RideFlag is an innovative application that facilitates carpooling between drivers and riders who are going on similar routes so that they can share the ride and the costs, greatly reduce carbon emissions, and make new friends with a similar interests.

RideFlag is unique in that it matches riders and drivers in “Real-time” – Riders select from the pool of drivers who are on their way to similar destinations right when the rider needs them. Everyday thousands of drivers take their cars on very similar routes and each has excess inventory of seats. They each drive alone because trying to find a ride with someone else at exactly the time they need it has typically been difficult to coordinate. Our application gives these drivers an option to become riders with other drivers who are going on very similar routes just when they need it. The result is reduced congestion, less carbon emissions, and lower travel costs for both parties.
