Cadence Counter (Unreleased) for Android
What is cadence?
We measure cadence as your reps / minute.
We recalculate and display your cadence every second.
Who is this app for?
This app was created in conjunction with the U.S. Paralympic Track & Field team that trains out of Champaign, Illinois. Athletes use the app to calculate their cadence while training and preparing for races. Understanding their cadence helps athletes and coaches tailor their training program to gain stroke efficiency.
How does the app work?
This application is built on Rithmio's motion recognition software for wearables. It gathers data from the smartwatch on the athlete's form while they are performing an exercise. It then tracks the quantity of reps the athlete performs and measures the amount of time incurred. Then it calculates and displays the cadence, reps / minute, on the smartphone screen for the athlete or coach to see.
Which devices do I need to use this app?
This app is compatible with Android Wear OS smartwatches and an Android smartphone running an OS version 5.0 or later. Bluetooth needs to be enabled on your smartphone for this application to work optimally.
Does the app archive my data?
No. Cadence Counter is like a stopwatch in that it is a session-based experience that doesn't archive your information.
Which sports can I use it to track my cadence?
We are currently testing a variety of sport types that Cadence Counter can serve well. In the short term, this application was built to serve Paralympic Athletes performing wheelchair racing and wheelchair cycling while training for the Olympics.
