Runtastic Music for Android
Great app...one of the best I ran across in a long time. Would have given 5 stars but I don't like how it saving songs under wrong artist and albums or saying unknown and there is no way to edit artist or album info...Can an app do that???? If so that would be a great add
I love the concept of being able to start my music when I start my activity instead of having to use 2 separate apps. I was able to make a playlist easy enough but I want to be able to set the order of the songs instead of having them play in alphabetical order. Please add an update to allow for editing of the playlist order.
Adding all your music for use in other Runtastic apps is just not gonna happen. Why on earth can't the other Runtastic apps just make this shuffle all music? You're forced to choose a playlist and that's it. The way you make a playlist is by adding each song individually. You can't long tap on albums nor even select multiple songs. You'll be in for a lot of tapping and adding 3-4 albums is very cumbersome. There's a settings option but it only leads to "About" and "Rate us in the Google Play Store".
Runtastic used to integrate with much better players, but they seem to have disabled that functionality in order to force you to use this garbage. Can't specify which mp3s on your phone it should ignore; can't assign songs to playlists efficiently; scramble doesn't work. May switch running apps as a result
Being a workout oriented player, I was hoping for some cadence to BPM matching options. Or failing that be able to use tags to build a playlist based on BPM tags. Probably a big ask, but in my dreamworld a settings option to do something like, set cadence 140 to include BPM 70, 140, 280, set cadence 180 to include 90, 180, 260, etc... Then on the playback side have a random play option that could play cadence 140 for X minutes, switch to cadence 180 for X minutes, etc...
It was fine...for awhile. The shuffle button won't work. It doesn't have the capabilities other music apps offer. Making a Playlist should be easier than it is in this app. I do like how it integrates with my runtastic running app but want a shuffle option.
This app looks like a direct copy of the music player app from Android 1.0. Who carries music around INSIDE their phone anymore? Please support streaming services such as Spotify, Amazon Music, Google Play Music...
I think the ratings are wrong. Looking through the comments 2-3 stars at best! First of all, there are no instructions to help get started. Secondly, there are no controls. When ppl figure out how to use it, there are a lot of complaints. I'm still figuring out how to load music!!!! Argh! I saw a suggestion to go to YouTube, then mp3 to download so that's what I'll try.
I got Runtastic Pro for a running app and absolutely love the app.... BUT this music player has brought me to stop using the app altogether. Every time you start a run the music plays but it automatically stops SHUFFLING the play list, I don't want that, and once the run is started there is no way to play around with it to turn it back on. I am extremely disappointed with this and have no use for it the app now. Why won't it just let you use the music player we have on the phone?
Good luck trying to create or edit a playlist, or getting to to work at all for that matter. It's the only music player you can use with Runtastic programs and I would literally rather go out and buy an iPod than try to get this app to be of any use.
The only thing going for it is that it integrates with the runtastic apps. I could not get the shuffle feature to work, so on every workout I play through the same first few titles in my list. There is no independent volume control, so it is often hard to hear the narration in apps that walk you through an exercise. There is no way to adjust the music volume or even stop the music once the exercise app has started, without ending your workout.
I never get confused with exercise apps EXCEPT FOR THIS ONE! Trying to search for songs is impossible even with a flippin search button and theres no help in settings either so not that helpful! Not happy at all. The other runtastic app is well good tho idk what went wrong with this one
Thought the app would be great, and really handy but the scroll icon was positioned right beside/on top of the menu icon for a particular song. I'd be trying to add a song from "a" to a playlist and would end up looking at songs in "S" 95% of the time no matter what way I tried to select the menu, persevered and managed to add about 6 songs to a playlist in 15 mins of trying, gave up when after at least 10 attempts at the one song failed. Deleting the app and playing through the phones music app instead.
.what use is a music pplayer that only shows your voicemail files? None. All the songs i downloaded from google music arent showing up. Stuck with google music still. There is no compatibility with it unless you go get mp3s. If you buy your music legally this app isnt made for you.
It's buggy, it's laggy, and it crashes. Not only that, it doesn't put my playlist to shuffle. Every time I have to manually do so after starting my work out. Most of the time, when I try to do that, it just ends up crashing. Will probably uninstall soon.
To create a playlist on this app: pick one song you like, tap on its option, tap to add to playlist, select the playlist. Creating a playlist from scratch is then a workout by itself. Batch additions please.
You take the trouble to build a playlist for your session and the player re-sorts it all into alphabetical order! Not to mention it's utterly random whether it works or not, unlike random play which isn't random at all, it too is alphabetical order. And why, if it's 'integrated' does it not start playing automatically after the countdown finishes when you've hit 'start activity'?
Music for running if this helps me lose the weight I was totally love it I have never read over 105 except when I was pregnant got to get this weight off
at least the app shld make its own playlist of recently played or most played.and to be more intrestin it should change the speed of music
It should have shuffle enabled by default, now I have to select shuffle at the start of my run.. It's a bit of a nuisance..
on starting activity, and don't let countdown begin until it is connected successfully
It used to be wonderful. Now Runtastic doesn't recogize that I have music on the music app anymore.

I like using runtastic app but the Playlist auto populates alphabetically with no way of sorting the music to the order I want to hear it. Silly....
When i try to search it just searchs the songs that i have. If uts not in my music it won't let me download!!!
Bugged out two days in a row. Had to stop and uninstall it and restart my phone!

Since I installed this application, my other music apps stoped working, I don't know if this is on purpose but I'm uninstalling right now.
Can't figure out how to add music there are no instructions so will eventually delete because can't add music yet runtastic app keeps directing to the runtastic music to add.
I am probably missing something very basic: how are we supposed to import songs into playlists? I am on Runtastic Music 1.2, but I can't find any way to load any of the existing songs I have on my device
I am only using since it works with the exercise apps. Playlist doesn't follow basic design needed for selecting songs or to keep them saved. Shuffle on/off doesn't work. Cannot see what's in queue. Please just put a small amount of time into app development to improve it!
I had music from runtastic before & it was great. It came as a package of preselected songs that were popular at the present. The collection of preselected songs transitioned smoothly from one song to another. This app I downloaded today is a piece of crap. Can't look up songs. It downloaded a ringtone & I cannot delete it. It won't let me try to download anything else. No directions on use, no delete button for what is downloaded to music app, and no selection of collections of songs ready to use.
Well, adding music is as easy as copying the music files to the music folder, but it only playes the music in alphabetical order. It says it shuffles, but it still only plays alphabetically. And there is no repeat setting either.
I use it just because it is the only one compatible with Runtastic (in the way that the music reduces its volume upon voice coach). Other than that I don't find any good point (shuffle never worked though clamed to have, creating play list is very time consuming...).
So many things that should be right about this so are wrong. There is no obvious way to create a playlist (you go to the first song you want to add, select add to playlist, and from there can create a new one) there is no way to edit a playlist one built, there is no way to see the running time of an existing playlist (many people want to have a playlist that changes in intensity to match timed intervals in a workout, right?) Also, the lack of ability to import playlists from existing sources is a drawback.
Tell me when this is fixed, I'll re-installed. Till now the Android default music player is much more better. (Google music drains battery because of GG's feature, I rated it 1 star).
A really fast and easy way to download songs that you love. One problem is that I downloaded 8 songs and when I was dowlaoding more it seemed to be working but when I checked they weren't on my playlist. Apart from that it's a reaaly cool app!
Omg you people this is the best app ever All you have to do is go to youtube-mp3 web and then copy youtube video website links and it will copy the audio and it'll appear on the app. This is so awesome , FIVE STAR RATE I mean how can u ppl not like this app????????
No use because the music stops after a while . Great problem with no settings option.

I understand that this app does not really allow you to edit music within the app, but rather updates music that has been edited from outside it (I.e. from a standard music player). Since this is the case, could you try to integrate this with Spotify (similar to what you did with the runtastic running app) since I have all my workout songs saved there. I will give 5 stars if u can
