About Pāli Quiz

This application is designed to help students master the fundamentals of Pāli, the language of the earliest Buddhist writings, and the liturgical language of Theravada Buddhism. It is based on the vocabulary and subject matter of Pāli Primer, by Lily de Silva.

CURRENT STATUS
All 32 chapters, plus several vocabulary reviews strategically located among the list of quiz selections, are now complete; thus marking the conclusion of the main development phase of this project. Subsequent modifications, if any, will occur only as errata are identified, or in the event I locate opportunities to implement spaced repetition enhancements, or like improvements.

Each quiz focuses on a chapter from the text--or a vocabulary review--and consists of 20 questions randomly selected from a database containing between 43 and 287 questions per quiz, usually around 80. During the quiz, you can press a key to immediately reveal the correct answer for the current question. This feature enables you to use the quiz like a set of flashcards. At the conclusion of the quiz, your score is tallied, and you can the review the questions and their correct answers.

I have developed this learning tool as a gift of dana to other students. If you find it of value and would like to express your appreciation, the "Info, About, Credits, Dana" dialog contains a link to a non-profit meditation center I support.

I am myself a mere student of Pāli. Should anyone note any linguistic errors in this application, please contact me so I can correct them. I am not affiliated with the publishers of the Pāli Primer, and have not replicated the text. Any errors are, therefore, mine alone.
