Safari To Go for Android
Access to lots of content. App doesn't give you anywhere close to Kindle app for reading ease and experience. Font super small on first open of book. Then weird how to get the font normal again. Oh well...
Worst support. I company "TCS" provides safari membership. Safari just says alternate login not available right now all the time.
Amazing resource for learning but the App absolutely sucks!! You cant enlarge fonts in the actual app. And at times it glitches and changes font size on its own. I have Samsung Galaxy S5.
I am able to login using regular or mobile browsers. But, this application always says invalid session. Very annoying.
Great content. Very inconvenient reading app. Almost no options to customize the view. Letter size, if adjusted, keeps resetting to default when you rotate the screen.
This is only for this application and not the content which is great. It's awful! In black background mode you have invisible text. Switching back to the app and it's displaying tiny text. It hasn't forgotten what you set just isn't displaying correctly, because if you but the smaller text button the text with grow to one level down from where it was set. When opening your offline books it says, '' retrieving content" which eventually results in an error because you downloaded the book because your connection is shocking where you intend to read the book. You can't get a quick view of the table of contents while offline. Honestly the experience would be better if it was just a pdf.
Latest version forgets my font size and defaults to tiny font. Otherwise a good app but this is a major usability issue. Example book: refactoring to patterns Update: Safari Queue app does have this problem
Earlier this app was working good. But all of a sudden, its not working. After giving organization name and credential, its redirecting to acknowledgement page. From there proceed button is not working. And its kind of stuck there.
The text presentation is not good, the fonts are simply to small (in default settings) and the distance between the lines is too short, all in all not a very pleasent experience to read the text in this application. The ios based version is good though.
This app really needs some love, as it just doesn't do its job. The controls are really flaky and don't always do what they should. Example: hit the center to display the UI controls, and if there's a picture on the page it shows the picture zoom, going back via button or controls remove the UI controls again. They also disappear too quickly. The content is great, but this app isn't. Please make it work better. Also, you could look into the newsstand format, and follow and Material design guidelines. It would make it really easy to use and intuitive.
I asked my company to contract this service due to my previous experience with safari books.. But this app is completely put of date... A 2012 app really? Don't you think your clients deserve some better... Like safari queue?... As I could see the content provided is basically the same.. But this version is far more limited... Really upset... I think I ask them to get back to skillsoft...
Please add screen cast feature (or make an app for Roku). App often locks up, or doesn't register that I watched a lesson and starts me back on a video I've already watched. Love what's available to me through the Safari subscription but wish it were accessible in a more user friendly way.
I really like the Safari web site, but the app simply doesn't work on my Nexus 9 tablet. I have access through ACM, but every time I try to log in, it does in fact log me in and I can see my books, but within seconds the screen flips and I get "your session has been logged out, resetting session". It takes me back to the login screen, and we repeat the same steps again and again. I can't give the app more than one star because it consistently fails for me on a stock Google device.
Moving between pages is flaky. Either it doesn't move, or, moves two pages at a time. Problem occurs in Nexus 7 and Samsung S6. Annoyingly, when I return to reading a book after sound something else on the phone, the font size is very small; as soon as I increase it, the page jumps back to the star of the last very chapter and I then have to scroll ask the way forward to my last reading position which is frustrating. Good choice of books
I think either you don't offer app for phone, but if you do, Pls make it to minimum usability. As minimum, I expect the texts be legible on phone screen. But the app has no option to adjust font size, even on pure text pages. The phone app is literally not usable to me.
This app really needs some brushing. Dark mode is just useless as you always see a disgusting white frame around text. Text becomes super small after switching to another application and back. Please fix it.
There is very, VERY little reason (okay, no reason) to reset the view to zoomed all the way out EVERY TIME THE APPLICATION IS STARTED. Honestly, just bad coding. You might try to read some of the books you proudly provide access to. They may help.
I am having a corporate account and for last few days it's not allowing me to login on my iPad and Android application. It's showing error as "invalid session Id". While there is no issue in login in the browser.
Login is really buggy can't use the app at all. Every great once in a while I can login in but then loses my login and I have to start over. Web app is much better. Wish I could give negative stars!
The Safari subscription model gives me access to amazingly useful and current content. The Safari app works, but has lots of usability bugs. For example, I have to increase the font size in order to read on my Nexus 7, but this causes render problems such as clipping the left margin. Safari sometimes resets my font choice when turning the page. I'm really happy overall with Safari. The app just needs some love. Or maybe move the longtime original Safari members to the new reader app and close this one?
The Safari subscription itself is awesome. However, there are two major issues with the app that prevent me from wanting to use it. The first is that I have trouble reading because there is too much contrast. Other e-readers provide the ability to make the background light brown or off white, which makes it much easier on my eyes. The second problem is that the first page I read when I reopen a book is formatted as if I'm reading it on a computer monitor.
When reading a book with code samples, some pages have very small font which I struggle to resize. Switching from portrait to landscape also makes the text too small to read. While most text can be resized, illustrations and math formulas cannot. The search feature is terrible, as the "back" button after choosing a match exits the book! Overall this is very bad for a paid service.
I find safari really useful but the android app is buggy compared to the the IOS counterpart. It has a really frustrating bug when you navigate to a page from the table of contents or a search. The font size is tiny causing you to constantly resize. This the affects the next page making the first time massive. Happens on tablet and phone.
Constantly skips back to start of chapter when returning to app or even when phone changes orientation. Bookmarks do not appear to work, only sending to start of chapter. However is nice to have books on mobile, and able to organize them into folders. App does appear to sync last read book from web app.

I'd hoped to use this app because of its ability to store books offline. Unfortunately, the formatting is so poor that some of my books are unreadable.
Despite huge amount of great content, it's almost impossible to use this app and to stay calm. It works slow, forgets what you were reading 2 weeks ago, gets you 10 pages back when you rotate the screen, zoom sucks, everything sucks in this app!!! I'd better illegally download books, read them with normal app and then pay fine. Really, you have to do something with it! It's hard to believe that this is a commercial product.

The content is good but the application needs more improvements. Everytime I rotate my tablet, fonts get too small to read. To fix this issue I have change the font size every time which is annoying. Also, when I read source code samples stored as images, there are two issues. Font is too small to read, I have to click the image to see it bigger. The second problem is that some of those images are divided into multiple small images. I have to click the top of the image to see the top half and click the bottom to switch to the bottom half, again it's annoying.
They really ought to read some of their own books, especially any that talk about shipping half baked software with obvious usability problems. Every time you rotate the phone it loses your place. When you switch to another app it changes the font size to super-tiny. When you lock the phone it does both.
Works fine after a recent update. (Pages don't load on Lollipop. The app used to work, please fix asap. Pretty pathetic for a paid service.)
I don't understand why there is not feature that allow us to zoom in. If there is, can you allow us to zoom in by pushing fingers together in a screen like we can with Web pages. The loading time is also kinda slow. Other than that everything is fine
I used to have a corporate login with Safari and I was able to use this mobile app. It was fantastic. Now as I changed my employer, I took an individual subscription. Safari is one of the most expensive subscriptions out there. However, when I try to login with my individual account, I get an error saying that my account type is not supported. I called customer support and verified that this app will not work for individual accounts and I have to use another app but that one downloads the videos to mobile.
I do feel the app is screwed up. Please redesign the UI. There is a great content that Safari has, and it should NOT be lead down just by improper UI.
My rant: books in the offline folder cannot be opened unless Im online (?!), many books default to a very zoomed out view of each page, removing books from my 10 books folder rarely works, I often see duplicate books in my folders, it's very difficult to bring up the menu especially if there is a code snippet. I've been seeing these problems for a long time. Considering that's Safari provides hundreds of books on mobile dev it's ironic that this app is so crummy.
Good for reading books, horrible for watching video. Crashes constantly when trying to watch video and click back. Resume capability for video is a joke, restarts from the beginning. Receive a phone call and that also causes the video to start over.
Books are unreadable on my Samsung Galaxy S7. Need to go to accessibility options for the really, really big fonts just for this app and then I have to go back to tiny fonts to use every other app on my phone.
I have many books in my offline book bag. But every time I open the app (without Internet connection), it says session expire. So can't even read the offline books.
Can't even manage to login, tells me my account type is not valid. No problem logging in on other safari app.

Excellent app to read technical books. One major issue each tine i open app the fonts get reset ( unreadable size) and thus i need to increase font size each time. Please see if this can be fixed.
