Das Pulkautal im nörchlichen Weinviertel ist eine außergewöhliche Region in Österreich.

1.900 Sonnenstunden im Jahr lassen die Trauben optimal ausreifen. Das kontinentale Klima mit pannonischen Einflüssen, geringen Niederschlägen und ein hoher Kalkgehalt in den Böden sind ideale klimatische Bedingungen für reife, aromatische Trauben.
Der Weinviertler DAC bei den Weißweinen und der „Blaue Zweigelt“ im Rotwein-Segment sind die meist angebauten Weinsorten im Pulkautal.

Das Pulkautal ist aber auch das Vorbild für das literarische „Wiesbachtal“. Hier löst Gendamerieinspektor Simon Polt seine Fälle und hier befinden sich auch die Drehorte der Polt-Fernsehfilme.

Radwandertal Pulkautal

Abseits vom Alltagsverkehr eröffnet sich im Pulkautal ein 200 km langes gut ausgebautes und markiertes Rad- und Wanderparadies. Ideale Voraussetzungen erwarten den Genuss-Radler ebenso wie den Radprofi.

Auf den Spuren von Simon Polt

Seit fast schon vier Jahrzehnten ist dem Autor der Polt-Romane Alfred Komarek das Weinviertel und ganz besonders das Pulkautal zur zweiten Heimat geworden. In seinen Büchern, schreibt er über den Dorfgendarm, der in einer Gegend ermittelt, in der er aufgewachsen ist, unter Menschen, die er kennt und das führt natürlich immer wieder zu Konflikten.
Dass die Wahl der Besetzung auf Erwin Steinhauer gefallen ist, war ein großes Glück, so glaubwürdig und sympathisch verkörpert er Simon Polt und gibt ihm Leben und Seele, davon ist auch Regisseur Julian Pölsler überzeugt. Im Pulkautal hat Alfred Komarek einen Lebensraum beschrieben, in dem es eher ruhig zugeht, eine sanfte Landschaft, in der man den Kopf nicht zu
heben braucht, um den Himmel zu sehen – und Menschen, die bedächtig miteinander umgehen, aber auch dann etwas zu sagen haben, wenn sie schweigen.
In einer Zeit, die sich immer schneller, lauter und aufdringlicher präsentiert, haben Ruhe, leise Töne und verhaltene Farben in den Büchern und Filmen offenbar eine Sehnsucht in den Leuten geweckt.
Jedenfalls wurde schon der erste Roman zum besten deutschsprachigen Krimi gewählt. Bald folgte die erste Verfilmung. Heute sind alle fünf Polt-Romane verfilmt, erzielten ungewöhnlich hohe Einschaltquoten und werden seit Jahren immer wieder ausgestrahlt.
Was lag also näher, als Radfahrer und Wanderer die Möglichkeit zu bieten, die wunderschöne Landschaft des Pulkautales auf den Spuren von Simon Polt zu erkunden.
Schon seit Jahren gibt es Polt-Führungen, an denen großes Interesse besteht und zu den Schauplätzen, die in den Büchern und Filmen gezeigt werden und wo ein gemütlicher Kellerbesuch mit Weinverkostung nicht fehlen darf. Magnificent Pulkautal

Since almost four decades the author of the novels Polt Alfred Komarek has become the wine district and especially the Pulkautal second home.
