SMS Backup & Restore Pro

Love the app but just one issue. I was digging through the play store looking at other back up apps and I noticed there are some that back up MMS as well as SMS. Why not do that with this app? Otherwise this app is perfect.

Hi fellow PRO users: You are doing this wrong. I understand that you want continued support of the PRO edition, which is what you paid for. IMHO the correct way is to give 5 star to the PRO version, then download and give 1 star to the FREE version (and then uninstall), so others understand that freemium is not an acceptable business model comparing to properly support your customers.

I tried the free version was in desperate need to back up my sms & mms. It does exactly what its suppose to do and it even uploads to Google drive which is awesome. Though I wish I could select dark mode dark background..... anyways worth every penny... thank you.

The original dev was awesome! Now it appears Carbonite has bought it and has plans to make money off it. The pro version is not supported anymore. I highly suspect they are going to destroy this app's reputation by making it monthly or yearly subscription. This is a huge disappointment from the original dev! I can understand he wants to make money but this company will destroy all his hard work and reputation!

I had to "downgrade" to this version because Carbonite took out the ability to restore duplicates in their free app. Sms message get split up after 160 characters, and on my Samsung devices, the split up messages show the exact same date and time, down to the millisecond. I am quite certain this is how this app detects duplicates, so the free app did not restore all of my messages, even though they were clearly backed up! This app works great, but how much longer will it be supported?

Used the free version a long time, decided to support this great developer. EDIT: Carbonite's privacy policy is basically no privacy. They've ruined a wonderful app, I'll be looking elsewhere now!

When you pay money for an app you don't expect the author to sell it to a company who then kill support for the app. I call that deceipt and robbery!

I paid for this app which works fine, but it tells me to install the new updated version that is totally "AD FREE" but the new app contains adverts…. So its either an error and ovetsight on the devs behalf or a rip-off. I hope its the former.

Was a good app (pro version) Carbonite are Visigoths and vandals. They will start charging for parts of the app. If anyone knows if a decent backup/restore app, PLEASE advise other users. carbonite are moneygrabbers.

OMG, WTF??? Dev what have you done???? Will uninstalling all carbonite apps. Now using Contacts & SMS Backups by "Vertice Zone" & its free. FRAUDULENT ACTION BY CARBONITE! I'm disgusted by the whole issue. DON'T FORGET THE DECENT PEOPLE WHO PAID FOR SOMETHING THAT NO LONGER EXISTS, REFUNDING EVERYONE IS SIMPLY A COMMON DECENCY, DO YOU POSSESS THIS ATTRIBUTE? I won't touch any of your products & will spend this info!!!!!

Seriously, no longer supporting the Pro app so I have to go back to the Free ad supported version so Carbonite can make money? Screw that.

Why would you discontinue this? Why not just upload the other app here? Why cause this chaos? In line with xiaoxing zhang, I'm going to rate this a 5. It remains to be seen whether I'll rate the other a 1.

Hi, I was about to reinstall the app. Then I read the reviews. I am removing this app from my play store library. Don't install this app on your phone. Thanks to those who posted the warnings.

Now that y'all have discontinued use & support of the pro edition, are the users that purchased this app going to get refunds?

I paid for the Pro version when Ritesh owned it. Now Carbonite will stop support of the paid version. WTF? How do I get a refund?

This is a great app, no issues with it so far, did restores only a handful of times though - hopeful won't be needing to do it too often. Can you add the ability to backup and restore the 'preference' setting? that would make it even better.

Few minor issues with auto backup occasionally but nothing to complain about here.

The App does what it says and more importantly in a simple way. Good work dev!

Did it in a less than a minute.Spent almost 3 hours to back up text messages from my Nexus 5. This app did in a minutes. With SMS well organized in PDF with date & time in table formats.Great tool also to print SMS.

A great app about to be ruined. Carbonite now owns the app and the pro version will stop receiving support in mid-February. All development will be shifted to the free app. How will Carbonite monetize the free app? Ads? IAP? Will I still be able to backup my messages where I want to back them up? Or will I be using Carbonite's servers?

I've been using this tool for years; I thought it is one of the best SMS backup tools in the Android™ market, so I decided to buy it a couple months ago. Satisfied until today when I realize that Dev's support for Pro Version is no longer to be continued. It's okay and understandable to make your App totally free, but I just feels being abandoned and a bit dissapointed like other Pro Version Users/Buyers.

Thank you for an excellent product that has been reliable and essential for years. Worth every penny. Wishing the dev all the best.

Happy to support you :-) truly, thanks for caring and being so involved, i was tickled when i saw you responding to people in the play store, STILL after all these years. First time i used your app was sometime 2010-2012 i believe.

I switch between multiple Android phones often. This app allows me to copy all of my SMS and MMS messages (many thousands) between phones. Even the content of the messages (images, movies, emoji, etc.) is correctly backed up and restored by this app. I would gladly pay twice as much for the functionality (and stability) offered by this app. An ad-supported free version is available for download — I tried it a couple times, and then went ahead and downloaded the paid version here.

Hangs on trying to backup. Mailed the details to the developer, no changes yet. Can't backup with the app anymore!

Trying to figure out what the catch is so had a look at the privacy policy. A permission to send analytics, run on phone start up, and the privacy says it shares identifiable information with third parties. No thanks. Have been using this app for a long time too. Doh.

Like others said, this app is simple but works exactly as advertised. Get the pro version and support the author!
