About TypeOnPC
Enter lengthy text with the comfort of your PC' keyboard, then use this easy app to bring the text to your smartphone.
Do you often enter text on your smartphone's tiny on-screen keyboard? Are you doing this even when you're sitting at a PC (at work, home etc.)? Then why don't you use the PC's comfortable keyboard for text entry? This free and simple app lets you do just that! No cables, no bluetooth connection, no special PC software required: all you need is a normal Internet connection and a web browser on your PC.
Here's how it works:
1) When you start TypeOnPC for the first time, it automatically registers with the central TypeOnPC server. No data entry is necessary: no email address, no user name, no phone number - nothing. Just start the app and you will receive your own personal web link for text entry on the PC's web browser.
2) Your personal web link is about 140 random characters long (for good privacy), but you don't need to write it down and type it manually in your PC's browser! Instead, there's a better, much easier way: click the app's button "Transfer Link". This will generate a 16 digit code, which is valid for 10 minutes. Within that time, go to the main TypeOnPC web site (www.scabra.com/typeonpc) and enter that code. This will take you to your own personal web site, from where you can copy your link (and ideally store it as a bookmark). You can repeat these steps as often as you want, and you can use the same web link on as many PCs (or other devices) as you like.
3) Now you're all set and ready to use TypeOnPC!
4) From now on, whenever you need some lengthy text on your smartphone (for texting, email, new contact names etc.), simply use your PC and go to your own personal TypeOnPC web site.
5) Type your text (enjoying the comfort of your PC's keyboard) and click "Enter text".
6) On your smartphone, start the TypeOnPC app and click "Load Text": the text that you entered on the PC now appears in the app. Click "Copy to Clipboard" to copy it.
7) Go to the app where you need the text and use your smartphone's normal method to paste the text.
