About A monkey building his house
A monkey building his house
In an immense forest, there was a troop of monkeys living together.
Though they lived in sanity, they had a strict rule:
Baby monkey had to leave the troop and live independently for three years before coming back with family.
That year, it was the Yellow Monkey's turn to go. Before he left, his mother told him:
- It is not that we don't love you, your dad and I just want you to be independent.
- I understand. Goodbye mommy.
The Yellow Monkey started his journey. He went a long way until he found a beautiful hill with flowers covering all over the place.
Falling for the scenery, he decided to build his home there.
While he was working, other animals passing by started discussing.
First Brown Squirrel advised him:
- Hey monkey, you should not buildyour house here, it's too far from the stream.
You are not going to walk for a mile every time you want to drink, aren’t you?
Hearing that, the monkey felt quite confused and did not want to continue anymore.
Rabbit encouraged him:
- The winter is coming, it’ll be warmer if you live far from the stream.
So the monkey determined to get back to his work and made a big window.
Sparrow told Monkey:
- Be careful my friend, the thief might break into your house through your big window.
So the monkey used bricks to cover the window. This time, Blackcock suggested:
- Hey, your house will be stuffy without the window.
Things kept going on like that and the monkey couldn’t finish his house. Then the winter came, it was very cold, the monkey could not but sit under a tree and cried.
The Elephant was walking by when he saw the little crying Monkey. He asked:
- Why are you crying?
The monkey told him the whole story. The old elephant took the young monkey back to his house to give him a warm shelter.
He said:
- You should keep your opinion whatever they say. Their words are only recommendations, just do what you believe you should.
Next morning, the monkey said farewell to the elephant and got back to his work. Whatever other people said, he just smiled back and did not care anymore.
Finally, Yellow Monkey had finished his house. He was really happy and grateful to the elephant who had taught him a meaningful lesson.
