= Important =

We've done our best and have tested Thermodo on a large number of devices, but obviously we cannot test it on every single device out there. If you are having issues please send an e-mail to support@thermodo.com and we will see what we can do.

Currently, there are a couple of known limitations that you should be aware of:

- Thermodo works unreliably when audio enhancers such as "Beats Audio", "Dolby" or similar features are enabled. When using Thermodo, please disable such audio enhancers.

- On some devices the app sometimes cannot ensure that the master volume is set at a reasonable level. If you are having issues with Thermodo not being detected by your phone then go into Settings->Sound->Volumes and make sure the volume for music is set to the maximum value.

What are users saying about Thermodo

N70%
by N####:

First, the unit measured temperature 10+ degrees F low out of the box. Second, no response from the Thermodo people from emails to both listed email addresses. This is a great idea but incredibly poor execution

Temperatures jump erratically within seconds by several degrees on my Galaxy S7. basically useless. worked well for a while on my old Xperia Z3 compact.

5 months since I ordered my thermometer. Not delivered yet. No response from Thermodo. Terrible !!!

UPDATE: With this new release, Thermodo works as described. The UI is nice and I'm getting solid readings without issue. Seems to be off on accuracy, but I'm only using it to detect temperature changes. SDK available. Very nice guys; took a bit of time but you came through on S3. PREVIOUS:I really wanted this to be awesome, but it's not. Why support S2? It's already two generations old. Europe can't be that far behind. Fails to even start on my S3. SDK? Wasted money investing in this Kickstarter

M70%
by M####:

The temperature history doesn't work. It reads the current temperature but without the history it is useless to me. I'll update my rating to 5 star if it's fixed.

As of the last update (28/03/16) this finally works with my Thermodo on my Xperia Z2.

M70%
by M####:

Poor app for this - even considered made by thermodo. Too much add junk in the app to

M70%
by M####:

So it works I guess? But the temp is always off, followed a lot of people's suggestions, and even tweaked the custom compensation setting, but it seems like every time I turn it on I have to re adjust the compensation, so what's the point?

Actually it might be more factual to call it stillborn. It's a featureless iOS app by a company afraid of the world outside their walled-in swamp. If you install this in hopes of using it as a random number that could be a temperature generator then I expect you'll be pleased. A lack of respect for the standards, conventions, and design of Android means that not only is this app useless, but it's ugly too.

H70%

But needs a couple new features. Ability to export data/see what the last couple readings are would be nice. I think the iOS version lets you see old readings, but I'm not seeing it here. Google spreadsheets export would wonderful!

Y70%

I'm pairing it with my LG G4 and it's great. I invested in a 6 foot 4-pole extension cable. I tested it against MasterGrip digital laser thermometer and the Thermodo was off by +2°F max during various tests.

M70%
by M####:

Works perfectly fine on iOS devices, however the Android version is seemingly being completely left behind. Basic temperature reading works, but neither history or other functions from iOS seem to have been implemented as of yet. Edit: It rarely even detects the thermometer. Readings seems somewhat accurate, when it actually works.

M70%
by M####:

Not very accurate. Would like to see the line graph like the iOS app.

E70%

Who cares if the app is super simplistic if the reading is off

C70%

Update 2014-02-11: New app update finally brought support for Note 3. The measurements are 10 degree C off and cannot be compensated with settings or calibrated. Tested with black and premium device, still useless. Update Jan. 2015: Still garbage, my portable IR keychain thermo works better. Tossing the app and the product, regret supporting it on Kickstarter

X70%
by X####:

Heat from phone makes readings potentially inaccurate up to 10 deg F. Options to compensate for this are completely arbitrary.

A year later: Thermodo and the app no longer work as advertised. In fact, it never did work well at all. Emailed developer and they seem to have little to no interest in updating the Android platform. I am very disappointed! Old review: Thanks for all the hard work getting the Android version up and ruining. It's prefect!

D70%
by D####:

Forget sensor is plugged in. Need to unplug and replug. Temp fluctuates and screen flashes back and forth between red and blue. Why can't it have some simple data logging. For example to csv.

K70%
by K####:

The design is cool, the concept is cool. But the Android version of the app has been forgotten and left to die. Look at the ios version. Has all the bells and whistles. I backed this thing from the beginning on Kickstarter with the promise of a solid app, Android and ios. But alas, they lied and now the Thermodo is barely functional. They haven't updated the app since February!

Accuracy is still +/_ 2 degrees after setting proper phone heat setting. Also why not add additional functionality? Like logging? This really seems like a kickstarter ripp off.

Updating my review to say that it's now working on my primary device! Will test more later, but looking good now

Q70%

The kickstarter gave the impression of the ability to track historical temperatures (and graph them), and even hook into them via an API. I'm not seeing that kind of power, and it's pretty disappointing. I could be way off on my expectations, but I was primed for way more out of this app, and just don't feel like it's very useful as it stands.

E70%

with version 1.1 the App introduces Galaxy s4 compatibility. makes my 2 star rating come to 5!

If my SIII even recognizes that the device is in place, it freezes after seconds and then won't restart. Yes, I read the FAQ's, and no, your device is not infallible.

Z70%

Took a long time to receive, so many delays. Doesn't work out of the box on a highly popular phone series. Finally detected after staying in for several minutes. Several minutes later it's not detected. New update displays correct temp +-2 but I could only test it once. Still not recognizing. I wish they sent a 4 pole extension with it. This Kickstarter backer is disappointed. I'll probably just put the Kickstarter Pressy in it's place. I'm an engineer and this was certainly a great idea. I wish it worked.

I've had this for awhile and am excited I can finally use this and it works well! I went ahead and bought an extension cable and that does fix the heat problem and now it is very accurate!

App gives much better readings if you use an extension cable. Make sure it is the four conductor type of cable. :-)
