The Fast Metabolism Diet for Android
The logo is kind of ugly, but otherwise the app works great, and it's been really convenient to have a list of what I can eat for each phase in my pocket all the time. Functions well. I wish there was the opportunity to copy meals and meal times to other days, instead of adding each meal individually, since I usually just cook a bunch of the same thing to eat for each meal for each phase and my meals are always at the same time. It would be cool to have little trophies, and a way to connect with friends.
This app is a huge blessing. It made it easy! I've lost 15 pounds in 4 weeks with it. Totally worth it!!! Read the book so you understand things, and buy it. App works great. No problems changing times, dates, etc. I don't get the bad reviews. They seem to be from people who haven't read the book and wish the diet was different.
This is a worthwhile app to help stay on track for the Fast Metabolism Diet, but could offer so much more - more FMD food options, more of the FMD Cookbook recipes to select as menu options, the ability to add additional weeks if you want to extend the plan and the ability to analyze your results. However, what really pissed me off was on the 25th day of the 28 day plan the app lost ALL OF MY DATA!!! What a tremendous waste of effort to keep it up every day.... Totally discouraged as a result of this! The developers and Ms. Pomroy need to take a hard look at upgrading this app.
I need it to follow the plan. The best part of it is the food lists, but they can't be split. For instance, say I want to split types of fat: some of almond butter and some of olive oil. You choose one or the other, but can't do both on the app. Requests to do this have gone unfulfilled.
Not too bad of an app. I wish it would sync across different devices. I usually plan my meals on my tablet and the have to copy it to my phone. I also wish it would have a designated space for exercise recording. The shopping list isn't the greatest either. It would be great if you could generate the list and go in and delete the items you have and then send the list to your email. Awkward as it is.
Update: There have been many significant improvements to the app. I wish it had some recipes included instead of just picking from those in the cookbook because right now I'm cross referencing from the book to the app which is a bit of a hassle. Original: Foods do not follow the book. Some do, but there are many missing and I haven't found a way to add foods. You can only pick from what's given. Good app as a companion piece. Notifications would be better if there was a sound/alarm option with an audible reminder as visual pop-ups only don't always remind you when you're having a busy day at work and don't glance at your phone. Also a search function for the foods would be nice as well.
I like the app but it keeps crashing. It also will not let me change the times of wake up and breakfast. Very frustrated
I like the app except for it will not let me change the wake up time. If I try to change the wake up time it crashes. When I firsr started using the app it worked just fine.
This makes meal planning so simple. It follows her book perfectly! You know exactly what you can eat & what the serving sizes are for every food at every meal or snack for every phase of this diet. It would be 4 stars if it opened more than 50% of the time without crashing. It would be 5 stars if it also let you select more than one food & keep track of the total serving size allowed. I would also like to see the grocery list fixed, so you can actually check purchased items off as you shop.
I absolutely LOVE this app. It's keeping me on track...HOWEVER it's in desperate need of an UPDATE! Last update in April of 2016...SMH
Unstable app. The app is useful in theory but 2 days after purchasing it crashed and lost all my logged info. Despite the fact you provide your email address there is no account associated with this paid app so no way to recover the info. I have the feeling it could happen again.
This app was disappointing. Don't get me wrong, it was great to have the meal planning and water intake trackers on hand. However, since I paid money for this app, I would have expected it to be less buggy. My notifications randomly stopped during the first week, which was the week I really needed the reminders. They did eventually come back on, but then the background picture came up as the kiwi picture by default every day, even though that's only supposed to be the Phase 1 picture. Confusing. It was also very awkward to get on and change up the plan for the week once you had it set. User friendliness was just not there. I am someone that will always go with the free app if it's an option, so this app just made me feel like it was a waste of $3. I would have preferred to use that money towards that crap ton of food I had to buy for this diet. Overall unsatisfactory in my book.
I should be able to write in foods in case I cheat. Then I can look at how detrimental cheating can be.
Don't waste your money. This App is BUGGY! Reset button for the Grocery Cart doesn't work. The grocery list does not calculate the correct amounts of food when you attempt to make a list for more than one day at a time, eg. 9 eggs for 2 servings of Strawberry French Toast. When I contacted technical support via email through the App with a complete description of the glitch and screen shots of the glitches I was told that they were not planning on offering a fix. When I emailed back asking if a ticket had been opened and, if so, what the ticket number was they did not reply. Apparently they have washed their hands of this App and are no longer supporting it or offering updates. The Fast Metabolism Diet App is a disappointment.
If you have a lot of weight to lose, this diet makes sense. If you dont, this diet is expensive, restricting, and pointless. And the app kind of sucks too. Why would I ever want to eat 4 tsps of olive oil for breakfast? What kind of problem does this app think people have?
The app crashes whenever you try to enter or change a time. It might otherwise have been useful, but it's hard to say.
So far love the app and selecting foods for each meal and phase. Very easy to use. One recommendation would be for a category like healthy fats to allow you to be able to choose more than one and it will calculate how much of each you need to get the entire serving needed for that meal. Is that a possibility? Also would love to see a workout feature added...such as when to do cardio vs weights and different exercises. Even at a premium. Would be worth the cost
One of the best diet apps out there. I am following this diet on the advice of a doctor since my metabolism is so slow. This app helps me know exactly what and how much food to eat on the given day. I can even plan my whole week and create a grocery list. I travel a lot so it's easy to figure out what foods to eat in a pinch . It's working well and I am feeling better than I ever have.
could be upgraded with lots of more foods like cottage cheese and other protein foods. really not a big menu on that app at all. i regret i bought it. don't want to eat same stuff all the time. and other thing that would be only good for the app is if they change Oz to litres and stuff. like inches to cm and stone to kg etc . really not fully completed app. can download apps like this everywhere. better and for free.
so far after a week i really love this app. it lets me know what i can have if im away from home.. I was trying to sync it to my tablet but i don't think it does that.. Some of the meals are different than the original book and don't show up as an option.. but other than that its pretty good..
Lots of crashing issues. Reading through some of the other posts about users losing their data concerns me. I think I will take screenshots of my week so I'm not completely lost if I lose everything. Would like to see in-app purchases to have access to the recipes in the book, or add'l recipes from the cookbook.
This app keeps me on track all throughout the day. I can see what I ate last week and repeat or try new meals. Quickly plan my next day easily by opening up that phase and seeing the requirements. I use it while grocery shopping to remind me which foods are on each phase and see my grocery list. I love the reminder messages to snack or drink water. Best app and most important app that I own!!! Thanks for making it so much easier than carrying around a book for reminders, Haylie!!! Love it!
The menu planning part is fine and everything can be added to the grocery list. The frustrating part is then spending hours compiling the shopping list to determine how many oz of meat you need since the grocery list is sorted by menu item not grouped by type of food. This should be easier.
For some reason it is not resetting, I need to start today?? Any help would be great. UPDATE 6/20/16: after many attempts it finally reset but after the last app update it is super slow, there is a 6-9 sec delay to update water or even to update the meal maps drives me crazy!! 10/10/16 still super SLOOOWWW
App doesnt open just flickers I want my money refunded she is running a scam and taking people's money and she's smiling on the cover shame on her!!!!
Can't change wake up time so whole day is off. Reported many times and still not fixed. Please! !
Keeps freezing out and will only work if I reinstall. For an app that isn't free, this is terrible. At least they put effort into their things. This has obviously been an unresolved issue reoccuring.
It's very helpful to select foods and keep up with your times to eat. The grocery list is great. Also the water intake is very helpful. The portion sizes and master food list need to be updated. I would give it a 5 if that could happen. Now that I've had it a week it keeps closing out when I try to edit wake up time. Please help. After reinstalling the app, it worked two more weeks, now I have to reinstall it again because it keeps closing. Very frustrating to lose all my progress AGAIN. PLEASE ADDRESS!!
When I change the wake time and meal/snack times they don't stay but instead change on their own. It's very frustrating! I'm on a Samsung Note 5.
So I bought this app today and I can't even start planning my week out because it keeps closing on me every time I click on Phase 1 Week 1! I'm getting ready to ask for my money back. What's the point of creating an app if you can't use it.
The app is very helpful, especially on the go and if you don't have the book on you. That being said, it would be great if the app could be kept up to date with the changes made in the diet so it can be more accurate, especially since we paid for this app. Thank you!
The app for meal planning is great and printing the shopping list was very helpful. A higher rating would include two more features. 1) email to print the meal map. There are two of us looking at meal maps and printing would be easier. 2) I would LOVE to see the app be able to sync from my tablet to my phone and vise versa. Here's to a bright, heathier future!
Why are the days "required" food list's wrong for ALL Meals, on ALL days? Can this be fixed? It has been a waste of my money and time trying to figure this out? Also, I changed my wake up time but ut doesn't change in the food diary? Why!? I'm using my Note 5.

There are some great features to this app, but it also has standard features that don't work. I can't get to my meal map because it shuts down every time and I can't email a grocery list.
Would not attempt this diet without this app. One suggestion: when changing meal times, make options in 10 or 15 minute increments. I don't need 1:54 as a choice, and it's so tedious to scroll through the entire hour.
Used the app for a short time, then it started closing and I wasn't able to use it. I want my money back, don't want to pay for something I can't use.
Worked great for less than 24 hours. Now I can't use it because it keeps shutting down after I open it.

For the Fast Metabolism dieters this is a great tool for seeing what you can eat, planning meals and tracking how much water you're drinking. Very basic in the food selection; asking me which Healthy Fats I'll be eating is good but I won't be eating 3 tbsp of grapeseed oil at a time. Maybe some way to be more accurate? Also, positive reinforcement would be great. Nagging me about drinking water when I only have 8oz left? Not cool. How about telling me how great I'm doing? When you're dieting, a little hand-holding goes a LONG way.
