CPR Guinness World Record

Saveetha Medical College is in its Decennial Year. In this short span the institution has grown by leaps and bounds in strength and reputation.Saveetha Medical College is committed to the healthcare of the community. As a part of the community services rendered by the institution CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION –CPR courses are held for the people of the community.
Though we conduct these courses regularly we realise that there is still a high level of ignorance about the importance of CPR among the public and even among medical practitioners.
Statistics show that over 2 lakh people die of Sudden Cardiac Arrest every year and ¼th of them are preventable.
There is a need to increase the level of awareness for CPR among lay persons as most of cardiac arrests occur outside the hospital.
Lay person CPR increases the chances of survival in the victim. Effective bystander CPR provided immediately - doubles or triples a victim’s chance of survival.
On the occasion of the Decennial year celebrations we want to spread awareness about CPR on a Massive scale and what better way to do it than going the GUINNESS WORLD RECORD way!
