iHome Control for Android
Would give 5 stars except the instructions don't tell you avoid setting up on a Guest network on your router. Support was also unaware of issues with Guest networks. Not sure what the problem is, but the restricted access allowed via a Guest network made for connection problems and I couldn't complete the setup. Connecting to a non-Guest network worked first time. After successful setup, it has worked flawlessly. I tried the push notifications, which all worked great. I'm completely satisfied.
Wall plugs are absolute junk, will not connect with any of my android devices. Basically just cost me an extra trip to the store and a wait in the customer-service line, because these will be returned. After an hour on the phone with customer-service they said that they would email me within 2 days. Email within two day?! No thanks, I'll just take my $50 back. Last time I impulse buy without checking reviews first.
Setup is way easier than WeMo! Connecting to Google Home was easier too. Just one thing. Make sure your phone is connected to you 2.4Ghz WiFi first. It uses your current WiFi to connect the device and it won't work on 5ghz.
After a hr of trying to get it to take the pin Number.. I called and got help.. 15 mins on hold.. then it said it worked!.. yeah.. then it wanted to update.. now it still won't work..what gives with that.. ? 6 hrs in and I am still with 2 non working plugs..
I own 3 iSP5's that I connect through Alexa. All of a sudden after months they stopped working. Can't re-add device. Support site is completely useless.
Nothing but errors. So set up on my iPad but the Google app just goes through the entire set up then gives me an error. Forces me to start again. It's useless.
My Wink does not recognize my products. I bought them because they were supposed to be compatible. They work with the iHome app, but not the Wink app.
Would give a zero if possible. Worthless product and service. Return this junk!
Literal piece of junk. Had it for over a year and it just doesn't work. I was hoping a future update would fix things, but there are still constant errors. Couldn't even get it set up.
Won't let me reset it to add new device so I can use it. This has happened about 5 times now
Guessing the login site is down? Not able to login with the app and the support page listed isn't resolving. May have to return it.
Older version wouldn't pair with ISP8s out of the box, but developer was responsive to review as well as email and offered steps involving airplane mode on my phone and back to back ISP8 resets. Between the extra steps and an app update, my ISP8s are now paired and can be turned on and off with the app. Accurately shows whether ISP8 is on or off and logs when that state changes. It's a little bit too easy to accidentally toggle power when attempting to tap the info icon to view device details. Generates graphs of kWh and cost with ability to configure price per kWh. Unfortunately, consumption reporting granularity appears limited to one-hour buckets, so you can't watch consumption change in real-time as your adjust appliance settings, and will just have to wait out two hours to see the new consumption info reflected as a single 1-hour data point in the "day" graph (the first new data point after your change would represent an hour of partially pre-change and partially post-change consumption values, the weight of each dependent on how far into the 1-hour period you made the change; the second data point reflects purely the consumption behavior after your change). Oddly, app shows one of my plugs as not in use when appliance is definitely consuming power through it. No idea if that's the app or the ISP8 at fault.
So bad. So bad. So bad. It wasted my 30 mins trying to setup again and again. It never works on my 2.4G WiFi router. I will return it
Garbage, says incorrect pin for smart plug despite being exactly what comes in the packaging. Don't buy
Every time I try to connect device it tells me error, forget this WiFi network
It took quite sometime to set up, but has been working ok ever since. I'm thinking of getting a 2nd one, but after reading some reviews, I may have to try something else.
Recently I updated this app and now the 2 smartplugs no longer connect, very disappointing since they were working fine before
Won't connect. Will update if issue is resolved.
This app is working great, provides me to turn on my lights/whatever and turn it off, thanks
2 stars bcs. Don't push me to rate. You want rate here you go. I want turn my light not be asking rate it.
Vacation home. Allows me to control various home appliances from another state.
Need to have a regional sunset option. Automatic recalculate of sunset for turning on light or closing electric blinds.....
Good, but not very pretty!
I cant even sign up.... Nevertheless use it..
Need to contact ihome to setup. After that it works very good.
Works as advertised. Easy to access online. No problems.
Great Product. No issues at all
Great app ,works every time
Works goodly
Very good for my needs... love it
Can't connect to plug on a 2.4GHz network with a Google Pixel phone. I see other reviews that have the same issue and iHome responds that they send a special procedure to there users to fix this.... Please send to me or post on your support page! Very frustrating!
Set up with 2 Smart Plugs for controlling the lights for pets that need heat lamps. These are small 50 to 150 watt loads. Worked fine for 2 weeks and now the devices lost their mind and do not work on the schedule anymore. Also, the app shows the devices aren't connected but shown in use. How can it be not connected and in use. Furthermore one of the devices that is shown as not connected can be turned off from the app but not the other one. Experiences like this limit the IoT device market potential.
DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR DEMAND A REFUND WHILE YOU CAN. Update of the update. The resolved issues came back even glitchier. glitchy. HAVE HAD THESE MORE THAN A YEAR. After hrs of resetting and re linking and re making timers again and again AND doing everthing right. They repeatedly fail again and again.with 7 i home plugs i gave up using them as timers for lighting or anything useful. DONT WAIST YOUR MONEY AND DEMAND A REFUND
Damn thing works for a while then disconnects and can't reconnect. It's great when it works. I have Samsung S8. Took a lot of time and patience to finally get it to connect then recently disconnected again. Been trying everything and still won't connect. Ugh!
This seems to be a lightweight version of the corresponding iOS app. It seems to talk to the device via the cloud so it can't be used to turn a local plug controlling your router or cable modem back on after turning it off nor can it be used for anything without the internet? It also doesn't offer realtime energy monitoring, but only daily monthly yearly stats and graphs. The iOS app can connect locally via HomeKit and I presume that provides complete control locally without internet and access to realtime Watt usage.
When it works, it's great. A few things to note of you are having trouble setting up your device: 1) Make sure you are connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network prior to attempting setup, not 5GHz. 2) Temporarily disable "smart network switching" in WiFi setings while performing setup. -- Note to developer, please add better troubleshooting support to the app with my notes above. May be sufficient to add simple text to the "reset the device" setup page. Also, add notification in the app if the server is down, rather than simply indicating that the device is no longer connected to the cloud. I spent hours trying to troubleshoot an issue that was out of my control, and would have simply bypassed the device temporarily if I had known the server was the issue. Also, please add wigits to easily control smart plugs from my home screen. I'll update my rating to 5 stars with these improvements.
I had 3 units that worked flawlessly for a couple weeks and when I added a 4th it all went to $hit. Now they sometimes work and I keep getting a firmware update notice but nothing updates. So irritated. Might have to ditch these and go full z-wave.
Please connect to WiFi. That's all this app says. I set up and locked it to both 2.4ghz and 5ghz and both gave the same "Please connect to WiFi" error. All these plugs and smart sensors were 95% off now I know why.
The product says it is compatible with samsung smart things, but when linked up, there is no integration. There is no control option other than using the iHome app. (USELESS IF SO) I will be returning and getting a new product.

The smart plugs work well, the app not so much. Alexa controls my 2 iSP6 smart plugs well, but the iHome app suddenly decided that it only wants to think one exists and can't find the other one. Rebooting the router and modem and even unplugging the plug hasn't done anything. It's not bad since I really only use them with Alexa.
