Going to learn how to do something new. I look forward to using this app. TONY ANTHONY SARAH CYNTHIA AND all the staff at ROK mobile are amazing!!!
4/26/16... It will play tracks in a list but selecting tracks or albums means closing and restarting the app to get music to stream again...Sometimes tracks skip all over the place like a bad CD. I've used a lot of data trying to get the app to work. Works fine on a Droid Turbo but not on my Stock Nexus6 or Note4. Can NOT stream after 4g data is used up. Where did the "now playing" bar go?...can't skip ahead or go back in a song anymore.
Five star app one because no standlone app cannot have not fare that sucks
App works fine in my Samsung Galaxy S4. Rok mobile as a cell carrier works mostly fine. Some glitches every month when renewing.
Won't even open the app once installed! Force closes itself.
Doesn't work on my Sony Xperia Z3v but works ok on my Samsung Note 2. Plays the playlist great but when you pick other music away from your playlist it sometimes doesn't work or takes a long time to play/stream. Needs to be worked on but I feel once they get the small things figured out it could be a great app.
Straight Talk is cheaper for the same thing. I was willing to pay more for the music, but it has only worked once or twice without errors in a month of service. When it does work, which is almost never, it still takes a minute in between songs. I get that the service is pretty new but it doesn't seem to be ready for prime time yet. Will be asking for refund on the second month I was just charged for. Spotify coupled with Straight Talk would only be $5 more... and actually works. No point w/out the music.
I had straight talk. Messed up my account for 5 days with out a phone.. They lost my number an couldn't find it. Let alone my account... What's 5 more dollars. An not being put on hold an talk to someone for 3 hours it's crazy.. I will take my chances.. No more straight talk after 6yrs
I'm feeling played!!!
Its terrible I was driving in my car to a destination 20 miles away and the 19th mile it finally decided to play. Even at home with WiFi sometimes it plays then suddenly crashes
Can't pay my bill. And saying I'm not a Verizon costumer ??? What's up with that
As in described before only plays in list, no shuffle no song selection after a song is playing.
Crashes each and every time you try to use it. And to think some people pay for this horrible thing.
When ever i try to make an account it says: "an error occured".
Fine update
Everytime I try to listen to a song it says my subscription has expired I switched to Rok Mobile 2 months ago and have yet been able to listen to any music
Won't play music. I've tried reinstalling clearing cache moving to SD card. It's just a garbage app. Note 3 on 5.0 even the support number you gave doesn't work. 4 days to reply to my previous email. A messed up sim card trying to blame it on an airport. I don't know if this is a big joke or this company is really that terrible.
Just started using this app and subscription using an HTC one plus. The app was giving me many of the troubles others were experiencing like no playback available. And issue with installing the app. Need to make the app register the SIM card. I had to call to make it end the free trial to start actual paid subscription. But all that is fine now, the only issue I have with it now is it's very glitchy and the three dot drop-down menus next to artists do not work. I hope you can resolve the issues!
I want to know how do I only buy the music app for a monthly fee
I am dissatisfied with the music app. I am new to Rok Mobile and I LOVE THE SERVICE. However, the app is glitchy and will not allow playback of any song I select. Why advertise free streaming if its unavailable on the lot of devices on the market. I'm using a Galaxy S6 Edge. If the app had full functionality, I could see it taking the place of my Pandora or Spotify. Until then, just another subpar music app. When I get functionality, my rating will go to 5 stars.
I have service through rok mobile and when I try to sign in with my account information it just says there was an error signing in. When I try to start the free trial with my account email that already exists it just force closes the app. I've tried on a g3 and a droid turbo with the exact same results.
add bubba the love sponge and ill have no need for spotify
Update works a lot better and now I can see my song on Bluetooth. Can you please fix the radio everyone it plays one or two songs it closes and I have to restart the app.
I just switch mine and my girlfriends phone to rok mobile so we could get free music but everytime we try to log on to the app it tells us our service has expired. I've tried to call customer service over and over about 10 times now and nothing has be fixed, they keep telling me to use a trial account till they get it fixed, I don't need a trial i'm paying for service fix it or i'm changing provider's.
I've been using ROK mobile for the past year because of the $400 for one year special they were running. Now with them switching to the CDMA (Verizon) network, the cell phone service is amazing. However I have never been satisfied with the music app. I uninstalled it a year ago because of battery issues. Now with trying it again, it will play a few songs and stop playing. I am using a Moto X Pure Edition running Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Any suggestions?
Simple to use!
Needs the ability to remove explicit lyrics... Or a family safe setting of some sort. Once it has that 5 stars.
I was okay with the app until I downloaded the newest update. Now, I'm lucky to get something from my downloaded Playlist to play. Any suggestions?
It's awesome! I love it!
Good
Worthless piece of crap. Will not start up on phone, tried on other phone and just kept telling me playlist not available. After reading other reviews, it seems Motorola phones are a problem. I use a droid turbo and a droid maxx.
Sucks
On the next update can you add to be able to pause or skip a song on the lock screen. I hate having to unlock the phone then skip
The app is great, but it absolutely kills my battery. My battery went down 50% in 2 hours with this app installed. I wasn't using it, I installed it, logged in, and closed it. I don't understand why it uses so much power, but I checked my battery stats and 90% of my battery use was the Rok app. This needs to be fixed ASAP, the app is the only reason I even switched my number to Rok Mobile.
Music is ad free and allows downloads for when your traveling outside T-Mobile area (very limited). Use on Galaxy S5 and the app freezes frequently and does not update songs timely when connected to auto paired Bluetooth..delayed by 1 song and sometimes more. Agree needs off button
app looks great, but have not been able to get one track to play. app constantly says current track is unavailable for playback. running on vzw Note 3, kitkat
From what I understand you get music with downloads for free. Anybody interested in unlimited talk, and text it's $49.99. The music from what I understand (incl. downloads) is free. Have to investigate further. But I'm pretty sure you get unlimited music for the duration that you have the application.
PRO: very large music library, unlimited listening and skipping. CON: Must open the app and click 3 to 4 times to even begin listening. There is no way to resume playlists. Music will continue after bluetooth disconnected. Music pauses when signal is weak and goes to the next song after phone regains signal. App needs widgets, and ability to close from notification. No way to play/pause change tracks from lockscreen.
The app itself had issues, playback always had problems and was laggy. It cannot be used as a standalone music app and ROK has decided to alienate its entire GSM user base by switching to a CDMA network. Not worth it.

I think the company is working thru some bug issues but I love the flow of this app. Very easy to get around and access all the music types and options.
