iT500 Plus for Android
After many months, finally the on/off indicator is fixed now though it takes a good 10 seconds to display the devices list. Distance alerts have been removed entirely. Statistics (logs) are still missing (this feature is a must in all smart thermostats). Also, it lacks hysteresis settings; it seems it's preset at 0.5 degrees which allows temperature variations of up to 1 degree making the interval way to big for confort; even the cheapest wired, non-smart thermostat has this setting of 0.2 or 0.3 degrees). The "dial" and "slider" control is very cumbersome for small temperature adjustment. Changing schedules does't always work, sometimes it just reverts to previous settings on it's own so you have to double check and triple check if the settings were saved. Navigation through schedules settings is still a mess. Pressing back repeatedly takes you back through all the settings you have accessed before showing the main screen. Long story short, it's still a mess.
I would prefer it if I didn't have to go through a web site to control my heating.
Great
After many months of comments on the old Salus app, it was encouraging that Salus released the new look app. At first glance the overhauled UI looked the business, however on use one suddenly realises it doesn't deliver as the new UI promised. Most of the negative comments people have raised are true. In this market, you may have excellent hardware but it is the software interface that public rate you on. All is not lost and if Salus listens to the feedback mentioned and fixes the bugs you have a winner.
Really don't know what's happened but since the update my heating is doing whatever it wants. I switch on the heating via the app but then the app switches it off. I came home today and the roof was nearly lifting it was that hot. Yet on the app it says the heating is switched off but it's on full blast. Not right impressed to be honest.
It is impossible to delete schedules. Even though it is shown in the tutorial, the Delete button on the schedule editor does not exist. So if you created some wrong schedules you are unable to delete them. I tried resertting to factory defaults to no avail. App is only useful for manual control.
The app is useless. I've turned heating off countless times via the app to come home and find heating still on. Also I've gone to bed thinking the app is set back to scheduled to find that it hasn't at all. It's completely random and does what it feels like. Don't waste ur money
Great. Better looking & functionality inproved but doesn't work well. Boost the hot water - oh no it didn't despite saying it had. Used the old clunky i e i ghe end. About to reinstall to try again.
Another pathetic attempt at creating an app that does what it wants. Connected to the internet yet can't manually adjust temperature. Takes 15 tries to set the schedule. The app never saves the set temperature. Pleae fix this useless thing!!!
The new app is shocking!! Has a mind of it's own. Switching from manual to off and it sets itself to schedule. The amount of times the heating has come on unplanned is unreal. Please get this sorted ASAP. Can't give zero stars or would!!
After initial difficulty setting up, mostly due to the confusing infographic style instructions Im finding this to be a nice piece of kit. Im only 24hours in though but so far its great. Distance alerts dont work at all but for me thats not a huge issue. The holiday setting seems to send the app into some sort of epileptic fit so that needs some work. On the whole Im very pleased.
Just have to double check settings if I change anything. Having said that I can do it from the comfort of my chair. Nice to be able to heat the house from airport arrivals yuk yuk
Do not buy this systen! Woke up this morning with the house and kids freezing because app had switched off heating. This app has a mind of it's own and often won't give me access. Programme changes can be a frustrating and when I change times it reverts to the previous time setting. Now it turns back on when I turn it off. Downgraded to 1 star. People pay for Wi-Fi functionality. Give us an app that does what it's supposed to do!
I just installed the app few mins ago. The UI looks better, but when setting a temperature there is no feedback that it has been successfully set on the thermostat or when the app finished synchronizing. Also I can't figure out what the "Distance alerts" option is useful and it seems to use the GPS constantly, even if the app is not open which leads to unnecessary battery usage.
Holiday mode is temperamental and can only set at 5. Does not always sync across devices... Ie. My partner does not see the temperature i set it at, no geo location.
I still don't understand the simple issues this app has. Even when the time program has set, it doesn't actually follow the program! Why?? It is also really difficult to set the program as it is impossible to delete an old or incorrect time setting. Further, I can't find the hot water setting on the app. So lots of issues that need fixing.
I have the same problems explained below. The worst one it's that when i set a temperature, the app it's going back to the old temperature, on it's own. We are waiting for an update...soon.
This app needs a lot more work, it seems to have a mind of its own, at times refusing to accept override temperatures, changes to the scheduled times and switching between auto, manual and off settings. To cap it all today it refuse to load. SO FAR A TOTAL LOAD OF TOSH... STILL A LOAD OF TOSH. Salus seem incapable of dealing with the bugs in the software, when will someone get off their backside and deliver an app that does not change settings of its own accord, 4th rate and dismal!!!!
Interface is much nicer than the old app, but a bit of functionality has gone. Holiday mode can now only be set for whole days, rather than between specified times, so we have to go back to the web interface to do that
When setting temperatures you click on one time setting and another comes up.
Recommended to me by my plumber friend. Only 4* as it occasionally crashes as I'm closing app.
Have the salus it500. If I set desire temp at 23 degree it will go from 22 to 24 in the house..it's not accurate enough to control the heating...plus I would like to have a history of the temperature...durring the last 7 days...
It is difficult to see when the heating is on. Could you just colour the flame when it is on?
This is unreliable guys. Can we develop an app that ensures the heating is doing what the internet thinks it's doing?
I am a heating engineer and I recommend this to my customers. I've had the salus for two years now and never had a problem with the app, or the functioning of my heating. The new app looks much more professional and never let's me down. If you have a decent phone or tablet and a good broadband connection it always works well.
Just doesn't work correctly, says heating is off when it's on and customer service said they was sorting the app just before Christmas but still no update worst app ever!!!! Please don't waste your money I think your better off going to marlin and buying a nest they actually work
I am having the same problems as other users. 1. Cannot delete scheduled events. 2. The app ignores scheduled events anyway. 3. In manual control I have to set the temperature two or three times as it keeps snapping back to the previous setting. 4. The physical thermostat does not seem to accurately read the room temperature.
Demo button is useless. It requires an account to access the demo section. But, to register, you have to have a device... Uninstall!
As other users report, since the update, the app does what it was and constantly chaces its settings without on its own, which is really fustrating.
As others state it does at it says but the updates when 1st installing take for ever as I've fitted a few I'm not sure how long other competitors take to update .
Can't delete times, worse UI ever. Geo fence alert drains battery
Looks like not enough testing has been done before release - I've reverted to using the old app
Couldn't believe they could release a worse app than the first. They did!
Great app...this improved version makes it more simple
Works well but would like to be able to control via Amazon echo.
Rubbisg.. wish i had gone with nest or hive
Waste of money
It doesn't work.....it's that simple.
The app is much better and more stable on Android but there's still way too much hysteresis and it's not adjustable, which is a shame as we're probably going to have to ditch the whole system in favour of one with adjustable hysteresis. Annoying when this could so easily be implemented in software.

Thank you Salus for solving (in the last update) the issue with the flame not reflecting the actual state of the ignition on the heater. I am confused abut the new "wifi style" button on the interface (down left, above "SCHEDULE"). It opens a popup showing a signal level, but it isn't documented. What does it mean? Please consider implementing a logging feature (logging the intervals of time when the heating was on and when the heating was off). It would be useful for those who need tuning the schedules or the desired temperature for comfort and/or economy.
