Seriously Samsung, how in the world can you fail so hard and not care about the comments. I must have seen a dozen updates and not one of them improved things for us. I've tried with 4 different phones all getting to different levels, most not being able to search for the access point. One finds out but then can't connect to the server. It's maddening. I wish I never purchased one of your products simply due to this crappy app... That's how bad it is (along with your lack of support). FIX IT ALREADY!
07/29/2017 - SUCCESS! The washer and dryer are finally connected through the app on my Pixel. Following some advice in a separate review, I disabled Cellular Data within my Verizon connection prior to setting up each device. Everything worked as it should. Successfully tested by turning Cellular Data back on after setups, and running loads through each. I was able to control each device through the app as well as getting alerts when said loads completed. FINALLY!
I don't normal give bad ratings, but honestly get your act together Samsung. This is a disgrace. If your main marketing is that a device has WiFi connectivity...FIX YOUR APP. I've finally figured the AP issue out (after reading user forums, obviously not from Samsung as they seem to stop giving a toss after they take your money), and now I can't connect to the server. You are a smart phone company for Christ's sake! How can you not get this right? I don't even care of the app isn't great, or even good, I just want basic functionally. This is a disgraceful piece of software and I'm honestly disgusted. This couldn't be more useless. I will never buy another Samsung product again after this. At least have anther way of connecting if your app is this bad (which is clearly is from the other reviews). I can't fathom the idiocy that is involved in screwing something up this badly. Just completely disgraceful Samsung.
Installé après l'achat d'un aspirateur robot VR7000. Je pensais que l'application allait me donner plus de possibilités, mais dans le cas présent il s'agit juste d'une télécommande sur le smartphone, rien de plus... Si comme moi vous avez des difficultés à vous connecter à votre réseau (but de l'appli), une fois en mode appairage, après avoir inséré vos logins, il suffit de mettre le téléphone en mode avion et ensuite d'activer uniquement le wifi. L'application trouvera de suite le wifi.
There's no way I'm giving this app the permissions it asks for. Why would you need my contacts, or the ability to make phone calls.

Requests ridiculous permissions (contacts, calls, storage and exact location) and will not run without, will not run on rooted device. Minimal functionality (not even scheduling for robot vacuum??). Useless & uninstalled app for a $600 device.
I specifically bought a Samsung washer and dryer because of the advertised smart home functionality and I still can't get it to pair with my phone. This is the worst app and I feel I got ripped off on my washer and dryer since I could have bought a regular set and achieved the same functionality. Step it up!
Really? You are the biggest electronic company but cannot make an app work properly. I always support you. I have bought more than 10 device from you. Don't make your customer disappointed.
It's buggy, doesn't work most of the time. Just like other Samsyng stuff it's slow and breaks down all the time. Last Samsung I'll ever buy.
Added system ac (ducted) then every update I get means I have to hold the wifi button on the unit and update it from the default setup wifi ssid. Why it cant update from home router ssid (that has internet access) is beyond me. It's like having to readd the device every time an update comes out. And you can't use it without upgrading.... Stupid.
It doesn't work . saying my tablet is rooted but is not! This is outrageous
Neither dishwasher nor stove will connect to WiFi. Garbage app. Seems to be the norm for Samsung.
Please add option to turn off the display from the App. It is very annoying not to be able to do that at night. AC model AR12KSWSBWKNZE

Workaround for the AP problem: After signing into your Samsung account on the first connection attempt, put phone in airplane mode, then enable WiFi only and try to connect again. Seems Mobile data is what breaks the connection attempt. Once the appliance is all connected you can put everything back to normal. Hope that saves you all some time.
Useless for working with my Powerbot vacuum. Impossible to pair with vacuum until you disable mobile data and only use WiFi. Once installed it adds no functionality. The iRobot app for our other robot vacuum, a Roomba, gives status updates, (stuck, finished, dustbin full, error codes). The iRobot app installed and paired with the Roomba in minutes and has never once lost connection. I'm so disappointed in Samsung.
According to the manual "range" should be an option in catalog/devices. It doesn't show up there or when I search. This app is useless if my appliance isn't even a choice.
Seems to work for RF22K refrigerator (4 French door model). The instructions are a little unclear, and in the Refrigerator User Manual (for a refrigerator??) even worse, but it came together without having to do anything special.
Update: a year later and still doesn't work right. My dryer is listed as a washer inside the app. Makes it useless as I don't have access to drying functions cause the app thinks it's a washer and not a dryer. Such a sad pathetic app. Tried with S7 edge (Samsung phone) and still the same thing. I paid an extra 60$ each to have the wifi option yet a year later and I still can't use it. Fix the app. These washers and dryers are $3000.00 combined. Yet the app is something you would expect from a $100.00 appliance. Go buy LG instead. Probably be much happier and more than likely LG would work flawlessly.
Pairing with AC was successful when mobile data was disabled. App works ok, however Samsung should focus on fixing the issues related to connection before moving on to any other features.
No matter how many updates still can't be used. Buggy interface, can't find / input SSID. Even when completed on another device (S7) can't use it on my pixel. Says device needs updated and starts the entire setup process all over again. Despite the recent update app still fails to recognize device as 'connected' WTH Samsung?
Still doesn't work on Android 7.1.2 can't add device as it can't find AP. 1 month later and it still doesn't work. Samsung clearly doesn't care about fixing the app. Well 3 versions late and finally a working version but functionally pretty basic.
Terrible, took at least a dozen tries to connect to washer and dryer. Then immediately says it's disconnected or it connects but doesn't let me perform any functions. Very buggy and basically worthless. Sorry I spent money on 2 of the WiFi adapters.
I can't connect the Air Conditioner to my hidden wifi network. There is no way to enter custom ssid. Please fix it, I can't use the AC wifi function because of this!
Doesnt work properly. Limited functions and you must jump through so many hoops to get a basic start function from the app.

Finally was able to connect my washer by disabling my cellular data (which is an absolute joke of a workaround. When I got to my dryer, it told let it could not authorize my dryer because of my country code.... Not sure what I have to do to get this to work, but from all the other reviews on here, this will be the last Samsung smart appliance I buy.
