Airfoil Commander for Android
Only program allowing one to airplay to multiple devices, from a pc or mac, and control volume and songs with any phone, without having to un-root the phone. Paired with spotify you can create a whole house audio experience with it. I run 5 separate zones in my home with it. Amazing app!
Installed and started using. Period. No fussing. No issues. Same interface as Airfoil so no searching for common commands. I really love it when things just work. (Running Airfoil 5.1.1 on a MacOS Sierra v. 10.12)
Didn't work until I upgraded Mac os to Sierra. I also disabled remoteless helper. Works great now. Technical support could be a bit more proactive. This is a paid app after all.
Love the fact I can control everything including my speakers, volume, and change songs from within one app!
I don't know where else to place this comment. I have a lot of bluetooth speakers on my setup but none of them are showing up is there a way to control the volume of those speakers that are connected to airfoil? Besides that it works great. I will give it 5 stars if that is possible
Enables remote control of airfoil so you can control spotify pandora or other programs for your airfoil usable speakers, similar to sonos without the cost
I have firewalls shut off.
I have airfoil installed on 3 of my PCs and They are not visible with Airfoil Commander.
Now I don't have to keep going back and forth from speaker to macbook to set the volume for each room! Just something that crossed my mind for the developer is that android wear compatibility could be good, or if it's too much to put on the watch maybe just a control to mute everything quickly?
Much better than remoteless, worth the price
Just got it, so far looks like it's doing the job. 2 suggestions: it would be neat if it used the phone's volume control; and the pause/play button should change its appearance (when it's pause vs. play).
Have both Apple and Android devices. This app connects with the Airfoil app running on a Mac much faster than the iOS app developed by Rogue Amoeba. Could be by network environment, but I use the Android app more than anything else to turn our 5 airplay speakers on and off. Easy to use and to setup. Thanks Uncle...
Just what I've been dreaming of for the last couple of years!
Fantastic app. I was extremely skeptical but it does everything it advertises. This is certainly one of the best apps I have installed especially given my reliance on Airfoil as my "whole home" speaker system.
Exceptional. Literally flawless. Controlled my Mac from Android Device to broadcast to Apple TV.
Worked perfectly the first try, surprised to see the spotify controls and artwork. Would love to see continued support and development of this app!
Does what you want! Dev is friendly and helpful. This is the sort of app I love. Minimal and just plain works. Great job and hope to see more features roll out over time.
I had this working for quite a while and now it never finds airfoil on my pc. Made sure versions were up to date, still nada. Update:OK now it's working all of a sudden after posting so upping the rating to 4.
Offers excellent remote control over Airfoil and to a lesser extent iTunes. I would love to see a notification shade option. Love the updated Material Design. Keep up the developing!
Only missing feature for me is allowing you to update volumes while waiting for the app to reconnect to airfoil, at present there is an annoying 2-3 second lag. Instead, using a local cache would be ideal while connecting, maybe change the sliders colour to say grey until connected? Then you can set volumes/enables/disables and the app makes sure things are consistent once connected. Nice app!
Does what it's supposed to and does it well.
Offers excellent remote control over Airfoil and to a lesser extent iTunes. I would love to see a notification shade option.
Clean, fast interface. Even lets me see artwork for the current track in Spotify. Some UI glitches in the sidebar (bottom third area empty, duplicate app names all get highlighted at once).
... and does it beautifully and without any hiccups. A really great app!
EDIT TO ADD: upgraded to Galaxy S5, connecting is a lot more reliable! Works quite well now! ... ORIGINAL REVIEW: When it does work, there is no way to control Pandora other than the volume which at this point would be good enough for me. It though is fickle as hell to get to work/connect at all. It takes several restarts of airfoil, commander and the server 2.1, to ever get the app to connect. I end up just switching to Retune and using itunes. Hope this developer continues working on commander.
Longtime airfoil for Windows and Android user. App works as advertised. Easy server and app install (zero config). Rogue amoeba should buy this from the dev and include it with airfoil for Windows or for free. Thanks dev!
Finally an app that controls airfoil form my devices. Been waiting over 3 years for that so thank you. Can't wait for future developments. Would be really useful to change sources. Think you mentioned that you might be working on it. Overall excellent app.
Win 8.1
I have firewalls shut off.

Useless So it sees airfoil running on my Surface Pro 3. And it connects. And then what? I get a $3.99 volume control? How do I initiate playback? Where are those controls? Not in settings. Changing "source" works and I can see Airfoil on the PC changing sources. Yay, another source I can't control with this app. Where do I push play? How do I tell it to play a song on my PC from my phone? (Samsung Galaxy s8 +) Seems to be an epic fail.
