafile on a private server and it was working wonderfully. But from last few days the android client is not able to list my files. It connects to server and show the libraries but when you open the libraries they are shown empty. I'm currently using samsung note 4, please solve this problem. Thanks
Love the app, recent versions crash when attempting camera folder upload. Checked the git repo and it appears this has been fixed. Any ETA on when a new version will be deployed on google play?
Make photo backups clear. They happen in the background but without any notification so I have no idea what us going on. A photo backups status would be nice.
For Seafile.
Installed it. Configured the upload with the damn nice wizard. Had to open some ports on my server and now it works well. I've had some problems with uploads failing when the phone is going to sleep, but they resume just fine.
I'd like to see folder sync for all folder types not just photos. I'd also like the option to both mirror (like iCloud) and one way write (perpetual backup).
It won't synchronise my photos (failed). The app crashes when it tries to display a folder that contains a file (folders that contains folders are fine)
crashes all the time. it crashed when I was syncing 200 files, and after that I had to manually select all of them again. Also, it tried uploading recently downloaded files back to the server.

Love the app and love the platform. Auto-Sync for camera roll works very well and server side can handle my file amount very easily.
