About Learning 911

Children who know how to call 911 in an emergency could save a life. Teach your child how to dial 911 and it could save yours!

Created by a father of two kids (and amateur app developer, so please be kind!) who found teaching and practicing dialing 911 difficult without accidentally calling the police!

Within minutes of using this app, the young child will have a clear understanding of how to dial for help, how to press the call button, and will enjoy the sample dialogue with the 911 operator. Seeing and hearing the friendly police car, fire truck, and ambulance drive across the screen will add to the excitement of learning about emergencies!

Note to Parents: In response to some reviews, voice content is in the works. In the meantime, you are encouraged to actively engage your child while using this app since some reading is required. It also doesn't hurt that you spend time with your child to teach them what do in an emergency and not rely on an app created by a stranger to do it for you ;)

**This app will NOT really call 911. It is meant as an educational tool to teach, learn, and practice ONLY. It is NOT to be used in an actual emergency!**

Considering the target audience is pre-readers, having the questions printed on the screen, instead of read aloud, isn't very helpful. Aside from finding the numbers on the keypad, it isn't terribly useful. Not worth $.99.

I just down loaded this app. I plan on using it with my niece and nephew. One thing I do wish they did with this app is have the "dispatcher" actually talk to you instead of having to read it. My niece and nephew are just learning to read. Other than that its a good app

It's a great app and great tool. Should be used often for practice. You never know when your child may need to call 911. One suggestion and already communicated with the dev who is very responsive (thank you! ) add sound so the kids can actually hear the voice on the other side asking the same question.

I thought the app would at least read out the message its displaying to the children like a real dispacher but it just shows text messages. Who text 911?
