Ride with GPS - Bike Computer for Android
Honestly I want to give this app 5 stars because it is the only one I can find with route planning and turn by turn guidance along said route the way this one does. But it is kind of absurd the price they want you to pay for this feature. I wouldn't mind paying some but at $50 a year I might as well buy a Garmin
This app never worked for me. Could never get it to map my ride. Then yesterday on the DRIVE home from work it started doing splits. I just deleted it. I've used cyclemeter in the past and will stick with it
I'd also love to give 5 stars. Instead of having a hit and miss search engine, an actual map that you can drag across to find routes on would be awesome.
I love this app for unfamiliar, or new, routes. Turn by turn directions very rarely lead me astray.
App stopped working 500 M into ride. Lost whole route. Google maps recorded the route, so not GPS issue. Please fix.
I signed up for the Basic Plan three or four days ago and when I went to export a route(that a friend had plotted in Ride with GPS and emailed to me ), to my phone it said that I had to sign up for the basic plan agian....not great!
Does not let you plan courses within the App....which is exactly what I'm looking for.
Love the app. Very easy to use!!!
Easy to use, intuitive, reliable
Out of all the cycling GPS apps in the Play store, I think this is one of the best. So I was surprised to see only a 4.1 rating and a bunch of negative reviews, which in my mind do not do RideWithGPS justice, and I wanted to put in my own two cents. I have had RideWithGPS since 2014 and I use it for the absolutely most rudimentary function ... to log rides. I am a road cyclist and I don't route rides (and definitely don't use GPS for navigation). Before I begin each ride, I just turn RideWithGPS on, wait for the GPS to locate my current coordinates, start logging and put the phone away in my saddle bag. This app logs actuately, has autopause, and does not drain my battery heavily. After the ride, it saves the data and will defer uploading if there is no mobile data connection. And during the ride wifi or mobile data connections are not needed either, so you can go to the back roads or mountains without losing your ride data. After upload, all your ride data are on the web with detailed analytics and you can also download the gps data. I can't think of a better cycling gps app out there. If you are looking for a route navigation app, then you should probably just plan your route on the RideWithGPS website and sync it with your phone. Print out the cue sheet to take with your ride, or occasionally check your phone to make sure you are on route. Having your phone in front of you during a ride or looking at it is a risky practice. On the other hand, if your intention is to use this app as a bike computer, you should probably consider spending $40 to buy a real bike computer to clip onto your bike.
Read a lot of the negative reviews here, and maybe they are for old versions but the features exist that are usually being complained about. It's not the cleanest/easiest app or website but the functionality is there and its good. Never had the app lock up or crash, works with 3 Bluetooth accessories flawlessly and the guidance is like the GPS in your car - you wouldn't let it drive you off a cliff, why are people apparently blindly following this? it does a great job on the bike if you use common sense
Works excellent on my Galaxy S6. The "red buttons" to start were odd at first, but I get it now. To save a ride, you have to take the time to name it when done, but it does collect amazing data and elevation graphs. Pretty awesome.
I simply love this app. It lets me plan interesting routes on big screen at home and then just listen to the cues while riding. I can be lost on trail without being truly lost. Subscription is well worth the money imo.
When following your route map zoom is fixed, you can zoom in but then it goes back to the way it was. Location arrow is same color as route line so it can be a little hard to see. Besides that it's quiet a good app.
This app is great and doesn't drain my battery at all. I am amazed at how little battery usage it takes and doesn't make my phone hot at all. One feature I would like is Google Fit integration.
wanted to upgrade membership from basic. couldn't figure out how. Thought maybe had to cancel basic membership first. Now I have no membership and can't seem to find a way to reinstate it. They're saving me money, so maybe I should give them 5 stars?
Worked well for first 75 miles of 2 day 240 mile ride then left me hanging out in Nowheresville. Was depending on it and it let me down. Frustrating! Still looking for a good turn by turn ride app.
A bike app that won't route via bike paths. Route planning is done via a website (needs internet). Bike paths can be highlighted (in green just like Google maps which presumably it uses) and the default being off, ie hidden. But even with paths enabled the planner won't route via these nor can it be manually forced to route off-road.
It's a nice app and seems accurate with the mile count but after the first day it unfortunately stopped uploading the routes I had already travelled so if I want to know how many miles I've done in total I jeed to add them up myself, slightly annoyed with that, otherwise seems good.
The app is screaming for an export feature! I shouldn't have to use my laptop to export into my bikes GPS.
When I finally started using the app and taking pictures while running the app, at the end of the day none of my pictures of my beautiful ride were not saved in my picture gallery.
Nice app but does anyome know if we can use garmin speed and cadence sensor with it?
The first time I started the app I selected go ride. I thought the red button was a pause or stop. I do my ride and nothing. How about green or go or start. Perhaps just start the app with the "go ride" section? Still can't figure out the pictures. The ride summary is an odd layout compared to other apps. The fees for the paid version are too much. The map looks great when you share it.
Simply superglue app for any cyclists looking to explore
Can't connect with Topeak Panobike cadence speed sensor
Love it. My favorite biking app
I live in Emporia, Ks, this app says I live in Wichita, can't change it, so uninstalled the app.
Login now works (latest version), so I gave it a new try. It's not clear with having to press 1st "go ride" & then also the "red" button, before ride recording actually starts. Later it turned out to have 'been recording' for 30 days, so both start & stop are unclear. Why make such simple functionality so complex? Deïnstall again. Prefer Velodroid with same webapp.
Everything I need from a GPS data logging service. I'd like to contribute financially again without subscribing though. There is nothing in the subscribers packages I'd use but would love to give the developer further payment. Currently the app crashes on my phone & tablet when I view the 'Feed' section.
By far the best I have used and just keeps getting better. I do wish you could down load a map for area, then just ride. Would also like to be able to plan a ride using the app.
It would be great if issues were taken seriously, not everyone wants to upgrade to get support
I love this app, so easy to use. Tried strava, but it used up battery and didn't have turn by turn navigation.
App's Notification about route upload can't be removed. Even when i shut down the app it still says that it's uploading rides.
Great to plan a new route, export file to garmin device. Map is updated. Find other riders routes, download files etc...
Great for riding in unfamiliar areas.
Trying out does not mean log in now
It would be better if you could plan routes.
Takes FOREVER to get GPS lock. I have a separate GPS program which gets LOCK in a minute. RIDE can take 10 minutes or more. Unacceptable!
Cool wee App well thought out and stable.

This is a very complex app and accompanying website that has many features. Took me a while to work out how to make everything do what I wanted (for example how to get it to leave the screen on during a ride and also how to download a route to use offline). Once I'd spent the time working it out I'm so impressed. The turn by turn navigation works superbly, and it seemed more compatible with Bluetooth sensors than Strava was. I now use Ride with GPS to plan my route and to track my ride, then export and import into Strava for the social aspect.
