Get Altitude

This app was really good at one time. Now it has no controls and it doesn't always work. Press on map to get the elevation and says needs to be connected to the internet even though I have it connected to WiFi. Will reinstall if it goes back to the way it was a few years ago for now uninstalled. Samsung galaxy s6.

A very useful app. Pity, though, that since my Galaxy S4 got updated I keep getting an error after a short while of using the app, and then it closes. Makes it nearly unusable, unfortunately.

Useless. Just shows dot for location. Long Press doesn't work. No other shortcuts appearing to have any function at all

App says I don't have an active data connection. It's done this ever since I upgraded to Nougat. Please fix it.

Works werry accurate. But i have only feet. Why not meter. And i cant change it. Something stupid

Randomly complains that I have no network access. Shame as it was a useful app.

Waste of time. Besides its ugly and time wasting interface, it tells me I don't have internet connection after I long press on the map.

Says it doesn't have a network connection. How did I download it and then write this without a network connection? I'm guessing it just doesn't work on the S8+

It won't tell you how to convert to standard it stays in metric im American not a stinking foreigner fore crying out loud.

I wanted my present elevation for a multistage geocache. Got it. Only took me three secs to figure out the ui to get my present elev. I don't understand why that isn't part of the home screen but that us only a minor annoyance. Mildly ads with the chesty women are a big detractor (hence 4h stars)

Nexus 5 6.0.1. When I long press it tells me I don't have network access. Other apps working fine and have cleared cache/reinstalled. Time to give up with it. Shame as used to work well

Currently broken on android 6

Froze up my Droid RAZR HD Maxx while scrolling around the map. Had to do a forced power off.

Went from Galaxy Note 3 to 5. App is now just a version of Google Maps with no altitude feature or ability to center map to my location. Have uninstalled and reinstalled twice. I loved it bbefor. It is useless now.

George (posted review on 12.30.2010) Metric is "standard" for the rest of the globe and not so hard to figure out if you know how to use your brain. I'm stateside also, I know metric conversion as do many others. Maybe you should learn it as it is most helpful.

Works fine but without a data connection it did not work. Went on a two-week backpacking trip and planned to use it to grab elevation on occasion. Did not work.

I use it frequently in Colorado because I get altitude sickness. I want to know when I might have a problem. It has always worked for me. Now it can not find an internet connection anymore, anywhere. Uninstall.

Wonderful useful tool. Just don't expect perfect accuracy and you'll find a helpful info/ref-guide always with you. So quick and unobtrusive to use and no pestering ads. -thx, Ron.

If you are working only with 'mobile data' then a network error occurs. So you only can use it at home or where else you have a network.

Impressive uses google maps, tried to the height of Scarfel pike give me Knotts pass for the nearest point. Thats way down the mountain and several miles away. So good it your ambling about the shops and local countryside. But fills an gadget man needs.

Seems to be very accurate on my droid x. Not used too much but will be great in the future. Good job!

I've been using two different apps to do what this one does, get GPS coordinates and convert them. Love it!

Needs to show gmaps terrain layer to be really useful. Ads are intrusive.

I wish the app icon is prettier. It is a little blurry.

Used this to see how much trouble I'll be in if the levee breaks. Like like almost 10 feet of trouble. Yikes #memflood

It apparently works off a cellular signal, so if you are hiking in remote areas, it's not helpful.

Excellent, does what it says. You cannot get your current altitude.

The only app I could find elevations with a mao without needing to be physically present. Simple and what I needed. Thank you!!

Great, but rapidly sliding down the scale because it was last updated over 5 years ago, which essentially means it's obsolete now. In turn, that means that it doesn't use the latest Android libraries and suffers as a result. It performs very badly unless the network signal is strong. I'd like to recommend it, but I can't now. It's past its sell-by.

Fix it or remove from store please

Ince Castle near saltash is not 21m above sea level.

Previously in nexus s & galaxy infinite very good. But in galaxy k-zoom /kitkat there is no setting knob, should be create a digital setting knob (because in galaxy k-zoom the previous phisical setting knob now become application list knob)

Great App. you dont need lazy GPS to wait twenty minutes to get information. More you can navigate map and get altitude from any where unlike GPS based tools.

I "long press on the map" and nothing comes up. Try everywhere even it'll suddenly pop up one area but won't do area again.

Works well but please update so it's compatible with newer versions of android. Access to settings is not possible
