MagicLight WF

Fist off I love the bulbs, currently I have 11 of them hooked up with plans to buy more. However the app really needs a few tweaks. It has a lot of features that are useful and fun to use, but it times out really quickly and needs refreshed all the time. If I had one gripe it would be that. Make it run in the back ground so I can quickly pull it back up to change settings

It says it doesn't work and to check my device's WiFi settings. What does that even mean? How am I supposed to know what to check? A more detailed error message would be appreciated. Now I'm going to have to figure it out myself. I'm glad I actually know how to work with computers and networking, but I can see why this app has such a low rating...

The bulbs seem nice but I can't get them to turn on/off at their scheduled times. Came home today and none of them were on when they needed to be. A few days ago two of the three were working fine but one wasn't. No consistency and the app is slow to connect to the lights. Have to hit refresh 2 and 3 times before it sees all the bulbs. I expect better when you spend $120 on 3 lightbulbs.

Only one suggestion. The widget only allows us to turn on ALL the lights. I have lights in multiple rooms and I'd like to only turn on certain rooms with the widget. Could you make a widget that controls groups of lights, instead of all of them? Update: the app has stopped allowing me to authorize the bulbs with my account. As a result, the bulbs are unbound and can no longer be link to Amazon Echo. It was working fine through Echo yesterday, but today the app has changed.

I use to live these light.....now they just disconnect from our WiFi for no reason and that's not the worst part.....it takes so long to reconnect them hours....even then they just won't connect. I hate that I ever bought them....I come home to the lights just doing whatever they want. I'm disappointed in this product. When they work they're awesome.....but they overall suck.

The app only finds the device about 10% of the time. It's frustrating. Never works when I try to show my friends how it "works". If this is the future of smart homes, we're better off in the dark.

The color wheel is nice, widget is nice, but the rest needs tidying up. Alarms and sunrise along with sunsets are strange and kind of useless, the music player is atrocious and almost impossible to find songs, the rest of it is a bit odd. There is a point if you leave the app up and running but turn off your phone you have to restart the app. Would really love to see some event creating (if this happens then this etc) and geotags or whatever, tracks when you're near. The light itself is amazing though

It's​ impossible to reset. Why does my WiFi network appear twice? How am I supposed to know which one is mine? I picked the wrong one, and now I have to do the entire process all over again. Very irritating and convoluted.

Really need more timers to simulate sunrise. I would love a 15min count down widget.

Sometimes works with alexa sometimes it doesn't.

This app is nearly useless, unless you have a single bulb and it doesn't bother you to manually connect to the bulb's network every time you wish to turn it on/off. Your app is broken. Fix it and I will buy more light bulbs from you; don't fix it and I will purchase the rest elsewhere. I have bought one bulb so far, and am not happy with the fact that I cannot connect it to my home wifi.

This was a fantastic app until I upgraded to Android 7 nougat. Now my Nexus 6p will only freeze on the homescreen. Please fix .. I have tried uninstalled and reinstall. Same just freezes on Splash Screen. Developers contacted me and I tested the beta version for 7..it works fine for me. They released an update. Thank you for the support.

Using current version and I see the same problems that Michel mentioned. Additionally the music feature does not allow you to find music it auto detects. Which is fine if you need music set up to the Google hangouts chime. Love the bulb the software is meh.

The light itself is fantastic. However the timer functions are very limited. It does not allow you to select from the night light ability and the RGB control is not selectable for fine control of the desired colors.

Works for maybe 6 hours after reset then fails to find bulb without reset. Terrible product.

This app controls an amazing bulb but it needs a bit of polish to be as great. My biggest gripe is loss of connectivity during even short periods of inactivity. Pick up phone that's still focused on this app and nothing works before manual refresh which is a good 10 seconds, impacting practicality. Loading animation needs to go, night mode and more functional widgets desperately needed. These issues are all that prevent me from investing in more of these great bulbs.

This is a great piece of hardware but the app needs improvement if it wishes to prove as useful. As many others have said, the loading animation is beyond annoying. Considering this is an app you're almost certainly using in dimly lit situations, the app desperately needs a night mode as it's very straining on the eyes. Also really need the ability to adjust brightness within pattern modes and need more widgets. Great bulb, app shows promise. Hopefully the devs will respond to this feedback. Thanks!

I have 8 of these in my carport. Two of them connect intermittently. Also a dawn to dusk opinion would be nice.

It needs to be as the iPhone version

My biggest complaint is the start up animation loading the app. That is unnecessary and time wasting when all you are trying to do is quickly turn on the lights. It should just open immediately. The lights are amazing. I wish you could save your color profiles in the patterns section but I'm assuming that will be updated. Overall it's a great idea and product and hope that future updates can make this a 5 star rating.

I thought you got rid of that time-wasting startup animation, but it turns out it's only gone when off wifi. At least global control works now.

I bought three of these LED BULBS, I simply LOVE them. I'm using them as outdoor lighting and they just make the entire exterior of my home POP! My neighbors also love them. It was extremely easy to set up and customize the bulbs, I really like all the special features you get with this bulb....I can go on and on, but if you're on the fence about purchasing don't be it's a really cool product & customer service is outstanding. Cheers! *^_^*

Best of the batch app. Their several Apps that let U control these Wifi RGB LED bulbs. This is the only 1 that seems to be improving and actually adding features. Many want IFF or Echo support. Honestly the developers should add Trigger and Tasker support in the meantime. Since both are well documented and would be easy to add. I have 3 of the Magiclight WF v5 10-Watt bulbs
