This application looks pretty polished - but one cannot view content unless you first register for an account. If this were not enough, "smart" televisions powered by Android TV are not supported! A very poor effort from a television network that often has surprisingly high-quality content.

Its previous release was a bit buggy but quite usable. But this is like it's reverted back to the original beta release. After an ad, the program starts from the beginning, you can't get past the first ad. The Chromecast control crashes once the screensaver kicks in. And numerous other annoyances that were eliminated in the previous release but have somehow managed to creep back in.

Terrible, it's astonishing how poor this app is. Ads cause a lot of issues, very slow and buggy. Rewinding and fast forwarding takes so long I don't bother anymore. I can also chromecast from my phone but not my laptop? So many flaws, needs a huge overhaul

Like all the other users, I have had a similar experience with casting over chromecast. These issues have only occured very recently, so I dont know what they changed with the last update, but it's really very frustrating. The ads repeat, then crash, then the episode restarts for no reason- it's ridiculous. I'd even be happy to purchase the app if it meant it would actually work!

Buggy. Randomly restarts video during playback and then doesn't allow you to fast forward to where you were without watching every set of ads again. Very annoying. Won't continue to use app if this continues to happen.

For those of you who are giving bad reviews, take one minute to think. This is an excellent app I get my football highlights and there are some good shows on this keep an open mind 5/5 good app

Shockingly bad app. Used to be really good but now i can't watch a thing on Chromecast as it keeps on going back to the start. Hating it!! Bloody fix it.

Could be so good but the app is bug ridden. Programs restart from the beginning, get stuck in ad loops, doesn't remember where you left off. Not good enough for a major channel like SBS.

So buggy! Haven't been able to play anything for days, it just keeps crashing. Really disappointing when the TV broadcast is constantly plugging the app. Come on SBS!

Was really enjoying River Cottage Australia. But now the only episodes available are the first five. I've already watched them. Where are the current episodes? And wouldn't the older episodes expire first? What bollocks!

Has become unwatchable. Shows keep jumping back to the start. Then the controls to skip back to where you were don't respond. Have to close down and restart the app. This is using Chromecast. Also, picture quality is poor. Sad state of affairs when pirating content is easier and better.

Buggy as anything. I wouldn't mind the ads if they didn't cause the whole show to restart. Take the mid show ads out until you fix that issue or you will just drive people away.

Horrible. Can't even log in on my OPPO phone, but totally unwatchable using Galaxy Tab and Chrome cast. Uninstalling

Terribly buggy. Ads crash it, can't resume after stopping to do something else. At the moment I can't even get the episode to start playing again from the beginning, after having to stop watching to do something else. What rubbish. How about you fix it?

too buggy. works ok if you watch a movie/show in one hit, but you can't pick up where you left off or the forced ad breaks will restart the episode at start. glitchy makes it annoying as hell, but it does have a good selection of content.

Buggy as hell, forces you to watch ads at the start then later it glitches when it plays the second batch of ads and sends you back to the start of the episode. Then if you try to scrub to get back to where you were up to, yet MORE ads. Up your game

2017-I haven't really used this app for a number of years, but it is still frustrating and slow. Ads are more important than the programmes, and it still occasionally hangs after the THREE ads! Then when it boots you out after the ad, it forgets where you are, and you have to watch all the ads again to get back to where you were. It is so disappointing that so little has improved over the last 3 years. On top of this the content is sleazier and seedier than it was three years ago. I mainly watch SBS for outstanding documentaries, but so many are just reality TV. 2014 -The content is great but the app hangs after each ad. Support advises to delete the app and reinstall, but this does nothing. Very frustrating.

Great content, but the app is terrible. Very difficult to keep track of where one is up to on series (it doesn't mark shows as watched); cannot move forward or backward in small increments (i.e., there is no 10 or 30 second skip button); painful to navigate through app; closed captions button does not seem to work; have to scroll right through shows rather than scroll down page; does not keep track of where one is up to in individual episodes; cannot mark shows as watched, so have to scroll to end to get it off "continue watching" section (& endure ads whilst doing so). I don't understand why it's so poor, there are lots of similar content providers' apps with which SBS can compare...

Reasonable app and great selection of shows and movies but the search feature doesn't work properly and the categories can be lacking. Eg of I search 'trav' I get no results but if I go through the list of every available show I can eventually find travel man.

SBS. Please invsst in a decent app. The previous app was buggy and unusable. Your current version is a bit less buggy but still unusable.

Rubbish. Has never worked correctly on galaxy 8+. Always loses connection. Will not use again.

Sbs have great content but I should have listed to the reviews on this app. It's glitchy as and seems to have issues running on my android phone.

This app has been updated and it is great. Now can you get the same ppl to code the app for PlayStation 4 because the PS4 SBS app sucks balls.

I am unable to go beyond the initial ad so can't watch the desired program. Use to be good not sure if this is update related or not.

WHY does the next episode not automatically load or even give you the option when your watching a series. You have to completely search for the series again to find the next episode.

Shows kept cutting out after first ad and then replayi g from start. You could sort ot eventually but I lost interest in trying as it became exhausting.

Absolutely rubbish app. Shows restart every time an ad plays. It has been like this for months.

Very unreliable. Constant crashes. If internet cuts out, the video closes and cannot resume

At first I experienced difficulties accessing the apps listed programmes. Now I am delighted to view the contents of this app for the first time.

Good range I love having access to international catalogues but at what price.. your ads are worse than any other app. At least the commercial stations Only have them at certain places throughout the show. This app makes you watch more ads each time you pause or accidently bump the screen (there is not a screen lock option to prevent this like some other apps so it happens more than you think) not to mention the many times you may need to exit for a call or so forth. It's relentless.Many of these times the Ads cause the actual media problems and you end up with the sound and media being incongruous and you have to start it all again and of course endure more ads. This does little to make me want to have anything to do with sbs or any brands I'm bombarded with. I was a huge fan of sbs prior to this but this has really left me feeling like all u care about is advertising revenue.

Crappy app forces you to answer so many questions and create an account just to watch one show. Not worth it. Just like the crappy 9 app. They should take a cue from abc iview.

Fine. No dramas watching shows. Still could have a better layout. Just make it a simple Wikipedia style, no frills, easy to navigate version. But for what it is, 5 stars. Keep producing good Australian content like the family law and sunshine ????

This app needs an urgent update- so glitchy & resets back to the start after an ad ?? Really want to stream on Chromecast but keeps going back to the start and glitching out .. Terrible :(

On demand on Xbox one was a breeze - now off Xbox, so are forced to chromecast - shocking... progress? - I think not. App does not keep a record of what episodes we've watched and we can't leave and come back at the same spot.

Terrible. After signing in (why do I need to sign in to watch content from free to air TV????) I tried to cast and gave up after watching the loading circle for 5 minutes. Get your act together!

Driving me NUTS. As others have said, restarts the episode after an ad break. Has happened 3 times now with episode 1 of Sunshine... I gave up

Need to fix the ads bugs while waching any show sometimes ads bug kicks in and whatever I watch at the time is going back to the start! Annoying as ay!!

Keeps crashing @ start up APP FAIL! Fails to play TV shows.

very buggy. gets stuck when i rewind. or it will suddenly skip 3min forward during playback and then lock up if you try to rewind

Doco appears as available to watch but nothing happens when you click on it. Oh well.
