"Spen 5 Box Flashcards" puts the flashcards right in your pocket. You can create edit and study your own flashcards or just take them from your friend and import.
Long-term memory allows us to retail material learnt over a long period of time. It has been noticed that in order to aquire long-term knowledge, you have to periodically come back and re-learn (or repeate) the material.
This app works off of the Leitner flashcard learning method and lets you learn flashcards very efficiently by quizing you just before you forget.(forgetting curve - Ebbinghaus), At first it gives you 24 hours to learn the cards then it starts quizing you in the brain tab.
Leitner's system consists of a cardboard box separated into a number of compartments. The compartments are filled with flashcards and the flashcards are moved from one compartment to another, according to the current level of knowledge. When a flashcard is answered correctly it is promoted to the next compartment. When a flashcard is answered incorrectly it is demoted to the first compartment.
How It Works:
- When studying the flashcards in a given compartment you examine the flashcards sequentially and indicate success or failure.
- All flashcards that were answered correctly are promoted to the next compartment. Flashcards that were not answered correctly are demoted to the first (or top) compartment.
- Flashcards in the top compartment remain in the top compartment if you failed to give the correct answer.
- Flashcards in the bottom compartment remain there if you gave the correct answer.
- A card file is complete when all flashcards are in the lowest compartment. Each flashcard needs to be consecutively answered successfully the same number of times for all flashcards to be in the final (learned) compartment.
The result of the Leitner system is that you are allowed to prioritize your studying, focusing on the flashcards that are troubling you when you are keen and reviewing the easier flashcards when you want a lighter study session.
With the Leitner learning system it is possible to separate the flashcards into distinct groups of your current retention potential. You spend the most time on learning and repeating the flashcards which you don’t know well.
Also by importing pictures in your cards you can use your visual memory to learn anything that you want.
Export & Import:
Export and share your flashcards and study with your friends.
You can create different categories and if necessary any time you can rename/delete/export them or import and add flashcards to existing/new category.
When add new flashcards you can use:
- Multi Window Support
- Multi Instance Support
- SPen Window Support
- Text input and adjustment
- Pen type, pen size, color adjustment
- Change Background
- Import Photos from Cloud-based App and Gallery
- Taking a picture and import
- Redo
- Undo
- Portrait and landscape Orientation support
In setting you can change and customize your flashcard showing time and also you can change the daily limitation flashcards to show in each box.
To overview your learning progress you can use the status menu button.
To test yourself, you can change to exam mode (brain tab), it's recommended each 24 hours you test yourself.
The flashcard(s) that moving to higher box isn't showing more; just will be shown before you forget them. (Leitner system)

Love the interface and spen/drawing awesomeness. Only complaints: cant use capital letters in catergory titles, crashes when using fill paint, will mot import pic from gallery (but will take photo!! Awesome) this is a perfect app for taking real flashcards drawing and typing so easy to change up. Had problems exporting. Cross platform would be a huge plus

Love the s pen feature and menu. But the brain mode did not work. The settings are confusing. Love: s pen mode, s pen options, text options, picture insert option, background color options. Currently works better on a tablet. Just needs a little improvement.

Ive only used it for 30 mins to study and found It won't save a category label that has only numbers, or has spaces in it. Another issue is the program won't paste an image saved on my device (DCIM).There's others as well, I'd appreciate a fix or my money back.

Just purchased Spen Leitner Flashcards Pro. Read instructions and manual. The ability to handwrite, use keyboard and import picture is a plus. However a few functions are missing or could be improved. 1-Adding categories. The categories are not easily visible. 2-The menu function and min/max are missing on the menu bar 3-Import category does not work 4-The manual describes function vaguely. If Improved, this could be one the most versatile app in the market.

I think with the stylus the text would be ok but I have galaxy s4 so no stylus input. The problem is the text is cut off unless size is small. when I try to solve the problem by resizing the text box, the margin of error for the small points you have to press is so small it just relocates the text box instead of making it bigger. Again with stylus input you may have a happy result instead.

I have been using this application for about two months. I waited this long to be able to write a fair and accurate review about this application, and I have to say, its PERFECT. Many years ago I came across this concept, and this method of learning, which lead me to make my own physical version of this out of wood. I could write cards and learn them easily with this method. Recently I came across this application, and I have to say I am very very impressed.

I love the concept. It just needs some improvements, or maybe an instruction manual. I have not found a way to edit a wat to edit or delete a card. I could just be overlooking it though. Edit: I was overlooking it! You simply hold your pen on the card until the menu appears. So, for future users I would definately try adding a tutorial video or a built in tutorial stack with a few simple pics and explanations of how to use this app. Great app though. I am a nursing student and this has really helped.

First off this app ia amazing. I have a note 10.1 and the stylus works great making cards with handwriting effortless. Also the creator of the app is awesome, responded back to me nearly immediatly as I berouged him with multiple e-mails. Let me explain this app: it works off of the Leitner flashcard learning method (look it up on the internet for more info on that) so it gives you 24 hours to learn the cards then it starts quizing you in the brain tab (pro version). Also it works great in pro version taking direct pics and copied pics so if you have a picture you want to memorize that works amazing. I am a medical student and this app is the best samsung app for its stylus there is! Of course I only give it 4 stars because there is a lot of room for improvements mainly small things and making the app smoother and more INTUITIVE. You can root your device add multiwindow functionality and work off other apps to add info so you dont have to keep switching back and forth. I think adding instructions and info on how it works would be great too. Great job on this app and I hope it keeps evolving, paying for this app to help the cause!
