Unicorn DIY Snow Cones Dessert

Have you ever made snow cones? It’s SUPER easy! It’s a great investment for outdoor parties all summer long because you can change up colors, flavors and add fun straws and sprinkles too! we love a “make your own” station at an event because it’s always fun to build your own dessert.


Ingredients

   Strawberry Simple Syrup:

   1 cup sugar
   1 cup water
   1 pint strawberries, stems removed, sliced
   Red food coloring

   Pineapple Simple Syrup:

   ¾ cup sugar
   1 cup water
   1 cup crushed pineapple, juice included
   Yellow food coloring

   1 cup sugar
   1 cup water
   Blue food coloring
   1 teaspoon all natural blue berry extract (we used Pure Blueberry Extract by OliveNation)*

   *You can use fresh blueberries to make this simple syrup but the resulting color will be purple instead of blue! If you are looking for a true bright blue color for your sno cone syrup, the extract and food coloring combo is the way to go!

Directions

- For the strawberry simple syrup: Combine sugar and water in a small sauce pan. Bring to a boil and cook just till sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat. Add in the strawberries. Let sit at least 30 minutes, up to 8 hours. Strain through a fine mesh sieve. Stir in a few drops of red food coloring to give a more vibrant color. Let cool completely and store in refrigerator.
   
- For the pineapple simple syrup: Combine sugar and water in a small sauce pan. Bring to a boil and cook just till sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat. Add in the crushed pineapple. Let sit at least 30 minutes, up to 8 hours. Strain through a fine mesh sieve. Stir in a few drops of yellow food coloring to give a more vibrant color. Let cool completely and store in refrigerator.
   
- Combine sugar and water in a small sauce pan. Bring to a boil and cook just till sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat. Stir in blueberry extract and a few drops of blue food coloring. Let cool completely and store in refrigerator.
