About Couch to 5K by RunDouble

RunDouble Couch to 5K goes way beyond any other Couch to 5K app! It is a complete training companion, starting with the Couch to 5K plan, and taking you right through to half marathon.

Couch to 5K by RunDouble is the easiest way to meet your goal, of running 5K in just 9 weeks, but don't feel daunted, you can take longer if you need. It follows the popular Couch to 5K plan, (not to be confused with the alternative C25K plan), written by Josh Clark.

You choose the pace - from a gentle jog to a quick run, and progress through the weeks at your leisure. Run three times a week, taking rest days between, and soon you'll be calling yourself a runner. Put your headphones on, choose your own music, and just follow the prompts. Starting with just 1 minute of running at a time, it couldn't be easier.

Couch to 5K is growing as fast as popular as workouts like Zumba, simply because of the number of people who are turning their lives around. No gym fees, no expensive equipment, no special diet. You just you, your phone, and the road. Get out there, get Couch to 5K and get yourself fit.

RunDouble now supports Android Wear, meaning you have your stats right there on your wrist - no more bulky phone holders.

Rundouble Couch to 5K includes these programs:
- Couch to 5K
- Zero to 10K
- Five to 10K
- 5K improver - Interval training
- 10K event training
- Half marathon event training
- Varying length "Fun Runs", from 1 km to 10 miles

All plans are free to try for the first two weeks, then you can upgrade for less than the cost of a coffee. The fun runs are completely free.

- The only Couch to 5K training app to feature MyFitnessPal integration, and post to your workout diary.
- Runs in the background, unlike some other apps which stop when you switch off the screen.
- Prompts you to change pace while working through the Couch to 5K training program.

- View your previous runs on your phone or on our website
- Additional pace updates at set intervals
- Half way marker

Best app for C25K, makes the job done but sadly no updates since 2014. + voice announcements tell what to do, and even when to turn around on half distance! also automatically lowers the music volume + detailed stats after the run + heart rate monitor support - doesn't handle loss of gps signal well. any underground passage leaves a dip on the pace plot - there's a webpage generated for each run. it contains a GPX download link but always returns empty file

Easy to use. Starts out at a pace that's not too easy but not too hard especially for someone like me who can walk for long periods of time but never ran for more than a minute straight. I also like that it syncs with Myfitnesspal. UPDATE: The app doesn't seem to have a constant connection to GPS so you don't get full credit for your hard work. At first I thought it was my phone but nike and map my run kept up with the GPS perfectly. I love the simple design of this app along with the options for interval training but teleporting me on the map and giving credit for 0.5 miles when I've done 1.5 miles sucks.

Q70%
by Q####:

I was very skeptical about being able to do the C25K training as it is detailed out, especially with the jump to running 20 mins straight in week 5 after never running more than 8 mins. I have been pleasantly surprised! The controls are very easy to use. The only time I have had issues w/ GPS is when running on a track in the local YMCA. Can switch between KM/Miles, can change how often the voice updates you on your pace (or whatever stats you choose for it to announce). I'm now at the end of week 6 and can say that the C25K program is the real deal and this app is a pretty decent app to assist with it. Having it log to MyFitnessPal automatically is also a very nice bonus.

Your results will be as good as your dedication and diet. This app does exactly what it's meant to do. Guide you to become a better runner. I've had nike+, addidas micoach, cardiotrainer (when it was active), and endomondo. I wish the interface was more "up to date". But the functionality is hands down the best right now. 2018 update. I'm retiring this app in favor of S Health and my nike+ training apps. They've come a long way. This one is great for specific training of races... But the others have more usefullness to me right now. Last update for this app was a year ago, i hope they didn't abandon this.

This app helped me recondition after having shin splints for over a year! And even passed a PT Test 2 mile run after a week and a half of using this and only this. Only used the run walk intervals to train and ran the whole 2 miles in 15:36. Great music integration, especially using my 175-180 beats per minute playlist. Polar Bluetooth HR Monitor works perfectly. SGalaxy S7

This is the best running app have tried. I love the simple and easy to navigate menus. I have gone from a fat slob who had never been able to run a continuous mile in 29 years of living to being able to run 2 miles in a row which is crazy for me and I'm not even done with the first program yet. I cant reccomend this app enough.

by Q####:

I have never run before and decided to give it a go to improve my stamina when horse riding. I cant believe that 3 months on I'm comfortably running 5k, have started the improver plan and have signed up for a 5k run! I even hate missing my run days. The app works really well. The only negative is that the announcements are too quiet (my music isn't that loud) and sometimes miss instructions.

I've been using this app for 3 years.. there have been others over time, but I ALWAYS come back to this one! So many different running plans and options to choose from. I cannot recommend it enough!

Just finished C25K week 1, and I'm enjoying how functional this app is. Unlike other apps, it hasn't frozen or drained my battery. It just works, giving me one less thing to worry about during my workout. I look forward to trying the other training programs once I finish this one.

This app is missing a feature that allows u to see the amount of time left and what rep it is somewhere in the corner of the phone like a small window (ex. The way YouTube has it). Also it doesnt work as a split screen on Samsung galaxy. Last thing, would be nice to see overview of the run program while running, ex. How many reps total and what kind. I purchased it bc it syncs with fitness pal and that's my favorite feature.

F70%
by F####:

It started out great. Then after a year, it just stopped. I lost all my data back to the day I started running. I emailed the help center weeks ago but didn't hear back. I'm uninstalling this App and going to try something else.

Q70%
by Q####:

This is very user-friendly and I highly recommend this app. I was very unfit when I first started, having not run in over a year and a half. So the couch to 5k concept is perfect for me. Interval training is best when your as out of shape as I am!

Q70%
by Q####:

Doesn't work well with AndroidWear. If the phone isn't on, AndroidWear stops working. I don't get any type of notification on the watch when I have to change pace. Disappointed.

by U####:

I don't usually rate (or pay for) apps, but this one really stands out. Over the last fifteen years I've tried a couple times to get into running, but I hated it: fearsome shin splints after the first mile, which would then leave me in pain for the rest of the week. Now, finally, with the help of this program and this app, I actually look forward to my every-other-day jog... all for just a couple of bucks. Very pleased.

Q70%
by Q####:

I love this app and have been using it for years (I have an autoimmune situation, and frequently have to restart my training from 0), but I had to deduct 2 stars because my last two runs have had none of the announcements. I checked my settings and restarted my phone, etc., but all my usual stats are GONE. Very frustrating.

This is a great app for doing C25K! Doesn't look as fancy as other options, but this one has every feature you need. Plus the upgrade is cheap and well worth it.

Sir. I have a doubt. We need to workout only 3 Days in a week. Is another 4 Day resting? Plz help me

Q70%

Just completed the first week and a good app so far. Wish the audio prompts would tell me how many runs I had left to complete in the run.

I finished the couch to 5k and now I'm trying out the 5k to 10k. I'm 80 lbs overweight and I was able to do it. I've been going slow and steady, and I haven't had any injuries.

This is a great app to train with. I was a couch potatoe after having my first kid. Then I downloaded this app and ran my first 5k 2 years ago. Now i have my second child and I'm going for my next 5 k! Just have to get up and do it. :) I run at 6am. Makes you feel energized the rest of the day :)

Q70%

I started a couch to 5k in July, ran my first 5k in October, and by December I was running 10-13 miles at a stretch. I hated running and this app helped me fall in love with it. I've lost over 50 pounds. Only suggestion is adding the option of average pace during intervals, instead of just at the end.

W70%
by W####:

I loved this app but the GPS stopped working after my phone updated. Run double says it's an issue with my phone but Android says the app was designed for an older version of Android. I really wish they would have kept up with Android because now I have no time, distance, or calorie stats. :(

Q70%
by Q####:

Love that I don't have to watch my clock to train. It tells me when to run and when to walk. Can also control music through app.

Q70%
by Q####:

By far the best training app I've used. It's simple and effective. It's challenging without risking injury. I love how it verbally updates me throughout my run!

G70%
by G####:

Never connects to the GPS, always gets stuck at 22-23 GPS. Why aren't that many GPS enough? I've stopped using despite of purchasing 5k plans

Q70%
by Q####:

Works great! Only on day 3 so far but the brisk walk to run intervals allow you to catch your breath and at the end I don't feel so fatigued

Q70%
by Q####:

I adored this app and was really getting into my running.... Until I came to the end of week 3. Having been using the stats to keep a check on my pace I was pretty annoyed to find that after a hard run it had failed to record anything other than time of day and date! It had also failed to map my route. I tried again another day in case it had been a 1 off but alas no. My enthusiasm took a blow because I had been watching the seconds and sometimes minutes come off my pace! To make matters worse I've had no reply to the email I sent the developers. Poor, especially as I have now parted with money for the whole app. I've now gone on to another app but would use this again if it worked like it used to! :(

This is listed as being a couch to 5K program that is free with in-app purchases. Once you download it, however, it turns out that it is a free running program, but that the couch to 5K program itself is actually one of the in-app purchases and is not a part of the free app. I think that if you're going to list it and call it couch to 5K and say that it's free, then the couch to 5K program should actually be.

On week 2 finding very easy to use considering I have never run for exercise before now. Highly recommend if you want to start running

I found the control for turning down the announcements, so it isn't trying to make me deaf anymore.

I love it. I'm not fit at all, I'm lazy. This app, paired with my fitbit and some yoga to stretch out, has got me up. It's hard work but I feel better for it and I would have no idea what I was doing without it. It has controls for my music I can pause if I need to. It's perfect

Q70%

App is advertised as a free C25K training program but fails to mention that there's a free TWO WEEK trial before being required to upgrade.

N70%

Good app. Completed the timed c25k program and can now run for 30 mins however I am only running 4k in that time. If you want to guarantee being able to complete the distance chose the distance program.

App worked fine on phone. Tried using on Polar M600 smartwatch that has Android Wear 2.0 and all app shows on watch face is "awaiting data..."

L70%
by L####:

I'm having issues with the app staying connected while my phone is locked. It loses GPS constantly during runs and will just fill in the gaps on the map at the end of the run. This leads to the pace, distance and everything being inaccurate.

Infinitely adjustable, make sure yo have your music lined up before you begin. I'm using on Samsung Note 5 with nougat. 04/15/17

A la carte purchases vanished. Took a day for them to show back up after contacting support. This never happens with other apps I have. Love the app enough to stick with it though.

Geat app - one of my faves. Allows you to play your own music which is a must for me. Good voice feedback and tells you when you're half way (another must for me). One of the best ones I tried, and I've tried quite a few.

Z70%

App does not keep GPS signal, so you don't get credit for your complete workout. I'm running 2 mile's and I usually only get a 0.70 to 1.0 mile credit. But The workouts are good and they do get you in shape!

Q70%
by Q####:

App seems okay, with a BIG problem, after a "pause" I've lost my (nearly finished) run: it just offered me to begin a new run The app seems to do that every time you switch to another one (camera in my case) -_-
