Power Sharing

Phone was working fine. Then when trying to charge i got a message saying this app needed to be installed. Installed the app but still wouldnt charge. Had to leave the battery out of the phone overnight. Then it would charge on the morning. Samsung are claiming that it is a fault with the USB connection. Funny how thousands of phones develop the same issue around this update? As you can see I have received the standard answer from Samsung. There is nothing wrong with my USB connector as reported by my local phone company.

Nothing wrong with my phone until suddenly it says to download this app. And now the app is telling me i need a special cord! For it to open Ive read other reviews where samsung claims its usb malfunction. This is Bullsh*t my phone wont charge and i have a wedding this weekend and its a very busy week. I dont need this right now id give this ZERO stars if i could

Was forced to download this app to avoid rapid battery drain, which is still present, along with constant warning messages. Phone worked just fine a day ago. Sent from a Samsung Galaxy S4 Gt-i505 after the phone refusing to charge while on, and still doing so, charging very poorly when turned off.

My phone was charging in the car and this popped up and my phone refused to charge. I downloaded this app and it wouldn't let me go into the main screen. Then my mother plugged her phone into a different plug and got this message. We're both using S5s. You're going to lose customers unless you fix this update soon.

I tell you what. . If they have remotely jacked up my phone after it was working just FINE. Samsung is losing a customer. I've had a Samsung phone for the last 7 years or more. And I've never had the issues I've had with the S4 and S5. I will switch to Apple and get an IPhone before I give Samsung anymore of my money. It's ridiculous how many unsolved issues are the fault of the manufacturer and they make no effort to fix it without it being at the expense of the customer. No more Samsung... fix it or you have lost one...

Samsung, fix this issue. As all the other users below, phone was fine until today. Then all of a sudden the pop up message and now my phone won't charge normally. And don't tell us that the problem is on our side with usb. FIX IT NOW

I kept getting error messages on my phone that this was messing with my battery even though it wasn't installed. My battery has been draining so fast and the message keeps popping up even when I'm not using my phone. My phone is overheating because of it. I don't want to share power with anything I just want mine to work. It also won't charge anymore.

Was told to download this app even though I've had no problem using other chargers before with my galaxy s5. It's just stupid because it still ignores my chargers, none of which it will accept.

Phone will only charge after removing the battery from phone overnight and plugging it in. Maybe this app will help sort out oower issues. A warning pops up reminding to install this app. Maybe the issue is power sharing. This feature should not be made available when imperfect.

My cellphone was working just fine. Then suddenly I got a message that a must download this app. I did but for nothing, it still doesn't charge. This is ridiculous. Just to get a few downloads in this app, a huge company like Samsung do something like this.

So a pop up about updating galaxy apps appear i thought no problem will exist. After the update that powersharing pops up always and my s4 phone wont charge on any of the powerbank I had after that.

If you are having charging issues and getting the message you need to download this power sharing app, don't do it. Your charging port is broken. Go to Amazon and buy a new port for under $8 and replace your port. I'm a 55 year old lady and was able to do this myself. Saved me hundreds by not having to buy a new phone!

No physical problem! I downloaded this app just to give Samsung my two cents about their "standard response" to this issue after spending hours online to find many people with the same problem but no solutions and coming here and reading similar reviews. My phone is in excellent condition, this started happening suddenly, shortly after my last system update. Samsung, if you won't acknowledge there is some problem and simply want to blame it on physical damage, I'm surely not going to buy another Samsung. Further, if this many people are having the same "physical malfunction" then what does that say about Samsung quality? Either way, we are not happy customers.

Was told to downlothis app in order to not have my battery drained so annoying. It was fine a day ago and i got this phone 1 month ago and im havinh issues with the charger nlt charging.

Never used so called power sharing cable. This prompt shows up when i plug in to my docking. Now my samsung docking no longer works. What the hell is going on. Something is updated silently behind the scenes. And now my docking doesnt work with or without this app.

This app needs to be updated. I bought the power sharing cable only to find out that this app which is needed isn't compatible with my S7 Edge. So I can't use my S7 Edge with the cable to share power with my other devices. Very disappointed Samsung. Especially since the instructions included with the cable says the app isn't needed to use the cable. Cmon Samsung. Fix this.

I updated my phone the other day and then my battery started fkin up and WOULD NOT CHARGE. I took my phone to 2 sprint stores and they said they couldnt do anything about it and that my waranty was voided cause my screen was cracked. Said the most i could do is file an insurance claim, but that is such a fkin inconvenience. was forced to upgrade to a s7 and finance this new phone. What a fkin rip off. Ive talked real good about samsung ever since the first galaxy but now im super mad about this crap.

My phone was working fine, then all of a sudden I would get notifications saying it won't charge unless I get this app, which does absolutely nothing. Can only charge out of certain plugs, and out of certain outlets. These plugs/outlets work fine on other phones.

So I was able to charge my phone just fine for the first two days and now all the sudden I need this app and it still won't let me charge my phone this is why I stuck with LG and not Samsung the only reason why I got a Samsung phone was because my free phone replacement didn't offer the LG this is total crap!!!!!!!

Thanks to the firmware update that triggered the message about needing this app, I can't charge my phone at all on any charger or cable combination. Worked fine this morning. Samsung has just bricked a perfectly serviceable Galaxy S4. I'm going to have to buy another phone now. Guess what... it won't be a Samsung.

This didnt fix the problem of the updated samsung services. Only updated due to the annoying push services. Samsung FAIL yet again. I dont want to share my power. Expecting the phone to explode... Note 3. Was thinking of getting a note7, but after this not any more. Update: to fix- uninstall all thier updates. But really did it have to come to that!

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and received a strange message about this app today. Later today my phone would only intermittently charge with annoying beeping like I was unplugging and plugging in the power cord. Message boards had mentioned this app for fix and it seems to have fixed the issue once installed. Not happy about the forced install but happy to be able to charge normally again.

It worked great on my Galaxy S5 (G900F), but with my new Galaxy S7 (G930F) it doesn't work anymore... :( Does someone now if it's still compatible with S7? I've googled this but found no answer...

Didn't have phone 30 days before all these ridiculous errors started popping up, "power sharing connected/disconnected" "USB connector disconnected " "dock connected " & quickly watching my battery life drain. I didn't even have anything connected. The phone barely charges, I was forced to download this app, which still is useless and taking up space. Exhausted all steps until I had to do a master reset, which didn't solve anything. Told it's a "software issue" Seriously? Very anger as 1st time Samsung user

Tried using my charger, got a pop up talking about this app, now my phone won't charge no matter what I do. Bought an external battery charger, battery life drains INSANELY quickly. Samsung lost a life-long customer. Here I come, Apple.

There are a lot of people complaining about suddenly not being able to charge after the "power sharing" pop up.. I too am one of them.. are you suggesting that all of us suddenly have a problem with our usb port?! What a coincidence!

I have owned a S3, S4, and now an S5. When I thought my phone fried and would never charge again I was about to buy a S6. I pay cash out right for my phones and don't do contracts. After dealing with Verizon customer service we figured out that Samsung was forcing this download. No warning or instructions to download this. Just all of the sudden my phone stopped charging. This will be the last Samsung phone I'll ever buy. In one stupid move you lost a long time customer that always recommend Samsung.

Phone charged fine yesterday. Today does not charge keep getting warning to download this app still doesn't charge after downloading app. I have many Samsung products starting to lose my respect for this company.

First I got a popped up stated my charger will not work with my phone. Then another for me to download this app. Phone will not keep charge. Wth samsung. I will be calling you tomorrow!

I have no idea why I switched to a galaxy. My iPhone 4 was 50 times better than this S5. Switching back and never coming back to Android

My phone keeps saying charging, not charging and beeping Continously as if it's being plugged in and unplugged. I get this message saying to download this app. I did eventually to see if it actually helps for my Note 5. And it does the same thing before I downloaded it. My phone wouldn't let me charge it with the regular charge port. So I had to go spend 60 bucks at the phones store for a wireless charger. Still does it. I wish Samsung would stop making us download all these stupid apps.

Ever since this app forced its way onto my phone my note 5 will not charge via usb. It will only wireless charge.

I don't know How to remove the notification on power sharing. This app also no use,,,very worst

If u face any charging problem after installing this app, go to settings--application manager--open power sharing app settings--click force stop, clear data. Now you can charge your phone and also use your data cable to synchronize your data.

Furious! Had to download this. Was getting all sorts of Samsung pop ups telling me too. My phone wouldn't charge. Downloaded this and now it charges but irritating as heck!!! I shouldn't have to down load an app to charge phone!!!!!

My phone suddenly stopped charging downloaded the app and nothing happened. Talk to t-mobile and Samsung - no help. Used another cord and now it charges just fine!
