Jankity. Works when it wants to? I canbe veiwing remotely then loose a connection and then wont let me back on saying check my user name and password. That got me checking that crap for no reason. Now i just wait a lil while and then try again. Sometimes it work most time it doesnt. Even when it works it doesnt work well. Freeze up and has a significantlav.booo
I would highly recommend staying away from anything Samsung makes in the security market category.....this product works 10% of the time at best, and I hope you have a GREAT I/T person to keep calling every week to keep it running. super poor product So disappointed in Samsung non existent customer service atleast in this case
I used this app on my galaxy S2 without any issues. On my S7 running marshmallow it's not been quite as smooth. It worked when I first set up but then I found I couldn't connect from 3g/4g or from other wifi. I found that the settings have changed from DDNS to IP when I connected to my home wifi. To fix this, go to Settings> Device > click on your device. Under address type, select DDNS and enter your ddns details. This made it work from external networks but not from home wifi. Since the latest update I can't access playback which almost makes this app redundant.
What's the point of having hd video if you cannot play it back? App will display real time video and will play back 720p video, but now that I have their better cameras and better dvr now I cannot play back in the app.
It worked well for quite a while but for at least 2 months I have been unable to view my cameras at all. It keeps saying unable to connect. My app is updated, my cameras are working fine,and I have the samsung s7 edge.
I've received a few updates for this app recently and since then, the zoom feature has gone from good to poor. Before the updates, when I would zoom in on something in the cameras view, it was a smooth zoom process. Now, when trying to zoom, it is "jumpy ", meaning, that zooming in, it doesn't stop at each zoom ratio smoothly. Come on Samsung ! We pay enough for these cameras, let's have an app that works like one would expect ! 3-16-17 - Now the app doesn't even connect, most of the time. Let's go Samsung, fix this !
For those who cannot view the cameras outside the network: Do the port forwarding (in the router or modem) of the port 80 for HTTP port. This is to open the port 80 for HTTP communication. Over the internet, IPOLIS and Smartviewer use the port 80 to connect to the cameras or the NVR. In the manual, it says to open ports 554 to 558, but does not say that you have to open port 80 as well After a few failed connections, I opened port 80 in the router. Then I can see the cameras in Ipolis (for mobile phone) and Smartviewer (for PC)
This app is great UNTIL an update comes along. Then it goes hay wire. Everytime it updates we have to call the company and they go in the system and fix it. Very frustrating....
Stopped working. I can see the label of the cameras like Back Yard or Front Door, but it never shows the video. Samsung Galaxy s7 edge. Update: works now. Port forwarding definition was wrong in router. I think there could be more detailed instructions on setting up the router. It would greatly reduce technical support calls.
No real issues with this app it has work beyond my expectations after reading many of the horror stories here. Every so often I do run into losing connection to the cameras but in those cases I intentionally put in the wrong password and let it reject it then enter the right password then I have connection to the cameras again.
It never works, and constantly goes offline. Then, they hide technical support's phone number. How are you supposed to be able to look at your security cameras when they never work?
When I installed the app and the cameras at my home it was working perfectly for a month but since 3 days the app crushed and I was not allowed to see the cameras with my phone. I configured the values perfectly but it still appearing the message "connection failed", please somebody help me!!!
I can't replay all my HD Camera but, watching live it's OK is there any way to solve this problem.. I am using 2.80 Version.......Edited: Guys what's happening why can't you just fix this app.....? We can't reply the system Since last updated can't connect to 4G network any more
I have never been able to view remotely with 4G network, only on my local Wi-Fi which sucks because you would think any Wi-Fi would do the trick.
Their recent change in domain (ipolis to Hanwha...) disconnected my 16 cam system & it has been an unsuccessful headache trying to locate any support.
I have an LG FLEX Android phone. Works well when I'm on my own WIFI home Network. But does not work on my phone when I am on my jobs WIFI network or when I'm outside on 4g LTE. And the funny thing is that no matter what surveillance company or system you use, they all are the same with this problem. I went from a zmoto system to a elec system and now this samsungipolis app. I guess three strikes, and if it doesn't want to work the way it should on your phone. Then just except what you have or if you got the money get the real systems and pay monthly. Cause all these $200 to $300 dollar systems are all the same with these apps. Works today , fails tomorrow or doesn't work at all!!..
I can no longer playback archival footage on my phone app. I can only do it on the computer or actual DVR. Fix this problem, please.
Obviously antiquated app so unreliable can't count on it if in danger. I'm begging to pay for an improved app
Can not stream 1080? Can't play back 1080? I've got the bandwidth. Apparently your dns server doesn't. Spend some money on bandwidth please, or give me a non dns option.
Ridiculous APP - Can't use at all on 3g or 4g. Works on WiFi for live viewer but won't playback. Please fix this as I've invested over €1500 on a 'reputable' system and I'm unable to utilise remote functions...its bad! Fix it!
This app is only any use for live viewing. The playback does not work. Forget trying to get support or help from Samsung DVR (Techwin or whoever they are now) they are too ignorant to even acknowledge your emails.
App won't work with my or any Wi-Fi anymore. It only works with my mobile data. So please fix it samsung s7 edge
Was working GREAT for about a year and then suddenly - it won't connect to my cameras. Time for an update? I dunno, but it needs to be fixed!
Finally got it to work on wifi. I'm liking this app more now. 4g only worked once for me
What is the point of having a security app on your mobile device if you can only watch it from the wifi network it's connected to
UPDATE! Finally an agent @SamsungSV was able to tell me the issue was my Netgear modem closing ports. All you need to do is bridge your modem so your router controls the ports. ... After the 11/25/15 update, I could no longer watch live feeds and only sporadically could see recorded video which often cuts out and loses connection. I have made many attempts since Nov. to get tech support help but they always blame the network or the phone (Samsung S6 Active). I have checked with my ISP and many of their users have no problem with competitor's live streaming security cameras. Fix this Samsung!!! Between this and dvr issues on my latest dvr system, I am considering shopping around
Lousy. Works when it wants to. A good reason to switch camera systems.
Its ok. My biggest problem is seeing the event tick marks, they are almost impossible to see or get the selection marker on them.
Absolute garbage. It would be a far stretch claiming the app allowed me to view my cameras half of the time. Go with a Lorex setup.

Have a Samsung Tab S and will not work. On the same wifi, but still nothing. Very frustrating
DDNS is the only way to view away from home. The DDNS still doesn't work and no support from the company
App won't work with wifi it says connection failed on my Samsung tablet please fix

Can no longer playback video on Galaxy S7 or Galaxy Tab S2. Update killed it.

Really like this app, and is way in front of others with regards to style and viewing experience. Much easier than other apps for viewing recordings and I find it way more reliable. Have only had 1 issue in all the time I have been using it for various clients and that is for playback of HD video if it was recorded on NVR at 4mp. If I drop it down to 2mp recording it plays back fine. I'm guessing this is more of an NVR software issue as it should still stream to mobile at low resolution, regardless of what it was recorded at. Have used many other makes of cameras, DVRs NVRs, and honestly this app is the one I always recommend to clients. As long as installer sets up the DVR or NVR correctly for mobile, and opens correct ports on router, there shouldn't be any issues.
