Samsung Video Library

This is a good app, the video controls are great and the design of the app is on point, but it has one major flaw that prevents me from using it. On the main screen of the app, there are two screens, videos and folders. The videos screen works perfectly for me, there are no hitches and a good interface. The folders screen, however, is completely broken. If I so much as move to it the app crashes. When I launch it again, it will go back to the folders screen and crash. The only way to stop it from going straight to the folders screen is to clear its data, which makes it launch to the videos screen. But that doesn't fix the problem because it will happen again if you try to go back to the folders screen. If you don't have this problem it's a great app, but I can't give this a good review until this huge bug is fixed. Other people don't have this issue, so you might not either, but the point is that this bug exists. I am using a Galaxy S7, so I would hope this gets fixed soon, but it might be because of my exotic root which would mean it wouldn't get fixed. 5 stars if not for the bug.

I miss the scene selection option in the samsung video player like I had on my Note 3. I've since had the Note 5 and S8+ hoping that the feature came back and it still has not. I love the slow motion feature and wish it could go to about -10 speed, but -5 is good too. But I really miss the scene select feature. Please Samsung bring that feature back for those of us that like to jump right to a particular part of our videos instead of just scrubbing to find it. Otherwise, great product and I will continue to be "Samsung'er" for life!

I really like the update but I noticed that when I skip to the next video it doesn't go to the next movie on the list. I'm pretty sure it's going by the name of the video file rather than the movie title like the way it used to go. That's really the only complaint I have.

We need detail list, for our video folders; just the way S5 had detail list. I have given this app 5✴✴✴✴✴STARS NOW, BECAUSE I KNOW NOW THAT THEY (Samsung Team) ARE REALLY DOING THEIR BEST TO GIVE US CLASSIC PRODUCTS FOR OUR MONEY ON THIS EXPENSIVE PHONES. Thank you all Google Team. Your best customer. ✴ YES THE Samsung Team HAS GIVEN THE VIDEO (List and Grid Display). ✴BUT WE ALSO NEED THE SAME (List and Grid Display) ON THE FOLDERS ITSELF. More samsung bloat! EDIT: Samsung replied with "If you tell us any issues you are disappointed with ...", which I'm happy to do. My S6 Edge has 34 apps that can be considered bloat, and the package manager removes an astounding 73 (!) packages. If I want instagram, facebook, onedrive, or the defective 'peel remote', I'll install them myself. Then there's the 'extra functionality', like the 'nearby devices', that only finds a small subset of devices (theoretically, I've never encountered one), or the 'game launcher and tools', which is useless and annoying. Finally, the straight-up harmful (to battery life and functionality) built-in 'memory optimisation', which keeps killing apps that get loaded right back into memory anyway (because they're needed). Except pebble, that is; even if I tell it to ignore it, it still kills pebble every couple of hours. Short answer? I am dissapointed with the amount of bloat, and I experience several issues with it.

It was very good before. I used to use it to stream to my Xbox. But suddenly it shut down and uninstalled itself, now the smart view option is gone! What happens!

I'm giving this 5 stars for the new graphics. I love it. I hope that you can add these: mirror/flip mode, frame to frame screenshot, speed from -10 to 10, list of videos in the selected folder at the top when viewing, play backwards. It could be better if you could add these features because it could help a lot for me. Thank you

I will give this app 5 stars as soon as it adds a shuffle feature like the music player, a favorite section, and a list section instead of always coming out of the video to find a new one. Pretty much make it exactly like the stock Samsung music app with the updates and it's a 5 star app.

Upgrade sucks. I upgraded from galllaxy S5 to S8+. The video app does not allow me to take screenshot pictures in video like it did in my old phone :'(

Great video player the only thing I do not like. there is no pinch to zoom and no slow motion speed select for videos

Upgrading from a note 4 to a s8 it's a nice upgrade but I miss sending my videos to my tv without having to mirror my whole phone.

It's the best video player for Samsung devices.... but it's sad that Samsung devices running in M os are not getting avail of it

Please create a version specifically for tablets. Thumbnails are too large for tablet devices especially when seeing folders. Will give 5 stars when this happens

Have used other video players but always come back this one, does what it should without fuss. I would like to have the ability to take a photo/screenshot returned.

Last vr was pretty good because while screen mirroring by pressing home button we can do other things without disturbing video screen mirroring but now can't

I would like to click on my video then watch it from the start and not to continue from where I left off. Which is happening all the time. Please fix this

This video player has no features at all. Like video capturing and no setting option given and also no live video working. Boring

Good to be able to view all my videos separately from my photos. However it doesn't​ support some mp4 videos. Still have to rely on other video players.

Its nice..watching videos in this is excellent..but its not supporting ac3 codec..and some audio formats..

garbage app after the last update my video files regurarly get corrupted and "cannot be found"

It's very limited in organizing. And would prefer a motion preview before selecting.
