Russian Alphabet Mastery

So I was skeptical of the app but gave it a try. First of all, it's a very simple app hosting instructional videos. I want to add that I first started trying to learn Russian through DuoLingo and Busuu. It seemed impossible, as they jumped in expecting users to understand what it all meant and how to pronounce it. This may work for learning Spanish or German, but Russian uses a while difference alphabet! Well, these videos start at the basics, and teach you pronunciation, and so on. I really needed this.

Learning to read a new language is hard. Where to begin? The Cyrillic alphabets 33 letters can be overwhelming. This app is simple, it's only a series of videos with a checkmark list, but they are very effective. I love the singular presentation of the letters and the contextual and integral method of teaching. I am very happy with the results, it did take me more then three hours but I am proud to have learned a new alphabet so fast. I wish the app had a chart of all the letters. Other then that, 5 stars.

I wanted to learn Russian thru another app and they start out using English sounds and letters, I wanted to learn in the Cyrillic alphabet. Within an hour of using this app, I could start pronouncing words on my own. Highly recommend for learning sounds and visual letter references! I do wish the app would pause and save spot in video tutorial. Often I would have to stop only to come back and the video has to play from beginning. Overall, still a great way to start learning a language. Thank you!

Took me a little longer than 3 hours but this works so well! I'm shocked! Seriously! Fantastic app. So easy to learn. I just needed to repeat it a few times. My Russian friends can't believe it! I really didn't think I'd ever learn it. Great way to learn. I want whatever else you have and I'll pay for it! I can read Russian?! So weird!

Very effective method to learn the Cyrillic alphabet, strongly recommended! However, the app is poorly designed and make it tedious to use. The videos are sometimes too slow for fast learners, so it would be great to be able to choose the video speed (x1, x1.25, x1.5, x2), or skip to the next slide without having to wait for it to appear. Also, adding the learnt letters to the titles would enable a very simple and effective review of what has been learnt. Aside from these tips, thank you for the great job!

I have a really good grasp of the Cyrillic alphabet now after one day with it. Thank you so much! It would be even more effective if there's a quick review the letters we have covered maybe after every 4 parts or so. I just recorded them as I went along and reviewed

You obviously took a lot of time making this. And you did a good job. Some indication of when I press play and pause would be great. (maybe color change on the word or a depressed look etc.) nothing major just my 2 сенты (I hope I did that right) lol

I've completed 4 lessons and am much more comfortable with letters and pronunciation than after several weeks of study elsewhere. Like others I started Russian with duolingo but struggled. While I will continue to use duolingo, this is probably the best way to get started.

Other than the slight echo in the background when dude talks its a sweet little app. I would suggest taking some notes ., BUT don't mess up their method, cause it works. I can honestly read Russian now, at a slow pace but yes I can now read Russian.Not kidding , I'm a real dude not a paid comment dude. #trump16

This app was the one which had the shortest lifespan on my device. Was it terrible? Not for sure, absolutely other way around. It did what it promised to do and because I was so excited I finished all the 13 lessons in less than 2 hours. Thanks dear producer.

I only played the first lesson last night but I still remember it in detail. Unlike others ive tried where the first week im still replaying the first two lessons totally clueless. This is going to work!

Don't do reviews, however tried lots of apps for russian and found them too hard to begin with. This is such a simple idea that really allows you to start saying the russian alphabet as it should sound. Use this then move on to other apps it will give you a great head start , carnt recommend it enough,, (finally done a review after 4 years lol )

It is a very big app just because it is actually a collection of videos put in order. The main idea is good, but it utterly loses out on the Android platform. In an app you expect some degree of interactivity, that this video list does not provide. You cannot even play the videos on fullscreen mode or rotate the device. To sum it up: great idea, awful implementation.

I have been trying to learn Russian but having difficulty since I did not know the Cyrillic alphabet. This app was amazing and I can now fearlessly read Russian, and learning to speak it has become so much easier for me! The way it is presented is easy to pick up and remember. It did a great job of building on each new level of learning using real Russian signs. I can't think of a way to improve on this app!

Wow - I thought learning Russian was going to be too hard, but this app changed my mind. being able to sound out McDonnalds by lession3 Iwas hooked. who would give this 1 star? Unbelievable!. True it could use bookmarks, but thats not the important part! thank you!

I was dreading trying to get my head around the Russian alphabet but this app has made it easy and enjoyable. Certainly it has taken a lot longer than 3 hours but that's because I have replayed lessons over and over.

Having recently started duolingo Russian I was disappointed with the alaphabet module on the app and was considering giving up on russian even before I had barely begun but this course has re inspired me to try again. I can now read Russian which is amazing! Thanks a lot!

This actually works, and made me read cyrillic in less than three hours. It comes with no nonsense explanations and uses real signages as reading examples so you get to see it in different fonts and presentations. I know that works at least for me because that's how I learned reading in English, by asking my mom to read shop signages outside when I was little.

i was having a terrible time trying to learn the cyrillic alphabet as a secondary effect of practicing simple phrases, now i can at least recognize and pronounce any russian word easily. this is definitely the strongest foundation on which to explore the language

After trying (and failing) to learn the Russian alphabet in numerous different ways this finally worked for me! Huge download but well worth it.

It is one of the best way to read Russian without going to any classes. Everything was really perfect and I thank the developers of this app. I now really know to read Russian language because of this app. Again a big thanks for u guys GREG, MEGUMI, DASHA and others.

I'd get rid of the sign with the very confusing font (I couldn't even make out the easy letters) in Part 12 on э, but otherwise this was a very empowering and worthwhile lesson! I know the alphabet MUCH better.

I started with DuoLingo, which I've used for other languages, but was struggling as I didn't understand the characters. This is a great app to learn the Russian alphabet. I'm now confident I'll be able to read Russian in time for our trip!

The learning method in this application is based in the natural perception abilities of the human brain. I couldn't ask for a better application. Great job, guys keep it up!

Totally worth it. I went through the whole thing once and understood it. I was also able to use it offline. I recommend Duolingo to learn to communicate, but only after you use this to be able to read... Literally everything! The download may take a while but it IS worth it.

The method used in this app to learn the Cyrillic alphabet and its pronunciations can't be beat! Like many others, I started the duolingo Russian course, but was very confused by the pronunciation of vowels (why is the letter о pronounced two ways in one word? what is ь? What is the difference between е, ё, ы, и and й?). These videos are a godsend for a complete beginner. The functionality of the app is a little clunky, but not so bad to affect my rating.

I didn't think that some app would be able to teach me the Cyrillic alphabet so quickly, but I started looking through the reviews and I decided yo give it a shot and I don't regret it :)

Tried the app and was very impressed. While the principle of the app is to help you learn quickly and it does (even for somebody who was always poor at learning languages) I feel it could benefit more from just taking a bit more time, using some more examples to help just push each section and new letters that bit more as I find I am watching each video at least twice to really help

I used to think that I was a slow learner in my class, very retarded in learning a new language. But this app make feel like I am a genius, language learning machine.

As a complete beginner, this is helping me alot. They will introduce how letters work in words and sentences that I couldn't find else where. And also have a great technique to help memorize the alphabet and their sounds.. which is a must!

Very interesting way to learn to read. May not be for everyone, but the app works fine, and it feels like its set a good foundation of learning the cyrillic alphabet and how to read.

At first I thought it is impossible to learn Russian. But this app changed my perspective. Very good and useful app with an inferencive method of teaching. Now I'm able to read and write Russian (Of course with glitches and dead slow) but I'm improving. Thank you for providing such a wonderful app.

This app is EXACTLY wat i wanted as far as what i wanted to learn. I learned prior to downloading, that russian words are spelt exactly as they're pronounced so the easiest way to learn the language, is learn the alphabet. This is exactly what i was looking for. The app it self seems simply made (not in a BAD way per say) and simple to use. However with some polishing and maybe a few added features, it would seem much more.. Professional? Its a great app and its free so no complaints! Just Try it.

I admit at first the user interface made me apprehensive, however once I started the first video, I could not stop. It's addictive how easy it is to learn to read/write Russian with this app. Download it!

상당히 인상적인 앱이다. 일단 사람은 언어를 익히기에 최적화됐다는 것에 전적으로 동의한다. the bus stops at this bus stoп 이라는 식으로 적어서 러이사 알파벳을 자연스럽게 유추할 수 있도록 해뒀는데 상당히 효과적인 방법이다. 다른 단어를 외울 때도 이미 알고 있는 지식에 결합해서 익히는 방식은 아주 잘 통하는데 여기서도 마찬가지!

Just try it out, but have a pencil and paper. O and LISTEN To the instructions.

It was really gooooooood. Once I finished the whole vedio I was able to read Russian thank you so much. Best app evvvveeeerrrr.

Спасибо! Your program did what days of charts couldn't do. I had problems before with ш & щ and л & п before and a few others. Would recommend this program to anyone that's learning Russian. Works wonders!

I know, the images don't look very promising, but this app is fantastic. Whoever came up with this method is a genius. Thanks for this awesome app! Absolutely recommended for anyone who wants to be able to read Russian words aloud :D
