Samsung Portable SSD

App is useless for my OnePlus, the SSD (T3) actually worked fine on my other OnePlus phone but I wanted to see what the app was about so installed it on my second OnePlus phone. All it does is create a password, problem is now I can't turn off the stupid feature and the SSD that worked on my first OnePlus phone now doesn't work unless I have the app installed. Seems like some sort of app trap. Also, the hype about SSD transfer speeds is overrated, I went to bed in the middle of transferring 1gb of photos from my phone to the SSD, woke up to find it froze at 15% all night.

It does not work with my One plus 5. What's the use. While purchasing it showed picture as if it might work with all Android mobile phones. Now, it says it is compatible with only handful of models specified on the website. I feel thoroughly cheated .

My T5 works well only if it's formatted with FAT32 but the app still crashes on the background from time to time. As a suggestion it'd be awesome to have fingerprint authentication

Can not detect my t5 ssd in note 8.. and external explorers can easily do..its very disappointing

Connected to my LGv10 via an otg adapter and everything within the application works fully. I use Es file Explorer to view and manage the files with no issues mentioned in other reviews. Great portable ssd!

Lovely device and very fast data transfers using usbc at both ends. But as with every other samsung device I've ever used, the software is just hopeless. I backed up all the data from the laptop. But when I connected the phone, to back up its data, I had to download this app. It then required all the existing data to be deleted. Yes of course there are different data formats. But I can switch data between my phone and laptop directly without a hitch So basically, it seems the software won't let you use the device to transfer or back up data from both windows 10 and android. Note there is no usb c cable with the device. It has usb a at one end which largely defeats the value of this device - the greater speed of usbc.

I regret buying two Samsung T3 portable SSD drives. Would rate them 0 if it was possible. Don't waste your money or your time.

Why t3 is not supported in Es file Explorer in Xperia z5 premium with nought os?? But it's fully supported in the Es file Explorer in other Xperia devices !! Please someone help..

you would think that if they were going to charge a small fortune for a portable ssd they would put some time into developing suitable software so it would work on all of their samsung devices not just a select few. i ahould have chosen the sandisk option. edit after samsung input you mention check compatability on website before purchase perhaps clear suitable device's should be labelled on the packaging and the people that sell the products should be aware of suitable devices when selling this item ... i have contacted samsung and the support received was disgusting to say the least.

Nice App, i bought T3 portable SSD and i installed portable ssd app in my galaxy A9 Pro 2016. I changed the name and create a password in the app.

Does not work with Galaxy Tab S, Galaxy S 4 or Note 5. Every time, I connect any of the above listed devices I get, "Samsung T3 was not found." Very disappointing.

It works as expected on xperia z5 premium! It also works well on Samsung Galaxy S8.

Not recognized by my Nexus 6P. I can't find a review here where someone says it mounted successfully to their phone. Every Samsung response is the same: contact customer support, or check supported products. Why not just list the one mystery phone this product works on instead of listing Android-compatible on the box? Seems more straightforward.

Is it possible to upload photos direct from an SD card or card reader to the SSD T3?

I purchased a T3-500GB to be able to access my files from my S7 Edge. Installed the app yesterday but it won't recognize the drive connected to the phone via the USB adaptor. The blue light on the drive does turn on. Tried restarting phone, and connecting several times with no luck. I will gladly change the review once it works and would appreciate Samsungs help in troubleshooting... UPDATE thank you for the response but I used the cable that came with the T3.

T3 SSD formatted in exFat works properly on Android without security feature enabled. However, when the T3 SSD AES security is enabled, Android devices (tested on Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and S7 Edge) does not mount the USB T3 SSD properly. Android devices show corrupted file system and points the user to format the device. After a clean format in Android system, the device mounting will not work. Basically, the security on Android never worked. Please solve this issue ASAP.

Same problem as Alessandro described. My smart TV and S7 Edge does not mount the T3 as advertised. Contacted Samsung online support chat and they had no answers. Both support people quoted information that was clearly regarding the T1. Considering I paid more for the T3 because of the compatibility it advertises I feel completely ripped off. Disappointed and a loyal Samsung user with robot Vac 3 phones and 2 Tablets. I will be reconsidering my planned purchase of the 360 Camera that is just released and over priced because of this experience. If I am a going to pay too much for something I expect it to work.

My T3 SSD drive is formatted as NTFS with the password security feature on. When unlocking the drive through the app, the android system recognizes the drive as corrupt and only gives the option to format. Note that the app itself does properly identify the drive.
