AirVid for Android
Worked on my Galaxy Note 8. Initially took a while to scan through my PC drive and produce a list of files with images. Unfortunately the list is so long and without any way of sorting it's impractical. If it sensibly showed the videos with their folder structure as in the IOS version I'd gladly pay for it. Ideally it need some way of restricting the host scan to specific folders. I'll keep looking for other solutions and maybe try again in a while if nothing else turns up.
UI is shocking. Can't stream large file sizes without lag. Look elsewhere.
Finally an airvideo client that works! Love it
For a while we've been waiting for airvideo server to come to android. Thanks for doing that. Although its not perfect but its an excellent job to get it done.
My phone started flashing and said phone at risk from app when i first download it well my little girl likes to film hacks and she was crying becuase my phone dident work so beware
Just works straight 'out of the box'. Picked up the air video server no problem, play with your preferred video player, remembers your spot. So easy, Thank you!
The video after conversion on mobile network looks as is having frame drops and plays a jerky video. I know video quality drops after conversion but it doesn't gets jerky. Please have a look at this issue

This app fills a void and does so nicely. Good work and keep up the hard work. The only thing I recommend changing is make the link to Pro a hyperlink. Never underestimate human laziness. To properly promote it I recommend making it a click-able link.

Great start. Air Video is a great software. Now we have a choice to use it on Android. I see people complaining about not work. May be because the password feature is not set up yet. I think they need to wait for the more feature to come along. Let keep the project going and help it get better. Once again, thanks
Sad to say - can't find videos - spend s too much time saying that
This early version seems to only work if you have under 15 videos in one folder. I tried to use several folders with hundreds of tv shows and it seems to scan forever without any response from the program. So. Use only one shared folder and add other folders in The Air Video server to see if it works. The video quality seems very low quality in this version. I am looking forward to seeing improvements.
First try everything worked fine. Only watched about one minute of video as a test.
I install the app but i don't no what to do now can some one help me out
When I was an iOS user, the air video application was such an easy streaming solution for locally stored media. I was disappointed when I could not find an android app that would allow for me to utilize the air video server. Until I found this app, it works without any issue... I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a local streaming solution...

Tried this on 3 tablets and one phone, not one of them worked. e-mailed the developer and he was really helpful, explained that the app supports the original Air Video server, which has since been replaced with the newer 'HD' version. Kudos for great response, and best of luck updating to support the new server. If you're still running the old server, this app works really well.
Can't rate something that does not work
Free won't open password protected sources, but no paid version listed...
I would rate this a 0 if I could, hard to gauge a program when it won't function at all. No matter how I set the server, no matter what server I try, this will not work. I will keep using Air Video on the iPad and look for something better on here, stay away from this program.

Still gonna give it 4 stars. Just doesn't show videos, buy in time I'm sure it will be updated to work better.
Doesn't work with the new Air Video Server HD. What's the point.
Doesn't appear to be compatible with latest version of airvid server
Full screen ads with sound and video. Does not play HD videos without lag.
Waste of good storage
No issues! Great app. Considering buying it if competition app doesnt remove wifi check.

Unabke to find the srrver regardless of my attempts. Not buying it

Airvid + Streambels = I can watch movies on my TV using my samsung s4 + apple tv. Works perfectly, just make sure to adjust the settings for better images.
Do not like the built in ads. There are numerous spelling mistakes. The other one 'Android AV' is better and free.

Finally, an alternative to AirVideo (or Air PlayIt). My wife and I have come from iPhones and so far no uPnP or DLNA server/client combo's really work properly or easily. With AirVid I am able to select my encoding rate and it plays to my Galaxy Note 2 without a problem. I am using the AirVideo server app on my Windows-based server for encoding on the fly or H264 passthrough for my TV shows and movies. The new browsing mode has made all the difference!
Airvideo server has been discontinued. This app does work well with it. There is a typo in the select video screen, it is "play with conversion"-not "conversation".
I'm really surprised at how well this works with my AirVideo server. The UI on the client could use a little work but it seems to play videos (obviously the most important feature) almost flawlessly!
No longer need to use my crappy ipod to stream media from my computer!
