Camera fo check deposits won't focus. Unusable!

It locks up and makes it difficult to complete a transaction.

Decent app with room to grow. I can't sort activity on one stock; i.e., can't see dividends on just 1 stock like MAT. I can't see only cash/check deposits. Other shows all types of deposits (position related, cash/check, etc). Overall, I like it. Having access on an app is great. Keep it secure (!) and update key features including the back button issue discussed by others. And I'm able to check my kids account too so that's a bonus

It's an alright app. There hasn't been a material design refresh for the 2 years I've had it. And now it shows that I've somehow made 100% return on each stock, when I clearly know I haven't. Not sure why that's happening to be honest. Other than those 2, it's not a bad app. You can buy, sell, look at your history, create watch lists, etc.

For check deposit the app does not set the camera to focus properly. It does not adjust the focus at all. The check pictures are not properly readable. In my case I used a BLU H1D1 and a Samsung Note 4. Same thing on both, the camera does not focus. If I just use the camera outside the Scottrade app, it focuses nice on the checks.

Edited: Last update didn't fix the back button exit annoyance. Original review: Common ScottTrade developers. You're not developing for IOS. This is Android and we have the best feature ever: the back button. So please fix that. Back button doesn't mean exit the app. It should mean back. Just back. Back to last window or option. That's a annoying bug you created after previous updates...

The new update shows my gains/ loses as how much my stock is worth. It always looks positive, but I know it's not. Please fix this! I see green and get exited. Only to be let down!

Slow to update stock info, not as fast as the website. Info for options, and options trading on it is horrific and it's very confusing how options you have sold are listed in your account. Very poor compared to the website options functionality needs work.

The account information now only shows total value, not gain/loss. This really stinks. Clearly a defect as many others are reporting the same issue. Please correct this its a showstopper. They fixed it. Yea.

Top news is from April 11 (almost 1 month old). All my stocks are showing 100% gain today. What else could be wrong? This app is not trustworthy.

It's a great app for on the go. Today (5/8/17) my portfolio gain/loss is showing 100% and Total G/L% for all my stock is showing 100%. I wish my stock where doing that good. Also the top stories hasn't updated sense 4/11/17

It crashed my Samsung Note Edge. After using it for the first time the camera would not focus on a check I wanted to deposit, then the phone went completely dead. It would not turn on no matter what I did. I even contacted the insurance company to get it replaced. Before sending it off I took the battery out over night, and after putting back in it revived. After thinking it was a one time occurrence I tried the app again. The same scary thing happened. I uninstalled it.

The app's fine for account info. But is anyone looking into the photo problems? The Scottrade app will not focus. I've tried to make a deposit with this app five times today, and it still tells me that it can't read the account numbers. Any ideas? [Edit] The developer's advice worked. The app does not focus automatically as do most banking apps.. However, if you press the screen for a second or two and release, the app will focus enough to read the check. Thanks for the help.

Great app but I tried to deposit a check and it would not focus on the check. Too blurry to submit. My other bank apps on my phone work perfectly to deposit checks through the phone camera.

ATTENTION WE HAVE AN URGENT MOBILE SOFTWARE CRISES. Where your positions are, in the Total G/L %, $ It only shows the total amount of your shares at the current price. It used to show your total profit or loss per position. This just happened after your update!!!! PLEASE FIX!!!!!! URGENT

It would be great if you didn't get logged out every 15 to 20 minutes. It's also annoying that you can't set a default ticker watch list as your landing screen, you're stuck with a device specific watch list as the default.

Love it instant access to your stock status. Would like to see the time frame rember your setting, example if you bought stocks a year ago and want tosee what you bought them at you select all i want the app to rember tha selection after you logout. Or ether put the purchase price in the stock status would be nice.

Today my total gain/loss..And gain/loss % is showing 100% for all stocks..It was working fine until today. Somebody else also posted a similar issue.

First minute into the app and found out back button closes the app wherever you are. Any professional Android developer would know this is no-no. Who is developing this app?

Can't deposit because checks are blurry. Does not focus. Holding my finger down does not work. Irritating.

I'm unable to take a picture at all using the mobile deposit section. I haven't gotten past that part to know if it's good for anything else

New review: Something is being miscalculated. Some of my stocks are showing a gain, when in fact I know I am at a loss. What is going on?! First review: Why can't I create alerts?! I try to set up push notifications, but it won't let me. Still a little buggy. Please add nexus 7 support!

Very unintuitive layout and redundant to navigate. Android back key and the app back key flip-flop roles for no reason. Dashboard looks busy, but actually quite simplistic - can't customize very basic ideas like expanded watch list, or current holding. Current position also lacks quick glance customization; has to swipe through a bunch of crap just for one number. Too much horizontal and not enough vertical. Ultimately app overall is inconsistent, sometime it loads in a second, sometime 15 - using the app feel very unsure of when it'll crash. How can a no-name brokerage made a more user friendly app than a major one? Haven't try any of the banking features, but base on reviews they don't even sound functional.

I've had this app for 2 years, and still no function for researching or trading mutual funds via mobile, and now constant issues with both mobile and the website reporting avg unit cost incorrectly, making it nearly impossible to track investment performance without a third-party tool. What's the point? Getting very close to just switching brokerages because of the lack of useful tools.

Outage is very common for this app, wrong reporting on total gain and loss could have made wrong decision due to wrong info in my account.

I downloaded this app to be able to make a deposit without having to mail a check or go to a local branch. When I click on check deposit, it doesn't show my accounts if I click select account and then it freezes up. Same experience on both a Motorola X Pure Edition and Google Pixel. So much for convenience!

Same problem as Jeff W. Below. Shows 100% gain on all stocks and total portfolio. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling twice.

This app is so horrible I'm moving my money to another company. Outdated, ugly, clunky, avoid at all costs.

Fix your app...my gain/loss for each individual stock isn't working right...shows the value of stock that i own as opposed to gains/loss

Update: This app works much better. This app has started opening by it's self after the latest update. Please look into this matter.

scottrade, get ur act together! i thought i made it as scottrade app showed 100% returns for all my stocks! i was about to buy a million dollar painting on ebay too! luckily i double checked before i pressed the buy button! it aint real brothers! seriously scottrade? come on now!

It would be nice to have %52week low, %52week high, and $change fields on the position and watch list. I like how you can customize the fields on the desktop version. You can stack %change and$ change in one column. Also the total G/L% on the position page always display 100% for all positions. Please fix it.

It's very inaccurate right now. Apparently right now all my stocks are 100% up today.

Only good for monitoring the positions. Don't have analyst report and stock screener features like web site. Wish it could have the both. Can't research through the app.

Is there anyway to actually see the price of an option contract before purchasing it? Without seeing the bid/ask, how am I supposed to set a limit order? App is essentially useless for options trading unless I'm missing something. Thanks.

The gains and loses portion of this app is not working properly.

Latest version has major bug: I'm showing 100% gain on all stocks. Wish it was true!

As others have reported, the "Total G/L S/%" summary in the app is showing total shares value and shows 100% gain for all listed assets. This is a major bug and hopefully is being addressed this week.
