The Samsung Gear application connects your Samsung Gear to your mobile device. It also manages and monitors the Samsung Gear features and applications you've installed through Gear Apps.

This is an amazing app. I can take this with me almost anywhere. The best feature is the waterproof make of it for my Gear S2. I can swim in it! The only real time I ever need to take it off is when it's charging. Great design! One area of improvement could be to sync better with the Samsung apps. One my favs is the Samsung Health. More than half my steps never get counted because my watch never successfully syncs with my phone; no matter how many times I refresh it. It's ok. I go on without it. The Samsung Gear app is awesome!

I have a Gear Fit 2 that is not even 1 day old and it's not working. It worked this morning then I installed the updates. Now none of the widgets work, I keep getting a message on the screen that says "tap to upload data." When I tap the screen goes completely black. I have uninstalled and reinstalled all the apps several times and have tried powering it off and then back on. I'm sure it's not my phone because I have the Galaxy S8 that's brand new too. I'm about to return it and get a fit bit.

No real connection to smart things same brand. This was promised years ago. I want to be able to control all of my devices natively via the gear. Simple programming and ability to turn on and off everything connected. Also more widgets, widgets that are easily able to manipulate multiple functions the gear can do at once, also ability to set heart rate to show real time output without having to activate a exercise program.

I have a Nexus 6P and I'm running Android O. App working fine when I was running on Android Nougat. But since I updated Samsung Pay force closes on the phone and doesn't even show up on the watch. I've gave it over a month and the app has not been updated to resolve this problem. The final API is out now so please get the updated and working. It's the only app on my whole phone that force closes on Android O everything else is completely stable.

First thing I noticed is that it has offset the watch face thumbnails, currently selected, to preceding watch name. Not a huge glitch but something worth noting. Haven't even been able to delve into the update past that point yet before being asked to rate this app....otherwise I am pleased with the functionality of the device and the app in general (except the battery life since I started the whole smartwatch experience with one which had a 7 to 10 day battery life. but really, the Gear S3 is a great device.

I used this app for the last year and half with my gear S and it was awesome. Now after their update yesterday it doesn't even want to pair up because apparently it's not supporting gear s anymore. Some of us still like our original gear s. Is there a way that I can still sync my gear s to it so I can see my texts, email, etc? NOT HAPPY!!

I recently purchased the S3 Frontier and so far it has been nothing short of fricken awesome. The battery life would probably last as advertised but I am so amazed at what it can do that I very seldom quit playing with it. This app has everything you would want to accompany the phone. Have fun exploring.

I keep getting Gear S plug in has stopped when I open app and click watch faces. Note4 6.0.1 UPDATE: had to reset lost watch faces that I liked that are no longer available. Lost ability to rearrange apps. Update 5.27.2017: found the reorder button. The three dots are white in the top right hand corner, which makes it hard to see. Should be black.

App still will require to login again and again, remember my ID doesnt work. Store is really hard to navigate and search. Poor selection of useful apps (nearly 100% of content are watch faces and some raw prototype apps) and there are no noticable improvements. Gear fit is a great and capable device, however the software is lagging behind. Samsung, if have decided to make an app store, please do it properly, so it'll be useful!

Gear app stopped syncing steps with s health, both apps are updated. S health says it's connected to gear but no step data is syncing. I've set s health source data from gear only. Ugh Had to Uninstall and reinstall as advised, now it works. I hope it gets smoother as upgrades are made. Overall I'm still using and will continue to since I like the s2 classic watch

Like all the features except for floors climbed. That is ridiculously way off. It will have me climbing 10 floors just walking back and forth a few times in the 1 floor apartment. Everything else seems pretty consistent. Would definitely like to view everything on the pc or tablet to get a better view of the info.

It is very easy to use and adds a lot of functionally to the Gear Fit 2. I really enjoy having the notifications to my Gear Fit from the phone. I have a no Samsung phone and it still works fine, although reply back messages you can't do from gear fit you can only read them.

I'm really liking all the available tracking features, and I like that I can add and remove as works best for me. The sleep monitor is very helpful and could only be better if it gave me a report of heart rate numbers through the night. That would help me see that my sleep apnea treatment is working. Also, I'd like to see my active minutes total from my phone on my band.

Simply put, a necessity. Easy to use and learn. I came to samsung this year for the first time (after 5 years with apple) with the S7 and gear s3 at once, it's a lot to learn but I don't think samsung could make it any easier to do so. Don't know how I managed all these years after these last few days with Samsung

I have Samsung S6 with a Samsung Gear 2 watch. After the latest update I cannot install any watch. It doesn't throw any error. It just shows a message and closes it quickly (instantly). Please help. Update: after performing your recommendation the issue still exists. I have also tried factory resetting my S2 watch and reinstalling Samsung Gear and Galaxy Apps applications on my phone but no luck :(

With time Samsung has made the gear watch better and better. Still has a while to go but it's getting there. Maybe implement the Google voice or do Bixby? I feel instead of using Google they are always trying to do their own.... which is cool.... but make it work good before releasing the product. They have more apps now. That's a plus. Still no where near the amount Google or Apple has.

Ever since new update, cannot send quick text from watch. I can edit or add text from my phone but cannot use them with my watch. I do love all the other options. When I do brisk walks or get my heart elevated it automatically helps me stay motivated. Really like that. Please fix texting from watch. Thanks.

There's no reason access to contacts should be required for basic usage. This is a Trojan horse. Reply: My statement still stands. If Samsung was interested in the user experience and not harvesting personal information it should allow users to run the app without providing access to all contacts. If the user wants to run functionality that requires contacts then request contact info and explain why.

I never thought i wanted a watch like this, but i got it free with my new samsung galaxy s7 edge. This watch is so much fun.I love that I can wear it kayaking!!! I was always nervous that l would get my cell wet and wreck it. I also love that I can use samsung pay with it, and i van track my steps, there is so much you can do with it!! So happy with it.

Ok so I have the Samsung gear 2 and I also have a fitbit, Samsung you guys have amazing things , one thing I wish you guy can do like fitbit does it has community based on what people like to do choice like walking hiking running .... Your guys product would be amazing then . But I can tell you this I wear my fitbit more because of the community base feature it has. Time to step up your game . I don't have friends that have a Samsung products so I would like to add random people.

after my first week, I'm liking it. It's keeping track of my steps and sleep Pretty accurately. It's still not recognizing my voice, but I haven't tried very hard yet. After I've had a little more time, I will revise my review and probably bump up to 5 stars... I just haven't figured out 5 stars worth yet

very sad that can't use it in Guinea Bissau. just got a brand new gear s2. when trying to link using the app it says download failed. try again. Galaxy app also stating limited list of apps available for that country. Shouldn't we purchase samsung products in country like this one? very disappointed. S7 Edge android 7.0.

The app is not compatible with Gear fit 2. After installing it followed by the Fit 2 plugin the screens just disappear from the watch. This has happened with the latest update in March. People have been complaining and giving low ratings but Samsung just doesn't look at it. Indeed a poor support. Do not install the software. It is better that you use the first without your mobile. I made a mistake of buying a Fit2

Update:I have already reset the watch twice and reinstalled the app on my phone. Today I contacted Samsung and they are servicing my watch under warranty so lets see how this goes Updates breaks gear s2's most basic function. Time is always displayed an hour in front of what i set it to

I use this every day. The latest update just the other day took away my ability to control my icon X unless I give it permission to access my contacts!?. It won't even allow you to open the app. You don't need access to my contacts in order for me to control the volume in my buds. This makes no sense. Edit: There was another update on 4-3. I don't know if it installed or not because after the download it still said that I could not use it without giving permissions to my contacts. Your own description of the app in the Play store states that access to contacts is an "optional" permission. Please remove this "required" permission so I can use the app as I originally agreed to.

This app compliments Samsung phones well. Haven't used Samsung Pay with my gear but other apps work great. At times notifications don't transfer but it is convenient to look at the gear vice pulling my phone out. It just loses its luster after a while, I have considered uninstalling and returning my gear.

It's nice and and easy to use. Has rare connection issues. The interface is very easy to use. I had a problem where my gear S3 frontier didn't connect to any of my Android phones and tablets. I had to completely factory reset . Took me a good 30 mins to figure all that stuff out.

This app worked great with my gear fit 2 and gear s 2 neo and now I can't connect anything with my phone galaxy note 4 it forced my gears to reset to factory so I lost everything and still can't connect anything. I was able to connect once and Bluetooth kept dropping and won't connect again. Fix your issues please

So far, really surprised with the quality of the gear stuff in general. Compared with other Samsung products this one is out of the park. Good job team. My only critique is that I wish there were more apps... I think Samsung needs a better strategy for luring developers to write them. Really excited for the potential of this thing. Kudos to the team, you've converted me to a smart watch user where before I was pretty critical of this technology.

So what the heck? I installed the most recent Gear app update and now my Gear S2 no longer displays new text messages from the *default Messages app* on my Galaxy 6 edge?! Come on, people! How can you screw this up? It's the default messaging app on a Samsung phone! How does that not sync with a Samsung watch?! Please fix! This is the one functionality that I used *all* the time. Very frustrating.

I am not able to use Samsung Pay and neither Am i able to control Spotify through bluetooth, seems both my s7 and Gear will have to be connected to the same Wi-Fi just to do it but how would that help if I'm on a run and I want to change my music without bringing my phone out of my backpack or pocket? Beats the portability feature of a Gear S3

Btooth says disconected when using as a remote for spotify bt on phone (note5).bt must first be turned off and on to use as remote control. I also wish i could customise S3 to show bed side clock of my choice while charging in the dock. Gear s3 frontier. Come on samsung start listening to your customers!

I upgraded from the Microsoft Band 2, which broke 3 times within a year. This is better in every way. It's lighter, more customisable, comfortable and sturdy. I've played football in it many times and other than the strap popping open from time to time I have never had a problem. Love it!

Generally it's a good app and it's able to connect many phone applications to the watch. It is however somewhat worse when it comes to non-native applications (non-Samsung). It's not possible to have these applications in the main menu (at least I haven't been able to find a way to do this. Feedback woud be appreciated)

Very useful, not at all battery draining and just great. I have a Note3, which is a pretty old phone now, and I don't have any problems. In first step, to set up gear S3 it took a longer time, but it works perfectly. People, don't blame Samsung. I'm sure, 90% of your problems you can solve yourself.

The samsung pay app within the gear app doesn't pick up my capital one banking app. It says I will be taken to the play store to download the app and never works. But on the regular samsung pay on the s7 edge. It picks up the already installed capital one app. Please fix. Otherwise I have no issues.

Awful after last few updates. So is their customer service. Contacted them like they asked and received a canned response to try things I already have done. Best part is you can't respond to the email and have to contact them all over again. Stay away from this company

My gear fit 2 worked with my samsung s7 edge 3 days ago. Then there was updates to be installed and now when connecting my gear fit to my phone it just says on a screen and says 'setting up' please fix as this worked perfectly before the updates. Your suggestion on uninstalls and unpairing didnt work either.
