Wanderlust: Fog of War for Android
The idea is nice and I'd really like it to work, but as it is now it doesn't record my paths most of the time, probably because it demands 100% GPS accuracy which is barely ever the case in a city with tall buildings. Maybe if the minimum accuracy was configurable it would work, I don't know.
App seems to stop tracking some times? It stopped tracking me for about 80km for some reason, even though the app was open and "tracking" was on. ALSO: what is the clock icon at the top right, and what does it do? Added: doesn't appear to track me with it open but the phone locked... wth? Makes this a pretty pointless app. Will change to better rating when it starts working again.
When you drive for a while, you will see the track fall behind where you are, and then catch up gradually. If you just leave it there, everything is fine, the track will be recorded correctly, it just need time to process it. However if your phone is off accidentally, you will lose all those buffered records. This seems to be a bug, please fix it. Thanks
I do a fair bit of travelling so I thought this would be a great app to start recording journeys and I saw something similar on Apple. This app however doesn't track flights and it doesn't seem to work on trains for some reason, but for anything else haven't had a problem.
Map and fog layer refuses to load. Tracking in app lags behind substantially when it works. Sometimes tracking in app gets so far behind that the app crashes. Leaderboards and achievements don't seem to work. Exporting map data causes app to crash.
It's pretty great! I have a lot of fun trying to unfog places I have yet to go to. However, it does have problems working in the background for long periods of time. But, that has yet to cause me a ton of problems.
Before the last update, I wasn't able to import by map from the demo, but since the demo is so short it made no difference. My only problem is that it seems to need data in order to record where you've been.
The tracking seems to stop arbitrarily, and doesn't necessarily start up again when I restart the app. So basically, the main function of the app doesn't work.
The app crashes when exporting the map file. This was fixed and is broken again. Please help as I have a new device. OnePlus2 (root) to OnePlus3T (no root, would like not to root).
They have fixed the issue with exporting maps BUT it crashes very often and when you zoom on the map it rarely works.
Everytime a kml file was imported, the app crashed.
I'd love to see the ability to sync your maps across devices automatically.
I purchased and downloaded this app and it just didn't work. It saw me on GPS but the fog didn't change... I tried moving around but nothing changed. It also kept crashing. I refunded the app while I could. The free app worked so well, not sure what went wrong with the paid version.
It's ok I guess...but it has to be actively running to record your position...not sure if they all work like that but it's way too much of a battery drain
I really like this app, but I can't seem to import the map that I exported from the free version. If the developer can tell me how to do this, then I would definitely rate it 5 stars.
The button of sign in google+ didnot work.
Fog cleared from a trip to Austin from Dallas but distance traveled doesn't reflect that. When looking at the cities distance traveled many are missing. If I scroll down on that page when I scroll back up the cities have disappeared and I have to go back to a previous one. Thought I found a replacement for fog of world on the iphone. Sadly was mistaken. Just retested with latest version.
It seems I can now export my data. I really like this app
I've been using this app since very near it's beginning. Developer has been very good with fixing reported bugs and adding features.
The app no longer crashes when trying to export the map files. As promised this review is now 5 stars. Thank you devs for your work. Question...what's the new alarm/clock icon toggle button do?
Had some problems to start with, crashing on import/export. The last update has fixed this..... Thanks
The best android "Fog of the world" you can get
At first it didn't work, but I emailed the creator and he fixed it in a patch within a couple of day! Superb! You need to update Google play for it to work
Not very precise. The screenshots above are extremely misleading. Uncovers squares many kilometers wide not accurate little paths like in the pictures.
Crashes when trying to export either GPX or KML file. I have upgraded my phone and am not able to move my data over.
I would love to use this app but it absolutely shreds my battery life. Killed about 50% of my battery just riding on the train for an hour - with the screen off. Was using a brand new Galaxy S6 edge, known for it's battery life.
Extremely buggy and unstable, not worth the price we pay for it. But has very good potential to become a top app in this category. Please work on it.
Good app but lacks of options en then dare to ask 3.50 for it. No cloud savings. No live tracking de screen is static so if you drive out of the map you won't see what you're unlocking. No pin point places. And then this.. I bought it and now all my routes are gone. Wtf did a refund immidialty en removed the app
Loving this app now that it has the kinks worked out!
I'd love to see the ability to sync your maps across devices automatically.

I want to use the app but whenever I launch it low power mode goes on automatically and does not properly uncover places I've been. I also have problems with the settings in general as they seem to turn on and off by themselves. Can anyone help?
Had to restore phone. Disappointed to see local stats reset to 0km, which means total distance travelled isnt updating globally. Very bad. Now my distance wont update for 500km. 5 stars otherwise, but this is huge flaw.
Great app, but I'm having problems uploading got files. I tried then as xml too but still no luck. Any advice
Simple idea and fun
Been looking for a location traking app for a while and I stumble upon this new gem! It's great to see the routes I have taken over the last few days of travelling and I hope to uncover more of the map! A little suggestion would be to add miles for a brit like me, I look forward to more features.
This is a really fun app! It's an interesting way to see your route while travelling or on a roadtrip. It also encourages me to explore my own city a bit more. Would highly recommend!
This is a neat idea, but it really drains the battery. It would be nice to be able to run it even in low accuracy mode. I mean, it's just for fun; it doesn't need to be precise. Better still would be to use location history. There also doesn't appear to be a way to change the units from km to miles.
Love this app! Use it walking in my neighbourhood and also across the country!!

This is the best GPS game I've seen. No pokestops, no fiddly geocaches to find, just pure exploration. No need to bury your face in the screen, you can play this game with the phone in your pocket! In fact, play this game on your bike! This game is essentially a tool to help me walk down new and unfamiliar streets every day, and that is basically exactly what I was looking for, so thanks!
