About House mouse and field mouse
One beautiful day, a field mouse woke up in the middle of a fragrant field.
He stretched and watched the sun rising from the East. This field was so familiar.
He was tired of eating rice, corn and potato on the field. No one played tig and tag with him in this vast place and that made him sad.
“If only I lived in a castle like the house mouse, It was warm in the castle, and there’s a lot of meat and fish and many kinds of delicious food,” thought the field mouse.
Remembering his best friend house mouse living in a villa, the field mouse immediately invited the house mouse to his house.
After treating his friend to a big meal, the field mouse offered:
- Do you want to stay in my house? I’m sick of my life. Can we exchange our house?
Seeing his friend so excited, the house mouse honestly advised the field mouse:
- You should stay here and never think about living in a villa. It is a confined, miserable and dangerous life. I only wish to escape from that place.
Having thought that the house mouse did not want good things for him, the filed mouse blamed:
- Up to now, I’ve always given you my delicious food. I can’t believe you’re so selfish. From now on, we are not friends anymore!
Fearing that his friend misunderstood him, the house mouse had to agree. To make sure that the house mouse would not ask the happy life in the villa back, the field mouse even wrote a commitment and made his friend sign on it.
The first day in the villa, the field mouse enjoyed it very much. His hole was so warm and fragrant, there was no cold wind roaring outside and cold rain slapping on his face.
He slept soundly all day.
On the second day, the field mouse woke up feeling very hungry. He looked for food around the house but all he saw were husks, trash and old vegetable roots.
He smelt pork and chicken in the fridge but no matter how hard he tried, he could not open the fridge door.
Refusing to surrender, he crept back into his hole waiting for an opportunity.
On the third day, the host had a party at night. After the party had ended, there was still plenty of food on the table. Grilled meat, praised pork… which smelt so good.
After waiting for everyone to leave, the field mouse jumped on the table leisurely and enjoyed the compensation for his hunger in the last two days.
He ate everything on the table incessantly without realizing that two flashing eyes were looking at him from the dark corner of the room.
- Meow, meow! Hey stupid mouse, how dare you eat my food?
Then the cat jumped on the table and grabbed the mouse.
The mouse fell on the floor painfully, he hurriedly ran into his hole. Feeling tired of watching the mouse, the cat went away.
The mouse continued eating calmly and playing until he broke some dishes.
Hearing the noise, the host came into the room with a stick in his hand. Seeing the mouse, he was furios. He tried to catch and hit him with the stick.
The field mouse ran away, bumping against chairs, tables and random stuff in the house, and hurting himself.
“That’s enough, I don’t want to live in this dangerous place anymore, I have to go home.” He thought to himself and tried to escape through a tiny door.
At midnight, he knocked on the house mouse’s door. Seeing his friend, the house mouse understood everything.
He immediately bandaged his friend’s wounds and said:
- Although this house is mine now, I’ll be glad if you stay here with me.
The field mouse was extremely grateful and he thanked his kind friend a thousand times. Since then he never dreamt of the life in the villa.
