Swapps! All Apps, Everywhere

Have been looking for this type of app for some time, but all the ones I tried have fallen short for one reason or other, Swapps gives me everything I need, and more! As far as adverts are concerned, they are at the bottom of the app, and certainly not obtrusive, well done to the developer.

It's useful having the apps available at the side but the more useful function for me is having quick access to the widgets I place at the top. The problem is, the app squashes the widgets on the screen and there's no settings I can see to make them full screen.

The most recent attempt I made to alert them was in Aug. 2016 and they wrote that they'd get back to me as soon as possible. So, they lied. Are they just petty thieves? Too bad. Counted on app (paid) for a long time. They reflect badly on Google and Android.

I am really considering unins talling this, because it stops constantly. If it keeps doing this, I will have no choice. Updated : I liked it, but it keeps not working, so I Uninstalled it. I have to constantly keep clicking the app button to get it to work again! Defeats the purpose of being a quick access! Now I have "dock 4 droid" now and it is pretty awesome. Try it, you'll like it!

I miss the recent apps feature. I also purchased this app and still doesn't have it. Also, even if I have Swapps in my notification bar it disappears everyday... Any fix? It's really incoinvient and makes this app less usable. Samsung Galaxy S 6, will rate back to 5 stars if the app stops disappearing in my notification bar and starts working when I slide to open it. Thank you. Have had this app for years. Would like to keep it.

It hides the edge screen and then makes the background of the edge panel solid instead of being transparent when used in the background on my Note Edge. Hope you can fix that so I can give it a 5 start rating. Thanks guys for the great app!

Update: finally decided to buy full version, so nice. I didn't think it could get any better but it did. Very pleased! I've tried several of these apps and this is the best one I've found so far-simple, straightforward and easy to use.

Regardless of the position, left or right, up or down or center, ActiveSpot prevents underling command, enterkey, keyboard letters, etc., from being accessible forcing user to deactivate Swapps (many unnecessary keys) . SOLUTION; Make ActiveSpot movable AND lockable in the position, so the user can reach the underlying action, and slide the ActiveSpot when done. And that's the best solution I can think of to make Swapps massively more usable. OR add a toggle button right on the ActiveSpot.

It's Really Great! But three things I Suggested, First add a folder option, second give option to reduce the pad height for one hand use. Finally add a pad design to edges like round, curve. If it really does you can get the number one place! Thanks!

One of th best 'sidebar' type out there. I've tried about more than 20. Swapps is Fast, easy and intuitive to use, which is very important. What's the point of a sidebar if you can't quickly adapt it to what you need. The only two missing feature are: 1) Folders. Yes, folders. Group a few apps into one "spot". 2) Make widgets functional within the bar itself, instead of just an icon which pops up a floating window, thus missing the whole point of a widget.

Still the best for my own needs, but it is a shame that the dev hasnt updated it for nearly 2 years now. UI is now antique, and other sidebar apps offer now some interesting features that Swapps lacks (And will lack forever as it is abandoned). Dont let such a great product slowly die!

It's very convenient to open a app in the middle of another app without having to go to the app drawer and search for a app. It is sad that Google removed the permission to see recent apps, but other app developers have come up with workarounds,I hope the dev of Swapps does to.

The lack of recents or running apps means this is just a launcher that could interfere with other swipes around the target area. For a similar experience but more options and Recents support, try Dock4Droid. For even better features try OmniSwitcher (not available as an app - you need to flash it or be root)

This app does exactly what I want it to do, however it randomly disappears from the side of my phone and I have to constantly reload the app. It's very annoying and I might have to uninstall it.... EDITED -- the fix for this seems to be keeping the icon visible on the top of the phone... if you choose to remove it, the phone seems to forget the app is there

Amazing app and I've been using it for a long time. Now I'm forced to uninstall because it stops working constantly, Even if you have the icon visible in the toolbar it disappears few times per day and I have to open the app again. Not useful at all therefore uninstall

Stays out of the way when it's not needed, is easily accessible when it is needed, and always works. Have been using Swapps for nearly a year and I'm having trouble remembering one problem. Thanks to whoever made you.

Used to love this app. I cannot use it any more to toggle between screens with ease. It doesn't work for more than a few hours with the Marshmallow update, which I hate!! Have had to uninstall it and try another similar app.

Fits my requirements almost perfectly. Better than others of its kind like Omni Swipe, CM Swipe, etc. App icons need refinement. Couple of features required: 1. Memory optimization 2. Ability to change icons. 3. Ability to add columns to reduce the need to scroll down too much. DRAWBACK: Causing memory issues leading to lags. For those on recent versions of Android, if you find the app has arbitrarily closed, it is likely that Android has closed it to prevent memory leak.

Starts up CONSTANTLY in the background (secretly) on it's own... DEVELOPERS- Why on earth would you make the app do that?? That causes the battery to DRAIN! Have you forgotten that our cellphones are USELESS if the battery dies?! I'm Fed up & uninstalling immediately!

Upgraded to a Huawei p8 max, 5.1.1 lollipop. Swapps installed fine, but can't get the side bar to open when swiping from side. Uninstalled and reinstalled several times. Any fixes?

I love this app. It allows me to have all my favorite apps close, and doesn't clutter up my home screen. (Definitely purchase the full version... it's worth it)

I was searching some alternative to replace my physical home button on the phone, fortunately i found this app and now I don't need the home screen, it's like extremely convenient, also it is very small size so doesn't effect the ram that much, a must have indeed!!

Great idea but these days the launcher keeps deactivating. Frustrating. 5 stars if you can fix this rather critical problem.

Its better than ALL of the multi tasking apps BUT it would be allot better if you could make a mini window for things like texting. Not sure about how easy that is to code though...

UPDATE 23/03/17: There absolutely needs to be an option to block the active zone in full screen apps. Having Swapps activate during games and videos is an incredible pain. This does exactly what is advertised and generally does it smoothly. There really isn't anything negative I can say about its functionality. The reason it gets three stars is because it does not incorporate third party icon packs, which really disrupts the visual aesthetics. If support for icon packs was incorporated this would be five stars.

Will you be creating an android 5 version which includes the "recent apps" feature? Nice addition to my already efficient Android device. Even the new Samsung Note is copying the idea of a sidebar. 12/15 edit. I bought a note 5 and it is Android 5.1.1, not much different than my note 3, but I no longer have many options for app shortcuts including contact direct dial. Any idea why?

OK. I have bought and tested at least ten of these for my Note 5. All were buggy, froze my phone or just did not work. Now this one is the bomb! Don't know why it is so hard to find in the store but I'm glad I did. Works awesome. Allows me to add what I want, has cool features, and does what I need it to do. Changed to a 5 rating because truly awesome, Replaced note 12 tablet stock sidebar with swapps,

This is the app I've been looking for for quick access to most used apps and contacts both. Except I put my apps icon under this and when it didn't open well.... also power went out went to get flashlight app and guess what.. wouldn't open ! I really want to like this app please fix

AWESOME free app guys. Oh the time I suffered without this app! Why hasn't this app come ore-installed on EVERY phone I've ever owned? Hey Cell Phone Mfgs, LOOK HERE.. THIS is the way it's done! I love the ease in which I can bring up my favorite apps. As a suggestion it would great if we could adjust the active areas position other than top middle or bottom.

Not a bad app. Does what it advertises. No annoying adds really (except for the free apps prompt at the bottom which isn't bothersome). Could use a little polishing to remove some visual clutter such as the scroll bar always being shown even when there is no where to scroll too. Also would be great to have a hide text option (might be available in the paid version, I don't know). All in all pretty happy with it. Edit: paid for the app, can remove text. Good app.

Exactly what I needed for switching between apps from any screen. Don't get me wrong android 5.0 panels are great, you can only go to apps you've opened already. This works amazingly and cleanly with no stutter or lag. Customization is easy and convenient. Totally worth the price.

This app makes switching from one app to another virtually painless. Easy concept and easy to implement. I have a Note 3 with its native dual window, but the way that works is annoying to me, and there are only a few pre-selected apps to use. Swapps is very easy to configure and use.

EDIT Sadly the most recent Android update has among other things, severely damaged the usefulness of this app. Recent apps was it's best feature. Forced to uninstall. Now off to figure our why Android has completely ruined my keyboard And so many other things as wel Swapps has gradually become an indispensable aspect of my Android experience. I was timid at first, but in time grew to rely on the features it offers every time I use the device. It's now an integral part of the phone. Highly recommended.

This app is a good mobile alternative to the minimize window on a computer. Since my Mac died, I've been restricted to doing everything on my mobile devices. This app addresses the issue of working between multiple apps without viewing them side by side or on a single screen. It allows quick, ez access 2 apps (via transparent slide-out panel) saving extra steps with going "home." The customizable app shortcuts is especially useful! Features I'd like added: 1) Ability to have file shortcuts (maybe as a widget?); 2) Ability to drag & drop files into app icon to open them; 3) Moving/copying files into folders via drag & drop to organize file structure. Excellent, must-have app, and with a super-small file size! Great job Devs!

Gravity spot is best set in the center on the right side. All apps in alfabetical order & quick scroll is very handy, fast & much more. Great for quick uninstalling apps that are not used very often. It is very useful to handle all apps , move to SD etc. Great! After longer than 2 years since instilling Swapps I still like it & use it everyday. All that providing that whomever is using Swapps keeps his Android clean with preferably Clean Master & uses superior Smart phone like I use Samsung Galaxy Note 3 .

I tried the app in my phone and found very useful. Now we can have the swipe at only from one side - left/right. If we can enable it from both side's it would be very easy to handle single handedly by any hands. Also it will be great if we can configure both sides independently also. Also think of swiping from bottom also.
