Redding Record Searchlight

Since the upgrade I've lost all my saved articles and I'm unable to make any comments as I don't see a comments section at the end of each article. On the positive side, I'm able to read five different newspapers from the USA Today network of papers.

Format is hard to follow. All the ads injected between real news headlines are disruptive and hard to follow. I've almost clicked on what I thought were news stories,but were actually ads. I liked the old format so much better. Now I can't specify state,national,or world news either.

I live in Houston Mo, but will be moving to Redding after I get married. I wanted to find out what was happening there. I love it. Thank you. God bless.

Works perfectly! New app from RS and USA Today is smooth and easy to navigate.

Was unable to load the new app to my Android phone because it's not available from the Google Play store. The old app just takes me to a page that says "saved stories".

Just takes me to "saved stories" but there is no way to navigate out. No wonder why the RS is struggling, cant put out a decent paper, cant afford to make a functional app, time to hang it up RS.

Was able to load new app on iPad but only old one comes up in Google play for my phone.

It's stupid how you have to pay for a subscription

I was checking the local news and found a good article about the commissioner of redding approved a zip line. I sent the story to my kids and a friend who was interested in somthing like that. Because it sounds like fun. Then I was going to show another friend but I was blocked from the story now! Just 30 min ago I got the whole story. Now I need to buy the paper before I can read it! That's BULL! !I UNINSTAL!

I subscribe to this digital version and it would be nice if I could see my comments that I leave. Are they being held up in moderation que? Who knows?

It's not the newspaper. It's a mess of popups and ads. And sometimes the photo in the article doesn't appear. And why all the solicitations to subscribe now?I am a subscriber!

Such as "collision blocking southbound lanes of" Then clicking takes you to the "Happening Now" page, which doesn't have the info yet...this happens frequently!

Takes a while to load. Alerts don't bring you to the breaking news story.

I would give it more but it won't let me log in so I can't see some stories.

Will NOT let you read the full stories. Says u need to subscribe to the paper. Too bad u can read all these stories for free online. I think I'll keep my money and not be too lazy to use chrome

Breaking news alerts now take you straight to the story & the tablet view has been optimized. Good work!

No way to read local stories and no way to subscribe this paper Sucks.

Just wish i knew a day or two in advance what events are coming up.

I wish there weren't do many editorials! Just stick to the news. Maybe have a section just for peoples opinion articles. I hate having to sift through!

Disappointed in the amount of content. The business section had a spattering of articles, some woefully outdated. Missing some of my favorite columns.

Saves me from killing a tree. Enjoy having the news on my phone.

Much better than the mobile version

Poorly designed. No ability to post to comments. you would think the record searchlight would want readers to interact . The nonmobile website works far better than the app. Uninstalled, going to cancel my subscription and put that money towards my netflix account. I feel my money will be better spent on something I get enjoyment from.

If you want to sell your news, that's fine. But don't LIE about the app being free. Your app is useless without the content. As soon as I open the "free" app you want me to buy a subscription to read the article. That really makes the app NOT free.

All of a sudden the app will not allow updates. I uninstalled it. Please fix it

Breaking news alerts do not take you to the story when tapped. They take you to the last story you were reading. Seems silly that they don't fix that. I also get consistent messages that I need to subscribe to read a story but I AM subscribing! Annoying!

Excellent way to read local paper IF you are already Subscriber. Why not use ads to support this distribution?

I hate when I get an important alert and click to read the story and its not there! Even after clicking refresh.

App is pointless! Any article that is worth reading you are not given permission to read! They give you a paragraph then this: " You must be a subscriber to view this story. Please log in using your Record Searchlight account to read the full story." As if that isn't bad enough I've been trying to sign up but I get errors, denial of service and browser crashes! I miss my news app!
