The Sheffield Star

This app is so sluggish and slow I sometimes wonder if it is working at all. I regularly get news flashes but when I try to open them I get a period of nothing followed by a period of black screen followed by a long delay before I get the article. This needs sorting out and as an app it is an embarrassment.

This has to be the worst news app ever. It either takes forever to load or completely stops responding with just a black screen. When it rarely works all you can see is ads. I think that it is those ads loading are slowing it down. It even wanted me to fill out a Google questionnaire before I could read an article which then forced the app to close. It's so infuriating that it is unusable. I have to delete the app or I will throw my phone at the wall in frustration. It's not my phone as other apps work.

Are you stupid....? The app is terrible already.

Come on star get your head out of your ass and make some updates it's so slow I've not seen anything like it. I've allway stud by star newspaper but this app is shocking

Either sluggish or hangs completely. Force closed right after latest update. Either get this working or pull it from the store altogether. Rubbish!

I can't even get the app to open at the moment! It's shocking, going to uninstall as wasting space!

This is rubbish because it's doesn't work, sort it out then it will be 5 stars

Sometimes it's quicker to go down to my local newsagent to buy a copy of The Star whilst I wait for it to load. Shocking standard of application development.

Fails to load. Just a blank screen. Poor reviews since January so obviously Johnston press cant be arsed to do owt abart it. UTB

Very slow to react. Also can be days behind. Not good if you want to know what is happening now.

This app is just a mess and it always has been.Its so slow that it can take 30 minutes to load a story from the headline.I can't see how an update by, probably, the same IT 'experts' who devised the app in the first place then released it for use knowing that it was not working as it should and yet did nothing for over 12 months to correct the flaws before issuing an update to cure stability issues.Better to admit defeat now, scrap the app and save everyone's time.

Very poor app. Cannot get it to load on my Galaxy S5. Never had issue with other apps.

This app needs some serious attention,takes forever to activate and you can have your lunch before it activates, plus it freezes regularly making you turn your phone off so you can use it again.

Have already had to reinstall and only had it a few days...freezes, crashes and content won't update. Would be a great resource otherwise

Too much garbage coming up, adverts..etc. uninstalled....and too slow. Make it simple...why is it so difficult.

Will not open ,just a blank screen.

Works and looks good on my Nexus 5X phone but horrid layout on my Nexus 9 tablet where I normally do most of my reading. Sorry it, then earn more stars, the Star.

This application is a total let down, is this the best you can do, slow and freezes all the time.

Dial up would be quicker (my broadband speed is 25mbs)this app is far too slow.

Absolute rubbish keeps freezing, very slow.

It is worst then having it delivered you never know if it's going to come it always crashes so I can't use my phone if no better in a week it will be deleted
