About RSS Savvy

Follow your favorite News, Sport, Technology, Entertainment sites in a single, snappy app, organized by you, drawn directly from the websites you follow. Be up and running in seconds with no understanding of RSS required. Learn the main features in the 90 second demo video.

Previously available only on BlackBerry 10 where it exceeds a quarter million monthly uses, I'm excited to introduce an Android version. Fast, free, unlimited feeds, no disruptive ads, and no sign-up.

RSS Savvy can monitor your feeds and notify you when articles come up that you care about, whether it’s mentions of your favorite sports team, your home town, or even something you want to buy on Kijiji.

Other features include:
- Organize your feeds across any number of configurable tabs to group information in a way that makes sense to you.
- "Reader Mode" strips adverts and pop-ups, and makes easy reading.
- Choose from our extensive live Catalog of feeds.
- One light and three dark themes to choose from.
- Save your favorite articles for reading later.
- Mark-read support, unread counts, mark-tab-read.
- Pull to refresh your feeds, swipe to delete articles from your timeline.
- Set-up polling from home so you can read your feeds when you are offline.
- Full article viewing in app - no more hopping in and out of the browser as with other apps.
- On phones, expand items in place to reveal more. On tablets, use a 2 pane layout.
- Add feeds directly from the browser. (Share the page to RSS Savvy and we'll scan it for feeds for you.)
- Or, perhaps you'll be happy with the default set of subscriptions that cover World News, Sport, Technology, Entertainment, Business and more...
- Search bar filters feeds and searches your articles as fast as you can type.
- Easily share your favorite articles on Facebook, Twitter, Email, and others.
- Import OPML from Feedly, Google Reader etc.
- If you use RSS Savvy or FeedMinder for BlackBerry, you can import those subscriptions too.

It's a shame that the developer forces you to keep a meta feed of the app's updates. It's locked and you can't delete it. This is the closest I could find to a sane / traditional RSS reader, and I'm uninstalling it over this. I would easily rate this app 5 stars if I wasn't forced to have unwanted content on my feed.

Slick enough interace. Kudos on a theme with a dark background (always a fan). BUT... the frustrating part that has me still hunting for alternative RSS apps? (1) No way to select multiple items for deletion, and (2) no way to manage when old items are removed from feeds (a date/age criteria and a max items in queue ceiling/threshold would be nice).

Does what I want an RSS reader to do: import and export OPML files, allow easy tweeting of articles to multiple accounts and organize sources into folders (segregating news sources who fudge times and dates to put their stories at the tops of feeds). RSS is still the best way to consume news, although many news outlets don't like it. RSS Savvy is up there with the very best readers.

by Q####:

This is my favorite rss app. I've used others, but always come back to this one.

Q70%
by Q####:

Excellent app. I would just suggest a better search option because many rss are not found unless you enter it manually. This is the biggest drawback of this app.

V70%
by V####:

Great app with a good interface and most importantly, the ability to view categories/tagged feeds together. Would be better if automatic feed refresh can be turned off, even with wifi on.

UPDATE: ***VERY PLEASED. Easy to add or delete sources. Big plus: import/export OMPL. Displays article brief with the option to open full article in a browser of choice; makes sharing simple. Read articles are automatically removed; can also mark entire feed read. The absolute best I've found in this category. 5 stars. Thanks!!

I use it every day. Works fine if you are out of the "grid". So far my favourite RSS reader.

Clean simple interface, and find rss feeds from just the home page link - excellent

The app is super comfy, never crashes, display pattern is simpl, easy to read and navigate, all in all superb

Head and shoulders above all other readers.

Grrrrrrrrreat!

Looks ok. Many good features. BUT, no option to auto-clean read/unread articles after a set number of days, this could eat up so much space eventually. Would be nice if we can swipe on the article to move to next or previous article. Would be nice if this could be a one-handed app, I can only work this using both hands. Seems like it is still stuck in Blackberry days, too bad since it already leveled up by moving to Android. Overall, it's ok, but it is not yet good enough to be my daily reader.

UPDATE: Talk about an awesome dev. I was literally the only person who reported a problem with the last update and he emailed in less than an hour and eventually solved the problem. 5 stars EASY After latest update several feeds no longer work BUT work on my other samsung.

Q70%
by Q####:

I like it when it's working, but it has an issue with half of my feeds where it just stops updating after a month, and the only way to get those feeds back is to readd them. I'm looking for a new reader without that issue. Otherwise it's a nice reader

After testing at least 10 other similar apps, this one comes closest to what one could need for organizing / reading rss feeds. If only we could choose our notification sounds or vibration for new feeds... !!!

Q70%
by Q####:

Reads feeds and displays them well. After greader pro stopped working this little app is an awesome alternative. With the developer listening to feedback and not only fixing bugs but also features, I can highly recommend this little app.

Q70%
by Q####:

Awesome app- very fast updates, practical layout, OPML import and editing, nice looking ui. After GReader collapsed and various buggy replacements didn't work out this is a welcome development.

Used to use this app on my old BlackBerry, and was stoked to see it for Android. Simple interface, and pretty much every news source has an rss. Love getting custom news!

K70%
by K####:

This is a perfect reader but since switching from the blackberry system to android, I find it has some bugs... feeds don't refresh properly.

Q70%
by Q####:

This is what all I wanted in an RSS reader. Only negative are the visuals sometimes, but lightweight, powerful RSS reader where you can organise sources in app, more than make up for it.

Q70%
by Q####:

This app was the best when I used it on BB10. I see it hasn't fallen from the top of the mountain in Android either. Easy, intuitive, with many options for quickly adding, subtracting, sharing, Tweeting and saving feeds and articles. A real powerhouse newsreader.

Switch the tab button to the right, for one handed use, hard to reach in upper left hand corner

L70%
by L####:

Good app except that the notifications are silent and there is no option to make them vibrate or produce a ringtone. That's the one missing basic feature. I'd love to see that option in a future update.

Q70%
by Q####:

As someone who doesn't listen to enough podcasts to use a dedicated app, it would be nice if there was a way to stream/download podcasts from within the app.

C70%

The best RSS app out there. Easy to use and to share feeds. I've had this app on every device over the years. Never lets you down!

Q70%

A good app that allows me to keep up to date with articles from my favourite sites. Great features as well.

Please add option to change the layout style like cards or list.

Q70%

Does what it says with an almost perfection, if only we could individually order feeds within tabs.

B70%

It works for what I need it for although I wish I could retrieve deleted stores from the rss feed

در مقایسه با چندین برنامه دیگه عالی بود

Simply fantastic, what else should one say. Works brilliantly, and is superb.

Q70%

Almost perfect ! {And I've sent a nag to fix that!)

Q70%

Excellent app for keeping track of multiple news feeds.

Z70%

I set it up to watch a couple of specific searches on Craigslist, and it works pretty well. I then set it up to alert me to hits on keywords within those searches. Again, it works pretty well. I noticed that postings don't always get reported for an hour or so (even though the app is set to poll every 5 minutes) but as a general rule, that is acceptable. I really wish I could set up audible alerts when one of my keywords is matched. Otherwise I need to always be watching for the visual alerts.

I was really hoping this would replace iOS's Reeder 2. After a week with the app, there are just too many little issues for me to give it the high rating I originally posted. The reader comes preloaded with a bunch of feeds which you have to sort through and delete. Then after adding feeds, you're treated to a backlog of articles you likely already read. This wouldn't be an issue if there was a delete all function. I had to manually swipe away over 300 articles. Sorts newest first, too. Too many bugs.
